Damn those first buyers got it cheap. I would buy 100m grain if i wouldn't be at work atm. This sux.
I doubt. There is only 700m in existence ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) So true. They are buy orders, not bought coins. Good good.

Actually, not much, I am mining with 2.1M for 12~14 hours/day, so, average rate is around 1.3M
You sure you got 2.1MH/s? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Those blocks have been gotten in a pretty short timeinterval. With 800kH/s i get around 1½/h. Usually even less than one (yea, bad luck, sadly).

I get 820kh/s on my 290
surely a 290x should be the same, if not higher? and you guys are saying 780 is high?
I'm getting 880 stable on my 290's ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fr93Srsl.png&t=663&c=Y3OpAOKTc1s5xg) wow, is that temperature normal for a 290??? I'm not running anything above low 60's (10-270x's) My 290 ran at 96C when mining at 820kH/s (the highest stable I could get, but then again my card seems to be a crappy one. Driver crashes alot when i stop mining and restart etc.) Now it runs at 65C with watercooling and the same 820kH/s. If i increase intesnity the kH/s decreases. Sux...

I began with XSPC pump/reservoir combo. First one was faulty and so was second one. Then i desided to go with EK. Best choise i made. Now I use EK D5 pump and Alphacool reservoir, EK GPU block and EK CPU block. Rads are Alphacool (120 and 240) which are ok. Using 5 fans (3 for the rads, 2 for case intake), all are 120mm 1400rpm Gentle Typhoons. Really quiet setup. And keeps my R9 290 cool. These aren't very cheap, but imo worth it. You don't want to build a watercooling system with low quality parts. If something breaks it might (probably will) break alot of components. Edit: My PC ain't really built for cryptomining, even if I use it for it pretty much. This is more of a budget gaming PC and for me it is important that it doesn't make too much noise as it disturbs me. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

It looks like the pos generation is somehow blocked, so since block 62236 (block 62235 is the last PoS block generated - as mkimid correctly pointed out), only pow block generated.
The PoW blocks generated since followed exactly the target block time:
Block 80128: Jan 7, 19:30:56 Block 63000: Jan 1, 14:32
17128 PoW blocks generated in about 6 days 5 hrs. Theoretical generated blocks = 6*2880 + 5 * 120 = 17880 blocks.
I am still investigating the reasons why PoS blocked. It is weird that this coin changes from PoW/PoS->PoS->PoW/PoS->PoW. Unfortunately all the basic code are from PPCoin/NovaCoin, and only some params have been changed. So the behavior is weird. Maybe keeping it as a pow is OK, at least all the mining is fine with predefined intervals. With PoS the PoW intervals will be altered depending on how frequently the PoS will be generated.
Anyway I am trying to find the cause of it, and will let you know my findings.
If it becomes a PoW-only coin it will probably be a turn-off for most miners. There are plenty of PoW-only coins. No need for another one. So if it's possible to get it fixed then I think it would be the best solution.

Using an ASIC that uses SHA256? Won't work on scrypt based cryptos.

I might have gone with a larger power supply for 3x cards. 2x is fine.
Yea for 3 cards that 1000W is too low. Think the R9 290 uses 300W at full load (I also got the Asus R9 290).

AMD support has stated that 95C is no issue for the R9 290/290X so I wouldn't be too worried about the heat. My 290 ran at 96C when mining at 820kH/s and had no problems except a damn loud fan. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Now it's watercooled and running at 65C on full load. And use 1 GPU thread in the settings, not 2. But with intensity 13 that kH/s is normal.

Really? That's kind of the big draw for me to mine this coin. That's disappointing if true. I'm sure bosian will check it out and fix it and everything will be ok again.

Does this coin will make it on exchange one day ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ? I begin to doubt. This coin is slowly growing. Think it's better this way. Looked at all those new pump & dump coins? Moon for example, it was hyped so much, everyone tried to mine it and it entered exchange almost immediately. Now a week later it's almost dead and current price on exchange is 0.00000001 BTC (1 satoshi) which is the lowest amopunt of BTC that can be used. Don't want grain to be another one of those coins.

Bosian, could you please tell us why there has been no PoS since last year? Something wrong? Also, any idea why http://coinblockchain.com/grain/ has stopped at about the same time PoS stopped coming?

We should really try to find someone who could make a game where you can play using Grains. I would love to gamble with my Grain. If I knew how to do it myself I would do it, but no skills in that area. ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) What kind of games you would prefer? Like dice, wheel or someting else? A slot machine would be really nice, but pretty much anything would work. got in contact with the guys from peerbet. lets see that we work something out together with them. Sounds promising.

Weird. I just added a new address to my wallet, and now my last transaction where I solo mined a block has the name of the address I just created in my wallet. Hope it doesn't mess up my solo mining.
Hmm, maybe you could post a screenshot just to understand better what happened. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpostimg.org%2Fimage%2Ftx0p2fjkd%2F&t=663&c=WTn9O1Z6dqLaLw) You can't see my cursor icon, but I'm hovering over the grain I mined, but it's taken on the address of the address I added to my wallet. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) I just did the same. And yes it shows the mined blocks not any more as (n/a), it then shows the second address of the wallet. Maybe we can have a look at the code to fix this one. This is a totally normal behaviour as far as i know.

Hmm, maybe you could post a screenshot just to understand better what happened. It's totally normal. When you solomine the transactions "come from your own adress" but these addresses are "hidden" until you create a new adress. Dunno how to expain it, but it's totally normal and won't cause trouble.
