Thanks for your vote of confidence in our project. We plan to work with regulators---they are going to have to adapt to the rapidly changing pace of financial technology. We'll make their job easier, in part because of the exceptional risk management that our Crowd-Banking model provides.

Thanks, we'll take this into consideration.

have been read the thite paper, can not tell what it feels like temporarily, but just think it is unrestrained and formalized. or may be I need to understand it more.

Our white paper is a formal document. Please ask any questions here (or in our telegram or slack channels), and we can explain things in less formal terms. Thanks.

LakeBTC is experiencing some synchronization delay with the Ethereum Wallet Client.

Currently, we are a few hours behind, but we are working to solve the problem.

For users that have made ETH deposits for the LakeBanker Token Sale, your money is safe with us.

For users thinking of participating in Phase 1 of the Token Sale, we recommend early participation to avoid last minute problems.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LakeBanker | Free Banking for the World on: September 08, 2017, 05:47:10 AM
To gauge this project accurately I want to look at lakebtc.com's volume, trends, etc. but there's virtually no way to do this because all info on lakebtc since 2016 seems to have disappeared into a black hole in the English speaking world. The coinmarketcap/other tracking site API is broken, virtually all forum activity and site reviews date back to 2014 and so on. Additionally, I'm not filled with confidence about a token sale for a spinoff that wants to trade 30 currencies when the original platform still won't even support ETH itself before phase 2.

Will we see LakeBTC itself make improvements to match this ICO (and ideally ahead of it)? Is there a roadmap on that side?

LakeBTC.com is now listed on coinmarket cap. Our trading volumes are available to view:

https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/lakebtc/

ETH deposits have already been enabled and ETH trading is in testing mode. It will be enabled soon (along with LTC, ETC and XRP)

LakeBanker's ICO is in Phase 1 right now---Small cap with a huge discount to encourage early participation.

This is a real project backed up by one of the world's leading crypto exchanges (LakeBTC.com has 10 million user accounts created from 162 countries---we trade tens of millions of dollars worth of crypto each day)

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralised! Really? on: September 08, 2017, 05:18:13 AM
Many ICO these days says decentralised, but usually have their own central software for using that technology or product, rather than writing in smart contract.

The only thing written in smart contracts are the coin distribution, etc.

Then why these are called decentralised?

Or am I missing something?

P.S. I am learning, so any relevant info is appreciated!

Decentralized, safe, fast and secure are the keywords everyone is using.

Those ico are often bullshit.

Right. The Whitepaper explains exactly how they are decentralized and MORE IMPORTANTLY why decentralization is good for the project in terms of how it will actually make money. If it doesn't, the project is just empty marketing and buzz words.

Exponenential Growth

One advantage of our Crowd-Banking model is that it leverages network effects that encourage the LakeBanker system to grow exponentially. When we enter a country, a single LakeBanker can service roughly ten users. The system encourages users to themselves become LakeBankers and offer services to others. Thus, once inside the system, those ten users can service a further hundred, who can then service a further thousand and so on. As more LakeBankers join the network it becomes more valuable—there is more geographical coverage/saturation and faster matches with user requests through our app. A more valuable network attracts more users which in turn attracts more Lake- Bankers to meet that demand. The cycle continues and the network grows exponentially:

this is an ideal situation, in fact, it is easy to borken chain in the middle if the incentive is not enough

Indeed. We retain 25% of the tokens (125,000,000 BAC) as a USER GROWTH FUND. That can be used to incentivize new LakeBankers and encourage exponential growth.

The heart of the crowd-banking model is that users can get backing services from the platform, but they can also earn fees by supplying banking services to others. So every additional user makes the system more valuable to others.

It's similar to something like Facebook: every time a new user connects, they make the social network more valuable to everyone by uploading content that others can see.

This is what encourages exponential growth.

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of ICO ban in China on: September 08, 2017, 05:03:11 AM
China will eventually introduce sensible regulations and lift the ban. The national government is keen on risk management but they do not want to kill innovation.

I think they had to introduce the temporary ban because things were getting too hot, traditional scammers (pyramid schemes etc.) and organized crime were starting to get involved in ICO. China will hit these guys hard, but eventually, they will give the good guys some space to work.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with the big amount of possible upcoming scam ico's in future? on: September 08, 2017, 04:59:37 AM
This is very good for people who are interested in ico and trading. But this is very unlikely when who are not sure which ico project will scam or shittcoin. If denouncing a project without proof is false.

The main problem is that it is almost impossible to know from the beginning if a ico is scam or not, usually the scam is relieved months after they ico.

Some thoughts about this:

If there is a new project and devs/OP looking for 30 - 100 mio market cap, I ask my self who would possible need that much money to get a business/project running? There might be few out there introducing complex, new technologies based projects that "really" require big funds but no1 can tell me that 80% of the 800+  needs 30+ mio to do something. That seems insane to me. Some projects collecting even more 100 - 200 mio. and there is literary nothing behind the project. Some are just copy/paste with slight adaptions that do not even require more than 2 devs in best case and the real " value" will never exist as its real purpose will be just to trade/gamble the coin.

For what is that much money needed? Ask that question yourself before investing in any ico asking more than 30+ mio.

There are some ways of knowing surely.

