Actually tonight's games were really competitive. I wasn't expecting Lille to put up a decent fight against Chelsea in Stamford Bridge. Maybe they still lost by 2-0 but their effort was promising. This might mean that they would do better in France. But I don't want to believe in this too much as we are talking about a very inconsistent team in general. They are just trying to achieve something in the CL that's all. And Juventus made me surprised by scoring in the first minute already thanks to Vlahovic. But I didn't expect Villarreal to give up and they still drew with them by 1-1. But this is still an advantage for Juventus of course.

Nantes got a really huge win against PSG today. They didn't have everything under control maybe but they still fought really hard against PSG. And they got the product of their effort. This huge 3-1 win must be really meaningful for them because they defeated the best in the league. At PSG side, Neymar scored the only goal and the assist belonged to Messi. And Neymar missed a penalty after that also. Maybe if this penalty ended up with a goal, then things would have been more different. But I congratulate Nantes on their huge win.
PSG is also still active in the CL. It is therefore possible that they have sent a slightly less team onto the field today, to avoid injuries related to the game next week which is much more important. They will become champions in France anyway, that's not even the question anymore. I think they may have been afraid of getting injured and that game in the CL is much more important, the interests are much greater there. We're doing Nantes short by this misconception I think. I haven't seen the lineups of either team, but even if PSG wouldn't have a few stars playing, they still have a reserve bench that will become champions of France. Everyone expected that you would continue to win this match. It would have been close if it had been 2-0 for Salzburg at halftime Bayern Munich has actually played a very disappointing game and is still lucky that it does not have an advantage. Bayern is of course much, much better, at least on paper, but Salzburg will not give up easily and who knows, there may be a stunt in the making. The defensive side of Bayern Munich is also far from solid and there are opportunities for Salzburg. If they come up quickly with 0-1 and also I will give them a chance in Munich. Too bad they couldn't get that 1-0 across the finish line. It is a semi home game for Salzburg, because it is not very far from Munich. |

Yeah, you'd have to see Arsenal as favourites for fourth. They have 3 games in hand over Man U, and are 4 points behind, but also have a slightly better goal difference. Even a win, a draw and a defeat across those three games in hand would likely see Arsenal move to fourth. I'm skeptical that Man U will be able to maintain that position, it seems like they owe a lot of it to de Gea's inspired form at the moment.
Compared to other teams arsenal does have a great chance to get into position 4, because it has several postponed matches, but even so it is not impossible that arsenal can get out of the top 4 later, because they have postponed matches against big teams like tottenham and also chelsea, when you see Arsenal slightly difficult match against Burnley and Wolves made me not sure if Arsenal could get full points against other teams in the postponed match later. Arsenal sold some important players without signing replacements, that alone is the first piece of their down fall from finishing top 4, when fatigue comes in and when things start heating up more some of their players might fall into injuries and that will really affect their performance and winning games. Any thing can be possible, they can still try to qualify if they can be consistent in winning against smaller teams. Arsenal have already done better than last year in the league. They started somewhat difficult and the season but have recovered well and won a number of games. I don't know what the remaining schedule looks like but normally Arsenal will definitely qualify for the Europa League and maybe even the Champions League. There are something like 4 or 5 teams stronger than Arsenal so I'll put you in 6th place in my rankings. Don't know if that's enough for the Champions League.
