Two more tips:

1) you can use the American shipping number with the German DHL site to track once the package is in Germany

2) when the tracking status says that the package is at the customs office you can call at the customs office and pick it up there (bring the money to pay the 19% VAT). No need to wait for the written confirmation from DHL/customs.

just wanted to post my experience from ordering from Butterfly Labs in US to Germany. Might be helpfuls for others who wanna do this.

Timeline:
-Ordered a 50GH/s Miner on 3rd of Jan 2014 on the BFL website
-Payed with Bitcoin via Bitpay, confirmation took only 10 minutes
-They shipped on 4th of Jan and sent me a mail with the shipping number
-Below the shipping log in reverse order. I picked up my parcel at the 17th of Jan at the customs office and had to pay the 19% VAT. So all in all it took 2 weeks.