If an ICO is coming from a real company and the project is already at an advanced stage, then it will almost never be a scam. I don't just mean any registered company, but one that actually generates serious revenues and profits. Because then the company has too much to lose by running a bad ICO.

Our company is LakeBTC: we're a major crypto-exchange (we trade 10s of millions of dollars each day). There's no way we'd risk the reputation of the LakeBTC exchange by running a scam ICO.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new and promising altcoin? on: September 08, 2017, 04:39:16 AM
Am actually new on bitcointalk, I want to know if there are new and promising altcoins

To be clear for you who is still a newbie in this forum, you will definitely receive so many responses here with various altcoins of choice. Expect this because there are so many coins and people here have their own choices. And in the end, you will be confused as to who is really telling the truth. So you still need to verify them through your own research.

Good point! What things do you advise to look out for when doing research regarding different altcoins? What are the key pointers to consider?

(1) The developmental stage of the project (is it just an idea or do they have a successful business already?)
(2) Resources/Corporate partnerships etc.
(3) Integration of the coin/token into the business model

Best place to find info. about 1-3 are in the formal whitepaper.

Ultimately these are business proposals, where the coin should be very closely connected to the success of the business. If the WP doesn't contain good answers to 1-3 and instead just has a bunch of marketing BS about "Blockchain" or "Decentralisation", avoid it.

For a good example of an upcoming ICO with a real business proposal, great resources and advanced developmental stage check out the LakeBanker project ANN thread and formal whitepaper

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] LakeBanker | Free Banking for the World (Phase 1 ACTIVE NOW) on: September 08, 2017, 02:04:47 AM
then we want to see what the next days so bring to investors . there are very large plans.
since I have also invested a little bit gladly these news of course . continue good work and much success

Thanks. Yes our Phase 1 discount has attracted investors. But it has a small cap (just 2% of the total token supply). If Phase 1 oversells before September 15, 2017, 3pm UTC we will allocate tokens pro rata to make sure everyone can get some BAC tokens at the lowest price.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LakeBanker token (BAC) on: September 08, 2017, 02:01:37 AM
Our Crowd-Banking platform has been running in Beta within LakeBTC for 1.5 years. The plan to spinoff LakeBanker as an independent company and launch a token sale to fund its expansion came after we realized the system has the massive potential of the model revolutionize the outdated banking sector.

Full details in our formal whitepaper
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there any Signature campaigns available for Newbies??? on: September 07, 2017, 10:46:11 AM
LakeBanker's ICO is a spinoff from long-standing crypto-exchange LakeBTC.com. We have 10 million user accounts created from 162 countries.

The LakeBanker "Crowd-Banking" system has been operating in Beta for 1.5 years and already generates revenue. Now the system is ready for the world. This is a real project backed up by one of the world's leading crypto exchanges.

Phase 1 of our Token Sale is active now. We're offering 2% of our tokens at a massive discount in return for getting the community involved.
Phase 2 will be held in mid-October.

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO projects: for profit companies or charities? on: September 07, 2017, 09:57:00 AM
Some ICO projects operate just at the level of grand ideas for using Blockchain to change the world for the better. Very often, it's far from clear to investors how these projects actually plan to make any money.

We wrote an article about this issue, comparing our own project, LakeBanker, with Humaniq's recently successful ICO.

You can check it out on medium: https://medium.com/@andrew.mccarthy/charity-or-finance-humaniq-vs-lakebanker-155d9dc3d63

Feedback welcome.

Mostly for charities but you never can tell which are not because a free market without any regulations seems to kinda hard to carry out even a basic due diligence of the project. Furthermore, people buying into these ICOs are happy to see them as trading robot and not necessarily concern about the use cases, business model, target market and competitive analysis of such ICOs before investing in them. Also to be considered is the problems the projects would solve and how tha heck they'd solve that problems while having business model focused on that. But it's so unfortunate that most of these ICOs see the millions they're raising as a sort of business model and investors seem to be too blind to see that. Terrible!

Great analysis. But when you look deeply into some of these projects they are nothing but grand ideas with no substance behind them. Researching the the whitepaper is the best strategy. Do the whitepaper even attempt to explain how they will actually make any money? If not, there's no long term value in the token, even if the token is well-integrated into the platform.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs with a referral system = red flag? on: September 07, 2017, 09:49:30 AM
There are WAY more important things to look for than a referral program:

LakeBanker's ICO is running a referral program as part of a wider bounty campaign, but we're a spinoff of a major exchange LakeBTC. We trade 10s of millions of dollars a day. We're a big business. There's no way we'd risk the reputation of our LakeBTC exchange by running a scam ICO.

Referral program means nothing. Every project needs to find ways to get the community incentivized. Check existing business, resources, potential corporate partners, the developmental stage of the project etc. These are all MUCH more important than a referral.

If you’d like to know more about our project, check out our ANN thread and formal whitepaper

How many BAC are bought until this moment? In your opinion, approximately how many BAC will be bought on September 15, 2017, 3pm UTC?

The cap is so low low for Phase 1 we're not releasing live sale data. We'll do that for Phase 2 probably.

Demand is strong so far. The price is so low that there's a chance to make a 1300% profit by investing early. People are buying becuase of that and other reasons. So we think there's a good chance that we'll sell the whole 2% before September 15, 2017, 3pm UTC.

We are happy to announce that LakeBTC.com plans to enable trading of ETC and XRP in the near future. More details to follow.
