Hey Christian.

Quick question, can I use Cudaminer on something like [Suspicious link removed]?

Do I just set it up like normal and bobs your uncle?

well your posting isn't really clear when your URL gets replaced by [Suspicious link removed].

And what on earth does the second sentence mean?  My uncle has no boobs Wink

Christian

"...and bobs your uncle?" = "...and I'm good to go?" It's a North-West  coast American/Canadian thing?

Also, don't think ambient case temp and direct from three video cards heat are the the same thing. Don't pop a cap.

Well lets say i am pulling 7000 khash what should i set my difficulty to?

All on one worker?

Probably 512.  1024 might push your variance a bit high.

The pool does have variable difficulty.  You can also try setting it really low and see what the pool switches it to.

M
No spread out between 5 workers. so should i just set it to 16 and let it do its thing or change to 512?

Difficulty is per worker.  You can set each one to 16 and see what the pool switches you to.  512 will be too much for individual workers.  Keep in mind the higher you set it, the less bandwidth you'll use, but the more variance you get.  So when I say "too much", I mean your variance will be high.  It'll still work though, just like 2048 will.

I use 256 for ~3000kh/s (multiple 280s), and 128 for < 1000kh/s (one 280).

M

Would it be possible to display Worker Difficulty under Worker Summary in the Dashboard on your website?

Anyway, -b doesn't seem to change anything, and -L higher than 1 is slower for me.

That's because MRC is at N factor of 10 which is a max batch size of 2048.  Default batch size is 1024 FYI.

So when Cudaminer goes to launch the kernel it looks at N factor and your -b batch setting and uses the minimum of the two.

BTER, didn't have problems with YAC. Did with Doge. They ignored me, Doge never showed up.
So, sold my YAC and not looking back. With I could remove my account.

Is cudaminer dependent on processor performance to give better hash rates?

with -H 0 and -H 1 options the CPU can become a bottleneck. Otherwise no.
actually for scrypt and scrypt:2048 you get an extra 20khash/s (scrypt:2048) with H1 compared to H2

interesting. -H1 does 4 times more transfers over the PCI express bus than -H 2. Surprising that it's faster. I intend to get rid of all the transfers and do the hash evaluation on the GPU soon (like I do when hashing Keccak). This will allow us to run nVidia cards with 1x connections through risers without performance impact.

Christian

Maybe for users with only one card in a system? Multi-cards = bad?

Those cards on NewEgg are 2GB. With empty surface mounts for chips on the back. Guessing 4GB around the corner?
