21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first Crypto Meeting on: November 02, 2021, 06:24:02 AM
Yes, this is probably the best decision that you have to make before starting your journey here in crypto. Learning should always comes first before earning. We need to be knowledgeable enough to know about things like how crypto works and what is crypto because when you learn you'll be able to move forward towards success. That is why it is very important.
Earning comes naturally after learning. There is no need to rush things.
Yeah, that is why it is spelled as LEARN, you must learn first and drop the L and Earn. But when you can earn you should also not stop from learning, learn earn, earn learn, it is a never ending cycle and that is the way it is to become successful.

Mentorship has its own significance and i'm truly glad that i had one. My mentor introduces me to crypto and taught me very well. My mentor helped me a lot and i am so very grateful to him.
Self-Learning specially in cryptocurrency is quite difficult that is why getting a mentor is a must. But don't easily trust anyone on the internet that broadcast themselves as experienced and successful traders on social media as a lot of scammers are just waiting for their next victim. For me, it is much better to seek a potential mentor that you have personally known, look at the community around you, including your family, friends and coworkers who are into cryptos. It is not necessary to have only one mentor, think of them as board of advisers.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Place of Respect in the Forum. on: October 30, 2021, 04:16:05 PM
People think that it is easy to disrespect or bully a person online like here in this forum as they hide behind pseudonyms keeping themselves out of reach and will not likely to get caught and be punished for cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is much more worse than face-to-face harassment as it can spread like wildfire and become a public rumor creating much more damage to the victim online with the face-to-face it is only a few people involved. For me, we should be nice to everyone as we are all human beings, those rude people needs understanding and compassion as I believe that they are also victims of bully or have a mental health problems.

--snip--

This was happened to me, I was so careless and stupid for not saving my private key or even my recovery phrase in another storage like USB flash drive or write on a  notebook instead. I lost my phone and all the important files and now how can access my online wallet? I even lost three physical wallets that is how negligent I am.  This thread is a must read for all members specially us newbies, this will serve as a reminder and a guide on how to protect our online assets. I must be attentive and careful next time, I have learned my lesson.

Since Pmalek is a bit busy and some are waiting so I will give some words to guess for fun and I will also give merit to those who guessed it correctly. I am also waiting for OP to give the green light for higher ranks to answer but always late haha but anyway, enjoy what I come up with the words to guess. Same rules as what Pmalek’s Complete The Word Game and the words to be guessed are all cryptocurrency related too.

Take Note:
This is not round three but a bonus round until the third round will start. Have fun.

1. b _ _ _ _ c _ _ _ n (one word, 10 letters)
2. e _ _ c _ _ _ m (one word, 8 letters)
3. s _ _ _ _     _ t _ _ _ k (two words, 11 letters)
4. _ _ i _ a _ _   _ e _ (two words, 10 letters)
5. b _ _ _ _ _ n _ _ l _ (one word, 11 letters)
6. s _ _ k   _ _ _ d (two words, 8 letters)

Guess now while we are waiting for PMALEK’S COMPLETE THE WORD GAME ROUND 3.

2. Electrum
4. Private key

I hope i got it right. I hurriedly posted this because with round 2 I guessed a word correctly but i was a bit late. I will try the other words after this.

How I perceive shamm's post is I felt he's been hurt before and humiliated by high ranking members and he's giving advice to us newbies and low ranking members to give importance on equipping ourselves with knowledge first on the forum rules and cryptocurrencies and merit will just follows. I just hope everyone here will respect and understand that not all members here are excellent in written english but we are trying our best to convey our ideas clearly but forgive our grammars and sentence construction as not all are native english speakers. As I notice about this user Shamm, he's irritable and easily offended as I have seen his posts but I admire him for ranking up so fast he just joined here this year and that is remarkable.

Yeah right, the psychological and emotional stress of losing a large amount of money, I have been there myself. But it is not the end of the world, what doesn't kill you make you stronger hahaha. After all, investments involve some degree of risks, just use caution in investing decisions and watch out for fraudulent digital asset and crypto trading websites.

