So 900$ for a 550$ card?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CJHj54ik7bwCFQ1o7AodfwUAXQ&Item=N82E16814121842&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Desktop+Graphics+Cards-_-N82E16814121842&ef_id=UtRVAQAABR7Jm-ME:20140227214631:s

I'll take all of them.

Given current profitability, it would take 80+ days to pay for each card (at newegg price, not your inflated price.)   I would hardly call that "easily pay for themselves"

23  Economy / Marketplace / PCI-E X1 to X16 Risers via USB3 up for sale on: February 26, 2014, 01:52:04 AM
Hello everyone,

I've started manufacturing powered risers that utilize a USB 3.0 cable instead of bulky x16 cables, or even x1 cables.  They're powered via 4 pin HDD Molex, and can work up to 18" (tested so far, waiting on longer cables)

There are varieties of these being sold on ebay and other sites for $25+,  I can produce them for <=$20$, plus shipping.   I've got enough boards right now to make another 40 or so by hand, but I wanted to find out if there was enough interest in them to sent them out to be assembled in a factory (because soldering 164 pins on a PCI-E connector 500 times is a PAIN)

Here is a final shot of the first 6 I've sold:

They feature NON-locking PCI-e x16 connectors, as I was not able to find locking connectors in QTY's less than 1000, and I have found the non-locking slots fit the cards tight enough that slipping or falling off is not an issue.

Please let me know if you would be interested in purchasing these.   I'm currently working on a re-design that would use a sata->floppy adapter, along with any improvements i can make to board layout, so I don't have a final price but I can guarantee less than 20$/set (plus shipping)

Please post here if you are interested.   If there is a small enough demand I can hand-make from the remaining 40 pieces I have remaining, if there is greater than 100 set interest, I will begin a fresh order using a fab that can assemble everything for me to speed up the process(it takes me 1-2 days to hand assemble everything on the weekend).  I test all sets individually in one of my rigs using two XFX R9 290's and an X1 and x16 slot to confirm they work.   I will be testing a 36" cable shortly.  I have 12" and 18" cables in stock as well.

This thread is to gauge if there is enough interest in mass producing these for the community at a reduced price.

are hash rates expected to be 1/2 -1/3 of regular scrypt mining?  just tried this on one of my rigs, and i'm getting 1.05Mh from 3 290's, vs 2.67-2.72 Mh from the same cards.

1000 doge to the first person that can explain p2p pool to me... here's my question:

I set up a p2ppool node, so i can mine myself on the p2ppool network....
according to this, i should have a few thousand doge over the last hour, but the only payout i've received in the last 10 minutes or so was for 484 doge.  will these payouts come later?  I'm confused how, especially mining on my own node, that the shares/doge payouts correlate.
Yorich,
Did you get 256 Doge before the 484 and 1.04k Doge (1,040-ish) before that?
Even the P2P pool takes a small fee from what you earn...

The only thing I've gotten so far, are the following:

143.205...
92.545...
427.456...
288.160...
and now 484.086... (verifying)

nothing up around 1040, unless you start adding some of those together.  some of those are from a previous run, I had to reboot the host the vm is running on, so stopped the pool for a bit.   Since it started back up all I've seen so far is 484.086.   I'll let it run for 24 hours to see if it starts catching up, but I'm wondering why the pool says i should've received more..  I've also checked the wallet in the pool to make sure it wasn't getting dumped in there...
Yorich,
Your first picture cannot be a payout overview, because it is opdated exactly every 168 seconds and it varies from just over 2 to just over 1k so it can't be the pool difficulty level either. It could be some running estimate of how much you could earn if a block was found right then, based also on the shares you submitted, which are varying a lot over time with the luck that your GPU has in finding matches in the data that it received... The payouts will be based on when a block is actually found, and the reward chosen (between 1 and 1M Doge) so the estimates are just that - an indication of how much you could earn at that point, but depending on the pool hash rate, it may take a while (an hour or so) before a block is actually found and then the reward may still be higher or lower...

Thanks.  I'm running my own node, since most of the ones in a public list had high pings.  If it doesn't improve in the next few hours I'm going to switch back to nut2pool.   From what I read about p2pool, it doesn't matter your hash rate or if you run your own node, since you contribute to the whole p2pppool... so hash rate shouldn't matter, is this not the case?    Can you and the previous guy shoot me your addresses?  I'll tip you both  1k

Update:  SUCH PROFIT! lol so i just had a 773, 1300, and 1100 deposit come in from mining... so it's coming in slowly.  I'll see how it compares in 24 hours to 24 hours on nut2pool.

