There is too much spam in the non-english boards therefore the devs will hire some moderators to take care of the spammers.
Banhammer is imminent Smiley

I agree, if I was fluent in any other language I would have volunteered to be a moderator by now. I think it will be under control soon, and the recent changes to PoS have probably curbed spamming a bit. I am very curious to see what my LTBcoin payout will be, now that PoP algorithm has been changed for more than a week now.

If anyone is interested in reading about what the devs are up to when it comes to moderating the forums, check out this thread:

Figured out the magic word after a lot of effort.
You're a better man than me. I gave up on finding the magic word. I even work with wine, and entered multiple chemicals that are poisonous to humans, and involved in the winemaking process, but none of them worked.

Thanks for your input.

Yes, got my hands on LTBcoin
Awesome Sam, glad you are part of the team now!

BTW, quite  a few new podcasts in the past 24 hours, here's a couple:

Hello,
I'd like to attract more people to the LTB forum, this means more competition for LTBc and possibly a price increase on melotic.
Do you have any ideas as where to advertise or how to spread the word.
Any feedback is welcome.

The easiest and cheapest option I can think of is to advertise for LTBcoin in your bitcointalk signature.
Also if you like a certain crypto related blog/radio/etc, contact the author and see if they will be willing to accept a donation in LTBcoin (To start, I have personally donated to ChainRadio with LTBcoin a few times).

Hi everybody,

Is it already possible to obtain my stake?
Do you advise me to use my Secure Asset Exchange ID or my NXT wallet for the stake?
I see you handed out tokens aswell, did that stop or are you still doing this?

Personally I like the SecureAE because it works similiar to counterwallet, pretty easy to use, and nothing to download. It really comes down to personal preference, although I am sure some may say that the Nxt client is more secure.

Could we not use some to get the nem source Code peer reviewed by leading academic(s) in the field? If we want to be serious about this.. We need to do things properly and that would be a great step in the right direction. We could then summarise the report and have it published across the media and no one will be able to discredit the work of the devs

Great idea, I also think some of the stakes should go to prominent/famous figures in the crypto space. Bitcoin devs, Sunny King, Ashton Kutcher (I swear that guy is into crypto), Joe Rogan, etc.

I think this actually goes against what NEM stands for in that it does not exactly promote fairness for all in the slightest. Giving away stakes to people simply because they are famous is not promoting the ideals of equality that NEM was supposedly built upon. If those people deserve a stake simply because of their name, then what does that mean for the rest of us? Sure, it may turn into a bit of PR buzz, but at the cost of sacrificing the principles upon which NEM was founded. I don't think the PR buzz is worth that much.

We can spread NEM organically simply by making a better technology and cultivating a fair and friendly community. These kinds of PR stunts are what cryptocurrencies that do not innovate have to resort to in order to spread, because they are incapable of spreading any other way. NEM is better than that. Smiley

Maybe celebrities shouldn't be involved, but what about people like Andreas Antonopoulos. If it wasn't for people like him promoting crypto, I think Bitcoin and NEM would not be where they are today. I think it's fine to give some of these people free NEM, and I still think it would promote fairness in the NEM ecosystem.

I've actually been a user of the bitcoin buzz app that had "LetsTalkBitcoin" podcasts in the mobile app with stream functionality.  Then something happened to it the podcasts in the app, as they wouldn't display anymore- but i was using it for months to keep up to date on things. I was very satisfied. It seems like they are pulling in LetsTalkBitcoin Blog announcements into the mobile app instead of only the Podcasts.  I sent them an email, and they responded with the fix to the blog announcements.

I haven't jumped on board with this coin yet, but I've been very pleased with the progress Adam and the LetsTalkBitcoin team has made thus far.

I think the issue was with their RSS feed. I noticed the past couple weeks that the app wouldn't upload certain podcast feeds (and that's also why the latest Beyond Bitcoin podcast didn't show up on the main site till yesterday.). However it all seems to have been fixed yesterday, not sure if your issue was related, but I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.

BTW You say you haven't jumped on board with the coin yet, have you atleast created an account, and submitted some magic words? You might as well, if you are already listening to the podcasts, it's pretty much free money at that point.

The last magic word is almost impossible, I don'l like at all the idea of the quiz...
I listened to the podcast but don't get the riddle.
Too bad.

I have no idea what it is. Its bad, you hear the whole podcast but then they send you on some chase.

I made my last post while running late for work, in my haste I forgot to mention how difficult the magic word is, sorry guys. There is even a thread about how hard this Magic Word is.
http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/how-tough-should-the-magic-words-be?page=1
Join in on the conversation, and earn some LTBcoin!
The reward system is going through some tweaking, it looks like soon Magic Words will work differently as it pertains to the podcaster, and in the future, magic words will probably be much easier to attain for the listener.

As a consolation, the newest LTB podcast is out, and it's magic word is almost too easy to find, so enjoy that:

Hey everyone  Grin

Check out the newest Beyond Bitcoin Podcast:

September 01, 2014 Beyond Bitcoin - 12 - The Future Of Storj

Arthur conducts an in-depth interview regarding storj. I already had an interest in storj before this interview, but now I am simply blown away after hearing all the possibilities and implementations that are planned.