Fiat money is still the safest asset you can have because it is backed by government and it is still the legal tender that is accepted in all types of businesses. Those people who prefer bitcoin over fiat, I admire for their courage to invest all, though bitcoin is the most successful and the largest cryptocurrency in the world but it still not declared as legal tender except in El Salvador and we know bitcoin has a volatile value. While I agree with you that there is nothing bad on investing the fiat money that is resting in your bank account, just enough that will surely can't affect your living expenses.
32  Economy / Reputation / Re: Post your Ranking Up Celebration Here! on: October 26, 2021, 09:19:54 AM
In my opinion, this is a good idea to avoid clutter in this forum. There are thousands of threads already and some have redundant topics. Well, it is not a bad thing to celebrate, express and post your success to motivate others but it will be nice if it is just in one page and we can just read them all. All senior members here, you are all our mentor and role model and we are glad to read all your experiences and share your knowledge so that we will know we are on the right track.
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest only what you can afford to lose still on: October 26, 2021, 07:12:58 AM
I have read this several times in this forum the golden investment rule to  invest only what you can afford to lose. It is to protect your assets from risk and volatility and also your heart from breaking because of regrets. Kidding aside, always know that cryptos, even those coins that offers utility are still highly volatile asset. Also, be updated with the latest cryptocurrency and bitcoin news, it can help a lot for decision making on investment.

There is no need to repeat my answer, one respond is enough to make you understand.
You are talking about self reliance when our discussion is about learning from other's experience. That is my point I want impart with you. Yes I understand what you mean, I just wanted to reiterate that learning from other's mistake is way better than having to go through the bitterness of punishment and regrets before you can learn a lesson. Cheers! Wink

37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from others experience on: October 25, 2021, 08:14:52 AM
It's common sense, everybody knows that you cannot learn if you don't admit and own your mistakes. It's very basic actually. Nobody learns when they don't even acknowledge their own mistakes.
But if you simply acknowledging your own mistake and carry on as before, your still in danger of repeating the same mistake again. Put those lessons into practice and careful with your choices, read again and again the rules and follow it by heart.
Yes, you can learn faster but not all people has the ability to listen and remember the advices from someone who committed mistakes. Some has been taking it for granted. What's the purpose of learning faster from others mistakes if you don't even know how to admit your own mistakes and learn from them? We need experience to understand. You can't always rely on others because they are not always there for you when you need advices. You need to learn to stand up on your own feet without anyone's help because they cannot help you all the time and i also wanted to add that there is nothing wrong in relying on yourself.
Yes, I agree that you can learn the most from your own mistakes, it can give you the required experience and the intense feeling of regret that you will never ever do it again. But is it much wiser by learning from the others than suffer the consequences of committing those mistakes? Why wait for yourself to stumble than watching the other so you can make careful choices?
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from others experience on: October 25, 2021, 07:40:36 AM
I have made one stupid mistake because of the greediness which is joining an airdrop or giveaway thread. I was momentarily banned for 7 days. I've learned so hard and I don't want to repeat it again. I've lost a chance to join great bounties because of that mistake. Sadly, some people make a bigger mistake by making alternative accounts. I just want to say that people should really read the rules. They're trying to overcome a mistake by doing another mistake. You can be banned permanently if you make the secondary accounts after that ban, that's why it's better to wait patiently and read the rules while in the punishment period. I hope people read this and learn from my mistake. Cheers.
At least that mistake turns into a valuable life lesson and makes you wiser. A mistake cannot be corrected by doing another mistake. Everybody deserves a second chance and this time you know better. This will also be serve as a warning or guide to us members to not give in with our greed and make better choices.
39  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 24, 2021, 04:23:02 AM
Bitcoin reaching it max supply does not change anything. Those who believe in the use of crypto and have applications for its advantages will continue using it. Fiat will co-exist because not every person will be able to use or own crypto.
Bitcoin popularity are growing everyday and more investors are betting that it will become mainstream asset in the future and they begin to stockpile bitcoin. And global crypto adoption has taken off and some countries may likely to follow El Salvador to declare bitcoin as legal tender though there are also some countries banning it. But still there are billions of people in the world and bitcoin has a limited supply, what will happen then? How can you say that it does not change everything?
40  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 24, 2021, 03:27:10 AM
Though the current generation tends to put crypto as a store of value more than mode of payment. This comes from the rise in price due to speculation. I agree that supply and demand play a role but there should be a balance between using it as currency and storing it.
That should have been the case but here in my country bitcoin is not recognized as legitimate currency yet and no merchants accept bitcoin as payment. But since my country has embraced cryptos and installed a reliable platform that protects crypto customers and also encourages bitcoin uptake, then it becomes easy for us to invest and make money with bitcoin.
