21  Economy / Speculation / Re: A bad idea. on: February 16, 2014, 07:50:32 PM
Since when did something being invisible mean it's non existent
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is the dumper on mtgox ? on: February 16, 2014, 07:28:58 PM
I voted manipulator. Before the dumps there was a spike from 380$ to 540$, probably
the manipulator bought his own coins, and then sold them to create downward momentum.
MtGox should have stopped the trading after seeing this unnatural market movement,
and then resume trading only after withdrawals would resume.
MT Gox should of done so much awhile ago but realistically they are not like legitimate companies.  A proper business looking to be profitable in the future and retain customers would not act with so much disregard.  Mt Gox has put in little to no effort to solve this problem or calm the community so I have little hope in them ever doing anything.  In my mind gox will go to 0 and probably the rest of the community is dumb enough to follow meaning I've lost all my money because it seems I was the only one stupid enough to believe in bitcoin
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: February 16, 2014, 07:22:32 PM
At this point we are more likely to see $0 than anyone paying over half that the way people keep dumping

Only took a few days, I just made the Feb 8th order.  I think I got it on the 12th.

27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Antminer S1 ETA for Feb. 8th batch? on: February 16, 2014, 03:59:40 AM

You will probably have extra trouble with customs, but they're completely legit. It may be a couple of days before you can actually buy one though. They are pretty much out of stock.

That's what I was wondering - what kind of "pain" are talking about from customs?  Are we just talking about  few days of delay?  Or are we talking about something worse?  I've brought stuff in from China before - and not had much problems. But it was clothes and stuff like that.

If customs want an invoice because they don't believe the 120$ on the invoice it might give you problems.

Yeah - that could be a problem, because Bitmain takes payment in Bitcoin.  Do they ship the miner with an invoice that says $120?

I guess what I'm wondering is - has anybody done this ( I know somebody has because I've seen the posts and videos on Youtube) - and what happened?
$28.something cash on delivery.  Everything on Bitmain is sold out now or else I would order another two
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAUNCHED][PND] The Official PandaCoin Launch thread! [Scrypt][NO PREMINE] on: February 16, 2014, 02:08:27 AM
Cryptorush needs to add this so they have 3 Panadacoins listed
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 15, 2014, 06:53:04 PM
A little off-topic, but, how do you find out the day before a coin is going to be launched on Cryptsy.com??

You can't find out the day before, but on the day itself, you will see it on the website. I think there is a twitter account to watch or follow too.
There is some exploit in the system that allows you to see upcoming coins. @cryptocobain has tweeted about it and is always on top of upcoming coins.  I would strongly recommend against using Craptsy, and have a hard time trusting them with any of my coins.  Just hold until you can spend it in dispensary, I like the idea of having a lifetime supply funds for cannabis
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 15, 2014, 06:50:19 PM
And for the record I have only had 4.20 donated so we may just have to look into accepting BTC or DOGE, not many people willing to part with POTCOIN even for a non profit seeking funding in the industry lol.
I just matched that and it looks like some others here already have too, you should post on /r/potcoin, we need to clean up presentation and get a list of organizations.  Something similar to how weusecoins shows you wallets, how to mine and places to spend bitcoin
31  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The End of TOR on: February 15, 2014, 06:44:43 PM
Why would this be the end of TOR anyway
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: MtGox is the Flagship on: February 14, 2014, 11:24:32 PM
Mt gox, too big to fail
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you see the price of BTC above $5000 by the end of 2014? on: February 14, 2014, 11:15:28 PM
is it possible to try to ban straight up trolls, please!! (not OP just fucking lame trolls in general)
fonzie? you can just ignore them is all i guess
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoinity.org/markets - live bitcoin price charts on: February 14, 2014, 04:50:15 AM
Bitcoinity needs to follow the rest of the community in removing Mt.Gox from their tracking or at least remove them as the default reference.
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to go back up guys!! on: February 14, 2014, 04:04:30 AM
I'm going to hold off on getting excited until people start reporting Coinbase is cancelling for 'high risk transaction'
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: And the Downfall continues on: February 14, 2014, 03:35:01 AM
Lets see what happens when you can actually pull you coins out of BTC-e, Gox, And BitStamp.

the Irony is that all the smack talk of being shady that BTCe has lived through they are the most legit..  coins still flowing in and out with no issues.
They did a quick wallet update the other day which was less than a few hours and the only issue they had was DDoS a few times

They've been the smartest folks in the room for a long while

That's why unregulated markets don't' work like a libertarian fantasy, the bad actors do down, but they pull the rest down with them, and BTC has always been dominated by clownishly bad actors.  BTCe might be the smartest person in the room, but is is trapped inside a room full of people that are burning the house down, that ain't a smart place to be.
haha that is hardly the case.  If this were an unregulated market than Americans would be able to enter in instead anyone in a first world country looking to set up is stopped by fees and a mountain of paperwork.  This oppressive regulation keeps honest small players from entering the market and forces them to settle with scam companies like mt gox.

I have a feeling that at BTC-E, incompetence is not tolerated and is dealt with severely. Just saying.

that is because we know BTC-e while pseudo anonymous are not as incompetent.  everywhere else it seems to be private gains and socialized loses.  funny how we all have to pay for the incompetence of what is basically a couple bitcoin central bankers
37  Economy / Economics / Re: How profitable are exchanges? on: February 14, 2014, 03:30:27 AM
Extremely profitable that's why it is so insane that mt gox has not gone through any effort to fix their issue or even offer competent customer relations.
38  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin days destroyed on: February 14, 2014, 03:27:47 AM
Do OP realize that bitcoin is 5 years old. And it costs more than 100$ just from about 1 year.

So your charts are not realy showing why Bitcoin days destroyed ...

as majority countries are banning the bitcoin defo going down back to normal price $20
Any news like that came out well before this crash so to say that is the cause is misrepresentation of actual events.

Does everyone seem to forget that last week we were at the fulcrum when gox shit the bed, took no responsibility and continues to try to point the finger at bitcoin while doing nothing themselves.
39  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will go back to $1,000? And some worries on: February 14, 2014, 03:21:23 AM
I think it will get more stabilized and hit $700 in a few weeks to a month
I just think it would be great if people stopped dumping, at this point I would even welcome $700 which would be huge lose
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin isn't dead, and its not dying. on: February 14, 2014, 03:20:00 AM
You're such a joke I can't stop laughing

to $300, but thats only a 75% correction from the $1200/ath.

early adopters are so insulated from reality and the rest of the world.  how about does dropping over $6B in market cap do for perspective, or now be lower than when China entered the market, there are no positives to be seen here.  Everyone is all to happy to defend gox and absolve them of any blame even though we all know they have been a problem and still no one can get fiat from there.