Edit:

If i click on "payout", i see my address (DQdV2mSh6EQjYxh77dd3vsqDgUZG1CWCo9) listed, and right now it says 561.48512943, but the payout info on dogechain.info does not show any of the most recent payouts besides the ones mentioned.  I'll let it go for 24 hours or so to see if the payments are really 24 hours behind, I was under the impression that once p2ppool payments started showing up, they came in fairly regularly.   I was averaging around 2500 doge / 90 minutes previously on nut2pool....so I'm basing p2pool (maybe i shouldn't run my own node) off that.

Here's my nodes stats page:

ignore the litecoin logo, i haven't changed the image.  please provide doge address with answer.  I'm just trying to determine if this is going to be slightly more profitable than a 1.5 or 2% pool.   Also, what do the Payout #'s really reflect? each time i click the payout tab, it changes.

Thanks!

off topic again, but am I an idiot?   I set up my own p2pool node, since most i could find were ~40ms replies.  I got everything setup, but after mining for 12 hours, did not get one coin (i know it takes time to ramp up).   My question though, should i have been mining at stratum+tcp://192.168.0.39 (my vm running my node) vs just the ip?   Is the stratum missing the reason i didn't get any coins mined?   my node showed hashing activity and my miners showed accepted, but I never received anything, and im wondering if it's because i didn't specify the "stratum" protocol in my miner config.

Question for you guys.

I currently mine on nut2pool, @ 5.3Mh/s.  nut2pool is a Prop pool.   I get ~2k/hour, or thereabouts.   I heard someone mention that netcodepool is a much better reward, as it's a PPLNS pool, but it has a lower hash rate than nut2pool (1.4Gh vs 4Gh/s)   Is it better to swap to netcodepool and their slightly higher mining fee/pplns system, vs nut2pool's PROP payment system?

Looking to get the most reward for my electricity.
Hi yorich,
I am looking into using a proportional pool as failover, since a PPLNS pool will pay only peanuts for occasional contributions.
Still, I am a little lost how large the size of shares is that PPLNS is averaging over, since my meager 210kH should yield about 1800 Doge/day according to calculations and I usually have seen less than that.
Also be aware that there seems to be a bug in the pool software on several pools that promise you double the amount of Doge than you are actually getting. Both the Pool prediction based on the hash rate and the expected earnings per round are double what you actually are getting (for example they promise I get 88 Doge based on the shares I have submitted, but when the block is found I get on average 44 Doge when the reward was indeed 500k, so it seems that the pools are accidentally calculating with the *max* Doge per round instead of the average.
I think that you will get the same rewards at PPLNS pools, once you are through the period of ramping up the shares.

Thanks for the reply.  I did a 24 hour investigation, and it seems your thought is correct.  the PPLNS pool seemed to deliver roughly the same payout, but it was varied, due to the LNS changing.  the PROP pool seems to pay more consistently.  If i had to wager a difference, I'd say it's on order of maybe 100 doge or so, but it's hard to tell since hash rates change all the time, the 24 hour profitability for both was ~ 0.07 btc @ current exchange rates, so i just went back to the PROP pool for now.

The time is now.

Such predictions master. Much impressive.

So is this the deal?

Get ready, we are going to hit the first major drop within the next 1-3 days.

We are in the "return to normal phase"

We are missing the last part, the one that predicts that goes down. Come back in the 1st of March to make sure that you were right.

FUD.   Block halving ~ 2nd-3rd week of february (~19k blocks to go).   we'll see what happens then.  people said the same crap when doge dropped from ~130->37.

Milone,

FWIW, I solved my issue, though I don't know why it works with one version and then not later.  I changed my config's kernel line to:
Code:
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"
, instead of:
Code:
"kernel-path" : "C:\\Program Files\\BFGMiner\\/share/bfgminer"
and it now works in your latest version.   thanks!

Last 3 versions have not worked for me.  I had 1.3.4.3, and it worked great, but 1.3.4.7, 1.3.4,6, and 1.3.4.5 all don't work.  When they launch, everything looks good, but they NEVER start bfgminer.   I get a dos box momentarily that just flashes away, and then CGwatcher says it couldn't start/communicate with bfgminer.  Since 1.3.4.3 is not posted on your site, I had to go back to 1.3.3.3, which works fine.  I tried again going back to any of the above and can repeat the problem.

After this happens (miner flashes then disappears), if you go to Tests tab and click Create Debug Report and email it to me, I can look for a cause. It's impossible to say what is happening without more information. You can also try the latest test build (http://bit.ly/cgw134test) to see if it works any better.

here you go:http://pastebin.com/qVPkpr7v  i dont really care about the passwords=)

FYI, I tried installing a fresh copy of Cgwatcher, 1.3.4.7 (your test copy on your site) and pointed it at one profile, created from scratch, and using bfgminer 3.9.0 x64, same results...bfgminer just flashes on the screen, and i get a message saying it couldn't connect to the bfgminer api.
