21  Economy / Speculation / Re: I fear - BTC is set for another downturn on: May 06, 2013, 07:21:51 PM
As I see it , it would take what you call "a black swan event"  to stop the uptrend ( a fault in the algorithm or the US making bitcoin Illegal).
You are looking on such a small scale. Pullthe scale back to 1, 2 ,3 years... we are right on track.

I said short-term. Long-term still looks good, I agree.

To a long time holder, and even to a speculator. There will simply not be a sustainable price advance if volume (=people wanting the freakin' bitcoin) is not there.

I'm sure you agree that the relevant volume here is USD (since that's the ressource we need enough of to maintain or raise btc price). Hence: "Volume in currency" in the following chart:

Looks good to me. Between 2 and 5 times as high as in March (when the price approached 40), and 10? 20? as high as in January, February. Maybe not the volume to support a price in the multiple 100s, but enough to support 100, 150? Why yes, looks like it to me.

That chart should not inspire confidence in anyone with bullish expectations.

Was it a bubble? We'll see. It sure looks like it. But, hey, maybe it'll be different this time!

Team red is running low on ammo, folks...

Nope. Just getting started.  Grin

It looks like bears are running out of bullets. These are mini sell offs Cheesy

They're placing asks in hope for another huge market buy order.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 06, 2013, 02:26:37 PM
HAHA someone is desperately buying trying to prevent this from looking like the top.

Price drops to 117, and he clears out the asks to 124, hmmm....
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 06, 2013, 07:34:22 AM
I wake up and wallzilla is MIA. Anybody knows at which point he unloaded his coins? Maybe he was the one who sold 2k coins at $124?

He left after it passed $120.

I'm very curious to see where the price will fall tomorrow.

Me too. I'm trying to figure out whether I place my bids near $91 or $81...

lol

$71?

I wonder how man hundreds of cursors are hovering over the sell button right now...
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 06, 2013, 04:22:24 AM
Wall at $120 growing.

31  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3 days = 40$ increase and china has not even begun to buy. on: May 06, 2013, 04:16:32 AM
Im still not convinced and I usually lean bullish. That super wall was all manipulation to push the price up so that Wallmaker could sellin the 120s. It was pulled immediately after the sells were bought. The Wallmaker might even help drop it down now so he can ensure he buys lower.

Otherwise I believe we probably will go vastly higher. Just not so sure it will happen just yet.

I'm usually a turbo-bull myself, but obvious pump and dump is obvious.

wall gone

Wonder if his real wall was the sell wall at 120, and now we free fall to 90, hmmm...

I bet he got tired of waiting on a bear to come along, but they are either scared or hibernating, so he was the person behind the recent rise from 116 to 122, which was about the same amount of BTC the wall was. I guess a quick check of the depth would sort of confirm this.

But the wall didn't diminish in that time.

Thats right, you can't set a buy order, then buy at market, then take down your buy order anymore unless you have the funds to cover it. My bad!

He probably had a lot of coin in the 120 range he wanted to sell, and forced the price into it?

That's what I think. But I'm probably biased because I'm shorting right now.  Tongue

34  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive bid wall - over $2,000,000 on: May 05, 2013, 09:30:38 PM
I think the bidwall is someone that wants to stabilize the exchange rate for business reasons.  They have most likely bet on a BTC business, and the BTC-denominated business needs a stable price.

Well, they failed, then. A bunch of suckers panic bought, and it won't be long until they start panic selling again.
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: What sort of effect to expect on price w/ China news? on: May 05, 2013, 08:42:06 PM
I don't think this China news will significantly affect the adoption rate or price.   This event reminds me of the Good Wife episode "Bitcoin for Dummies", which aired on January 16th, 2012.  It had a lot of hype leading up to it, but price dropped for months thereafter, and that was when the total daily volume in currency was around $300k USD, not $20M day USD like it is now.

Bitcoin also had front-page articles in WSJ, NYTimes, and most other major news sources during the bubble up, and the price has dropped since then.

The same thing happened before the first bitcoin conference.

Trying to keep it from slipping below $115 with a fake 500btc wall...

Stop please Sad I sold 107 Bitcoin at $116 and want to get them for $114 within an hour.

You'll be able to buy them back for much cheaper than that if you wait for a few hours.

38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 05, 2013, 07:58:56 PM
I'd prefer it if they nudge the 120 wall first... I need to sell before I can buy.

I think that whoever is putting the wall at $110 is trying to get the price up to $120-$125 so he can get rid of the last dump of coins he bought at a higher price before the value started going down. We should see some movement as soon as we get to a new high point. ($120 or $125 or whatever it might be) - As the price rises to ~$119 he is going to move the wall from $110 to $115 in order to put even more buying pressure on the market, so that he can get the price over his desired value.

It's not going to make it that far, though. People are becoming wise to the plan.
39  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 05, 2013, 07:48:15 PM
So, panic sell when the $110 disappears?  Wink

Panic sell after he dumps 10k btc.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive bid wall - over $2,000,000 on: May 05, 2013, 07:46:14 PM
I'm not manipulating anyone, just taking advantage of someone else's manipulation.  No guilt at all.

You don't have long to get out, imo. Bids are nearing 10k over 110, besides the wall, and asks are starting to build. Dump incoming.
