21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ethereum still a viable alternative to Bitcoin? on: January 01, 2022, 12:13:43 PM
Both ethereum and Bitcoin are at a stable price right now, ethereum still maintained its almost 4k price and bitcoin rely on around the 50k region but those investors looking for quick profits are looking for better options between the two so should one remain with Bitcoin or should look for another option like ethereum so what will you advise for a new investor.

I don't think that it's fair to call ETH a BTC alternative.

It simply offers something completely different to BTC if you think about it - ETH is by nature a smart contracts protocol that allows people to do lots of creative transactions (although with the high gas fees it might not be that feasible).

BTC is a store of value and people are meant to hold for the long run, and transact occasionally.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Your Expectation About Polygon (MATIC) Token for 2022 on: January 01, 2022, 12:00:50 PM
I think that it will probably outperform ETH itself.

There is simply a lot of demand for MATIC right now because of the DeFi applications, they are pretty much only useable to retail investors through the Polygon network because of the gas situation on ETH.

But it also depends on ETH2.0, and how much that is able to scale ETH and facilitate cheap transactions. If successful, MATIC's use case would be greatly diminished.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polygon co-founders say they've gotten rid of C-suite positions on: January 01, 2022, 11:41:56 AM
Completely agree.

The level of transactions that the Polygon network is facilitating encompasses a lot of DeFi activity right now, which is probably one of the areas that are currently being cracked down by tax authorities.

These people don't care that much about decentralization, in fact, most altcoin devs do not.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your perspective on a new casino on: January 01, 2022, 05:12:04 AM
There are a lot of casinos coming here everyday and most of them are really not worth to try in my opinion. I have been active in the gambling section for the last few months, possibly for the last year. I have observed many sites but didn’t find a lot of good projects. Only a few were worthy to check out and play. What do you do? Join and try your luck on the new casino or join only if you see them lasting for long?

I don't join any of them until they are mature enough, have a sig campaign, or have an existing team that I know and trust.

This is simply because of the fact that I don't want to risk my capital on an unproven site when I can get just as good of an experience from some other site.

And a lot of the times the bonuses that they offer initially don't pan out for the player, and there are obviously plenty of exit scams too.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptospace speculations for 2022 and the future by Cobo group on: January 01, 2022, 05:05:14 AM
Those are all very interesting predictions.

I think that their thinking are all constrained by the buzzwords of 2021 though, namely NFTs, DeFi, DAOs, GameFi.

There is obviously a good chance that these things will continue to grow into the future, but there is equally a chance that something completely novel that hasn't been explored before as a use case of blockchain technology comes into play and is just completely ignored for now.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital asset is for holding on: December 31, 2021, 01:40:47 PM
I think that is actually a wrongful assumption to make.

Especially with the advent of DeFi and such, digital assets should not just be held stagnant in a wallet but rather used in transactions, financing, and investments.

But perhaps stores of value like BTC is meant for holding given that it has no intrinsic yield making properties.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Robert Kiyosaki expects a market crash and economic crisis - do you believe it? on: December 31, 2021, 01:12:42 PM
Man has 1 hit book and everyone believes his mantra instantly.

If you believe his doom and gloom mentality then you would have missed out on one of the biggest bull markets in history, and thousands of percent in ROI.

I don't believe that a crash would necessarily happen but I do believe in the insidious effects of inflation, which are very well documented.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: To be financially well and healty you need to find fund manager on: December 31, 2021, 12:56:12 PM
No.

Getting a fund manager when you don't have a lot of assets under management is probably the single best way to make sure that you stay poor.

They tend to charge exorbitant fees that simply eat away at returns in the long run. Avoid like the plague.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: IRS says stolen property and bribes must be reported as income on: December 31, 2021, 12:38:15 PM
This is beyond absurd.

Do they expect criminals to reveal all their wrongdoings for the greater good? What is even the point of saying this anyway?

They must be high when they wrote this law - legitimately. Or perhaps they unironically thought that it would be a good profit-making undertaking to include these two paragraphs. Wouldn't be surprised either way.
30  Economy / Economics / Re: The Crypto Rich Are Flocking to Puerto Rico on: December 31, 2021, 12:30:52 PM
Not sure how sustainable this is.

The U.S. government is probably going to impose sanctions on it sooner or later in order to stop this from happening.

Personally at least, this is just not a worthwhile trade off. I'd rather be able to see friends and family than to save a couple hundred thousand bucks.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: December 30, 2021, 12:46:25 PM
Yes, in my opinion.

MANA and SAND don't have fully functioning ecosystems, and it is unlikely that they will be able to compete with Facebook's proprietary metaverse. So I'm not sure why people would be flocking to invest in these protocols.

It's all narratives and pumped up prices for now, until there is real utility to the things on these platforms.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons that Metaverse still has huge potential , but not at $sand $gala on: December 30, 2021, 12:26:30 PM
After the insane explosion of $sand which grew from 0.03 to 6.6 at the moment I'm writing. more than 200X growth, seems people are considering this is the end of metaverse and began to focus more on #web 3 #layer 2 etc. But I think Metaverse still have a long way to go.

The real Metaverse for me is not just about virtual land or paly 2 earn but a bridge to connect the virtual world to the reality.