I've been playing a bit with the 1-click-install and so far it's really great. Though, i agree that the whole NIS and NCC is not user friendly. It should be more transparent for the user.

Now that the code it out, is there a security audit (contest) that is planned? (I cant remember seeing this in the discussion). I really think that we should keep a couple of stakes for that.

Finally,  can someone send me some testNEM?

Cheers!

I am sure if you found a security flaw in the code, that the devs would give you atleast a partial NEMstake as a reward.
I don't know any more specifics than that though.

By the way, I sent you some testNEM as well  Smiley

LTB Community Roundup #6
Published on August 28th, 2014 by Mike

While Adam might be taking a much-deserved vacation, things are still in full swing here at Let's Talk Bitcoin with new content and posts from members of our community still flowing in daily.

If you haven't yet registered for the site let me and encourage you take a brief moment and do so. Then head over to the Introduce Yourself thread where you will find a very welcoming and friendly community ready to greet you.

What would you do if you awoke tomorrow and found bitcoin was suddenly gone? How would you react? Chime in with your thoughts.

It looks like Mark Karpeles of Mt. Gox has started a new web hosting company. This isn't his first foray in to that space and it has prompted a discussion regarding his latest venture.

Cash, credit, debit or Bitcoin? When will this be a standard question we here on a regular basis while shopping? This thread has some discussion on the topic.

How did you initially discover bitcoin? Share your experience.

Let's take a moment to look at some other cool things our members are doing. Are you interested in a bitcoin keychain? Did you know that they are for sale via the LTB Auctioneer platform? Check out this thread for full details.

How are you using bitcoin? Where are you are spending your coins, what types or goods or services are you using them actively for? This thread is asking those sort of questions. Drop in and let us know what you are doing with your coins.

As stated in this thread beware of phishing attempts from people trying to steal your coins. I am highlighting this thread because it is important to alert people to attempts like this one that uses fake BitPay invoices. Always be vigilant!

If you are a miner or thinking about mining check out this thread where the question of what you should be mining to stay profitable is being explored.

I hope you'll join me this week in leaving some thoughts on these threads and I'll see you next week for another roundup.

thanks for voting people,
rank 18 now and climbing.
Make sure to log in first and vote everyday  Grin.
And of course, feel free to spread the word.

Wow, now we are up to rank 10. This should end up being pretty easy to get listed here. I am a bit worried about their exchange volume overall for that exchange, but this will still be a great start to getting on more popular exchanges.

Our proper LTBcoin address is: 1J28Z3mk6CNUiuKYdmCXUkwqse8FssGsuM

We are likely going to merge our LTBcoin and bitcoin address soon as we are done accounting for the past month's license fees etc.

I am going to send you a message about NEMnews later this week Smiley

I sent you a little LTBcoin, I'll look out for that message  Smiley

That NIS/NCC thing is a bit confusing, i don't even know if one has to know which one is what, people just want that when you click on the nem client icon, your wallet has to open, simple as that.

Right now, if you don't notice the monitor in the tray, you may go mad quick, mostly because launching the monitor does not open your browser to the the online client. Not even a right click option on monitor to quick open the page. It's like you are so concentrated on the tech part that you forget the obvious  Cheesy

Funny thing is that if u stop ncc and run it again, it does launch the online wallet  Smiley

Now i like that nem is working on a cold wallet (had a bit of a hard time finding where the wallet was stored though lol, c:/users/you/nem/ncc, wallet is *.wlt)

Alpha Client is f*cking great, better than many already launched coins (which i will not mention Smiley)

I also agree with the NCC/NIS naming, it can be confusing at first glance. In my opinion, NCC should be named something more simple, like NEM Client/wallet, and NIS should be something like NEM Server. The acronyms make it look nice and tidy, but most new people will instantly be turned off by it. I think it would be best to relate NCC/NIS to something the average joe has used before. Maybe even just call NCC/NIS something like the NEM package.

But I also agree, that regardless of what it is called, it is working great!
The naming of stuff is what we get to talk about when everything else is running so smoothly  Smiley

Wow.. Gotta say - that client is S-L-I-C-K.. I'm a stakeholder for NEM and NODE, and from what I've seen, the NEM client is definitely nicer to use.. Though this whole NIS / NCC is a bit maddening- couldn't get the one-step installer to work as there was no installation of NCC so far as I can tell.. Otherwise, love it.

Can't wait to watch this grow!

Yeah, and the client is only the beginning...

NEM has a ton of awesome features and infrastructure working down the pipeline (think apps, ATMs, and mobile).  I have said it before, out of all the current crypto coins I believe NEM has the most upward potential. Also, the one click install will probably become a little more clean as we get closer to launch. We could probably help with a little more information.

-EFFV

Personally I have noticed the one-click-install become more intuitive each time I start it up.

The NEM devs are kicking ass with the client. Sure there are still kinks, but it already runs better than most java apps I have used.

P.S I just checked out NEMnews for the first time ever. Is this your site?

Hey sorry didn't see your reply. Yep news.nemcoin is my baby.

EDIT: is your donation address LTBcoin compatible?
