21  Economy / Scam Accusations / iDice is a SCAM on: June 15, 2017, 03:07:55 PM
I've already posted this in altcoin discussion. But watch out for iDice.  They are still fooling people.  Used stolen pictures for their developer page, and then deleted it from their site.  Also locked down their own ANN thread, but have recently created a self-moderated thread (see below) which will reject real replies.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1967358.0

Every reply was was made my a fake account made on the same day. April 12, 2017.

The mods should do something about this.

Well said, won't last forever. People need to realize they should only invest in products that are innovative.  Many aim to accomplish the same thing in a different way.

Bitcoin has time on it's side.  Not to mention many physical and online retail merchant acceptance.

Ethereum is a replacement to bitcoin, but its price is being pumped by ICOs.

I hope this stays up.  Sad to see people lose their money.  iDice is also putting out paid press releases to further promote their scam.

iDice is no doubt a scam.

They are still making money from people unaware.

This is why as an investor I'm more interested in innovative platforms that bring something new to the table.  There are so many coins that are just clones with a different name.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ongoing ICO's ? on: June 12, 2017, 03:54:56 AM
Why I did not find ICO Idice, in the ongoing ico list. I read in thread they have started ICO
Start date: June 06, 2017
End date: June 30, 2017
Is this obviously a scam?
What happened ?

iDice is now a certain scam.  I created a warning thread for it.

There's no way I would trust all of that at once in an online exchange.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / iDice ICO SCAM! on: June 12, 2017, 02:36:49 AM
It has been pointed out that iDice is a likely CERTAIN scam.  Please consider before you invest.  Just read the announcement thread for proof, which suspiciously enough, is locked now.

They removed pictures of their own developers from the crowdsale site after it was pointed out that they stole pictures from other accounts.

Also, they seemed to have started their ICO 5 days earlier than announced in an attempt to make as much money as possible before people find out.

There is still one important detail which is not mentioned in the Whitepaper or Announcement Thread.

What is the house edge? This detail should be publicly available to everyone.

A Slack or Telegram Channel is needed for better coummunication

House edge says 1% in whitepaper. "Token holders are exposed to each bet that is processed on the
platform with the advantage of the 1% house-edge always being in their favor."

Your Maths skills are on point. But since iDice is a dividend paying token, I'd say It's a win win for everyone. The only type of project with a shitload of dividend per token is Taas or Iconomi. Those are Fund management projects, iDice isn't. Your original investments (where you got ~3000+ tokens) isn't in the waste bin as You can sell when iDice becomes available at exchanges. So yeah, This will be profitable for investors.

Good point, and its token value may also raise favorably with investors because of it's unique guaranteed dividends.

So iDice tokens are like dividend stocks in the real world? seems like a good investment then

Pretty much, but the dividend profit relies on the scalability of the platform, which with multiple mobile os support looks promising.

I don't see how this is mathematically profitable to the average investor.

For example, Primedice (according to dicesites.com) has 2,772 BTC wagered through it's site since the end of May.  Extrapolated for a months time would be about ~12,000 BTC or approximately $34 million a month.

With a house edge of 1% you would have an expected profit value of $340,000 a month, which is a significant amount of money, if you own all of the tokens and get 100%.

However, $5000 investment of ETH (~19 ETH as of today) would only yield 3800 tokens assuming you got it at the best price.  (200 tokens / 1 ETH first hour).

Lets assume all 5 million tokens are sold.
3800 tokens is only 0.076% of the total 5 million available tokens (about $6.5 million at first hour price).

So if it was as popular as Primedice, 0.076% [of $340,000] would only net you ~$258 a month.

That is a full 19 months before you even make back your original investment of $5000!

Don't forget this is all under the assumption that idice would even become as popular as Primedice (been around 4 years) and would also do so instantly.
