21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does CEX.IO "lend" it's miners to others? on: December 07, 2013, 07:17:41 AM
Would you suggest I invest my btc into it instead of have them sitting in a wallet? Because that's pretty much where they are right now...

After running some numbers I found that for every bitcoin you invest into Ghash on CEX.IO you get .1 back... This doesn't make any sense because people are trading all the time! Someone please explain to me how it could possibly be so overpriced and people still buy into it in huge quantities. Is my math wrong? They are currently selling a GHS/BTC for .075 bitcoins... which would yield about .007 BTC at this current difficulty.

I'm having the same frustration. XD The system is there for a reason though. It only takes 4 hours to get access if you are actively posting though. Obnoxious but not too bad.

Quick question if I may ask... How does one obtain this "Activity"? Just by posting and commenting? My tip would be to use the mining calculator for everything :p I use it ALL the time. Here it is --->http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/

You can obtain 14 activity points by making 14 posts. To gain more, you need to wait some weeks.

And replies count as posts? Thanks for the information!

Does anyone think the same thing that happened in April is happening again? People are so frenzied and terrified they are mass selling causing latency on sites like MtGox to go up. This latency depreciates the liquidity of bitcoins and in turn bringing the price down. I want to buy at its lowest but who knows when its going to stop dropping. If it gets to 400 I am buying!

26  Other / Beginners & Help / Have a mining setup? Want to make some money? on: December 07, 2013, 06:10:45 AM
I have been doing some research on buying some mining hardware to increase the hash rate of my setup. At the moment I am only pulling in 10.7 Ghash from my ASIC blade. I did come across in my research that people were selling contracts where they would assign their miners to a requested worker for a price. I though this was a cool idea and would like to try it out a little bit. If anyone here is interested in renting their hardware to me I am willing to pay $.65 per Ghash per day you can provide! This type of contract has benefits for both renter and rentee!

The renters benefits include that I would be paying you for the services which your miner would be hashing for the time being. You don't have to hassle with MtGox to sell your bitcoins and I am giving you immediate payment before the services. I am also paying a generous amount for the hashrate (about 25% greater than the current market price, but of course that's changing all over the place right now).

I would benefit from this agreement because I do not have to worry about hardware issues, paying for power, software configurations, or other problems of that matter. Which if you have miners already set up it should be pretty easy to switch them to my worker!

Obviously it is hard to trust people we don't know online. That's why I would like to start out with 1 day contracts where the most either parties could only lose about 1 USD. But if the agreement works well and you want to keep renting at a fair price I would be willing to pay for higher hash rates for 1 or 2 week terms. It is in the interest of the renter to not rent for more than 2 weeks because if the value of bitcoins go up then I should be paying more for your services.

If you like the idea message me here! If anyone notices flaws in my logic or has reasons for why my terms are unfair please give me some feedback! It would be much appreciated.