Points raised by Metabase Network is very useful as the reference of Metaverse ecosystem
1. VR device will be a necessary part of Metaverse
2. A healthy and complete economic system in Metaverse is crucial for agricultural and industrial use
3. Key point now is how to build an infrastructure to includes VR, AI, Blockchain to achieve the real form of Metaverse which contains: identity, friends, immersion, low-latency, diversity, in time, economic and civilization.

In short, we need a metaverse public chain. I'm waiting for a wise team start to working on this or I will bet on the current public chain now if any of them can realize asap that Metaverse is the answer LOL.

Do you think that any existing blockchain platforms would be able to innovate fast enough to keep up pace with these things?

I agree that Metaverse is the future, but I simply think that current projects are way too overvalued given their status in the long run.

E.g. it is much more likely that the profits in this field with VR headsets will be made by chipmakers, software companies, and AI technologists instead of on some random game based metaverse.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2022 Shiba Inu (SHIB Token) reaches 0.1 DOGE? on: December 30, 2021, 12:11:14 PM
Dogecoin managed to show itself as a coin that is at the top of Coinmarketcap. The success of Dogecoin surprisingly seems to be currently being followed by Shiba Inu (SHIB Token). Many people are currently hunting for Shiba Inu because they think they will experience the same thing as Dogecoin. Will the Shiba Inu (SHIB Token) reach the price of 0.1 DOGE? Or Shiba Inu (SHIB Token) will not increase in price until 0.1 DOGE.

Oh, please.

We've had enough of these crazy predictions for SHIBA price for this year.

Even a $0.01 SHIBA would mean that its market cap will be higher than any crypto in the entire world - do you think that is possible? Or do you think that it's just a pipe dream?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Expanding DeFi on: December 30, 2021, 11:56:01 AM
I think that there is real potential with the STEEM platform.

People seem to have forgotten how dominant it was as an altcoin - it even surpassed LTC market cap at one stage, and top content creators were being rewarded $20k+ for their posts.

I think that after DeFi, there will be tremendous hype when it comes to blockchain based media, which Steem clearly is the dominant player right now.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling company's responsibility on: December 30, 2021, 11:42:06 AM
Some company give gambling licenses. Curacao company, UK gaming company (UKGC), Danish Gambling Authority etc. Curacao Company licensed some prominent betting sites. Do they monitor after giving license? Now a days a lot of betting sites have  gotten license from Curacao but their support is not up to the mark. Even some betting sites scam with customers. Even this forum we have seen some gambling sites negative review.

The licenses are useless.

It is all about the reputation of the gambling site in question, and the team that is behind the project.

This is because the regulatory authorities in Curacao is simply not going to go to the lengths of helping you get your money back if something does go wrong - they just collect the license fees and that's it.
36  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉Owl.games🦉Sportsbook & Crypto Casino For Web 3.0 - BTC-Metamask-Walletconnect on: December 29, 2021, 11:50:24 PM
This type of casino catches my attention, really when it comes to establishing a link to metamask, even though from everything I have heard of some scams that have been done through the metamask wallet, I think that OP should offer a secure link or something that you assure your clients that their operations will remain safe, of course it is only a suggestion, nothing unimportant, and it is also only for altcoins? I understand that for BTC it is necessary to have so that it can be on the main gambling board here in the forum.

I guess that is something that they are actively trying to do - to move away from the BTC structure.

I personally agree with you though, I think that BTC fees right now are way lower than ETH and it's just much more convenient.

It would be a real shame if people with <$500 cannot feasibly play on the platform because of high gas fees etc.
37  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bethub.gg | The world of High Stakes! 👑 on: December 29, 2021, 11:40:55 PM
Site looks great!

I was just wondering exactly what your value proposition is and how you plan on competing with the more established names in the industry?

Having a well-designed site is only a starting point. Do you have whales that are established on your site, do you have a very large bankroll, high limits on esports etc.?
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: December 29, 2021, 10:40:56 PM
I am out from stake.com site because I faced bad experience with this gambling site where my account got banned with unknow reason and loss my money there, you can see with many people faced problem their account suddenly banned in stake.com and they not responsibility with how much fund in your account and never refund back, last days my friend win from sport betting site on stake.com and on the morning he got his account was banned without unknow reason and I am so sad he has 400$ in his account before banned.

This is not good for Stake.com, they have a lot of complaints in the scam section already, in the past some were addressed, and the exclusion has become a big issue, there are 3 or 4 complaints about their exclusion system, they should address this and make an official announcement these are minor complaints but since it's snowballing and it will become a big concern if not addressed immediately..

I mean it is hard to maintain the integrity of the exclusion system, let's give them that.

But a lot of the things that has been raised is clearly their fault and they need to take responsibility for those.

It does seem quite disingenuous to not address any of these ethical and legal concerns. Feels like dodging questions to me.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: December 29, 2021, 10:09:11 PM
I believe that there will be a shift in focus to more P2P gameplay.

Most of the casinos right now are centralized, and as a result not very secure.

Gambling dApps can solve a lot of issues regarding KYC and transparency that traditional centralized casinos simply cannot address.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why should Gambling be legalized ? on: December 29, 2021, 10:03:56 PM
The biggest reason imo is just that people are more likely to be offered some form of consumer protection.

E.g. they are able to play at a provably fair casino that is regulated instead of a shady one in some street corner.

That, in my opinion, is the best thing that the government can do instead of restricting all access to gambling.
