21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: December 16, 2013, 11:31:52 PM
I suppose it will, as more people catch on to the crazy profitability altcoin mining gives relative to Bitcoin mining.  Something tells me that that might not be as soon as once thought though, as people are trying to get $500 for their 7950s on eBay.  People won't be seeing much of a return if they're paying that much for hardware.

Also, what settings are you using for the 7870s?  I've tried about everything I can (without going insane), but I guess I probably missed a bunch of possible settings.  If you wouldn't mind sharing I'd love to see Smiley

And you did have a very good entry into mining.  Yesterday was not a normal day by any means (see the graph), but this pool does at least as well generally as other similar pools.

EDIT: Holy crap we've gained more MH/s as a pool very quickly.  We're growing fast but I'm afraid there's going to be some people that will be very disappointed that yesterday isn't the norm.

Yeah DOGEs are good as long as we're getting it cashed out and all, but I'm wondering if that will happen much further down the road than tonight, perhaps.  If h2o works some magic again and cashes out a bunch and we get an insane payout, hey, I'm all in.  However, I don't think that it's wise to keep doing this for more than maybe a day longer, because half a billion+ is a lot of Doges.  I'm sure that as long as they're considerably more profitable we'll likely get good payouts at *some* point, but I like the relative peace of mind that more established altcoins provide.  I guess this is h2o's call, but seeing as he earned us a lot of money yesterday with a calculated risk, perhaps, (mining doges) I trust him.  Smiley

Don't want to TOTALLY crash the Doge market, but that's just my $.02.

Looks like the Doge market really crashed though.  Down at least 50% from last night.  I don't think our graph is very accurate, although I realize that h2o updates that manually for Doges and he's probably very busy.

EDIT: Just gained quite a bit back.  Now it's only lost like 40%.  Doges are really volatile  Shocked

Buy doge from the profit! Cheesy
today is a good day, lots of btc from middlecoin and btc price is showing resistance from dropping.
I can sleep peacefully now Grin

You spoke too soon  Cry It seems like prices have stopped falling and may be coming back out of the toilet but I don't know for sure.  I don't think you can ever be certain about the price stability/instability unfortunately.  Sad

EDIT: Wow, I can't believe we're still on DOGE!  That's awesome assuming we can cash it out like last night.  Difficulty in CGMiner is showing 6.66M (it's possessed by Satan! oh noes!) though, and I think it showed 5.something last night.  That means a block difficulty of like 100 or so now, right?

Oh I didn't know about the max difficulty adjustment or whatever it's called.  Seems that the DOGE/BTC market gained back the 20% to get to .0000005 that it lost around the time we dumped all the coins, so perhaps another day of big money is upon us.  I'll find out tomorrow.  I can barely stay awake for some reason and it's only 9:00  Roll Eyes Caffeine crash I guess.

In other news, I've made $40 from mining here after less than 2 weeks that I've cashed out into Amazon Gift cards and sold to my parents so they can do holiday shopping with them. Cheesy  At this rate, this site will be a huge reason I won't go broke paying for my school band trip! Thanks a million h2o!

I'm getting 300-305 kh/s on a 7870.  It's not the best, I know, but I've tinkered for hours and just decided to call that good enough.  I was getting like 240 kh/s stock, so I got an improvement.

I should have around 500-550 kh/s soon, as I got a 6770 for $35 Grin and my brother said I can use his 6750 whenever he's not using his PC.  Should get about 40% uptime on that rig since I can have it mining while he's at school or just browsing the web.

The way I see it, whatever I make with the 6770 is basically pure profit and I should be able to sell it for at least that any day.  Figured it was a fairly safe investment.

EDIT: Are we still digging/mining DOGE? I've made like 50 65 cents in BTC in the "Immature" column $1 total in the last 45 minutes or so.  I thought the difficulty would have shot way up by now.

The charts have been really buggy, but they don't affect actual earnings I don't think.  It appears you're getting .068 BTC here soon.  I searched your address on the middlecoin homepage in google chrome.  You should do that to check your balances if you aren't, as it seems to be much more up to date.  Do Ctrl+F and plug in about 5 characters of your address if you've never done this before.  Not sure how good that is for your hashrate, but that seems pretty darn good to me.  Around $60 or so.

I REALLY wish I had my 6770 here today that's on its way.  Could've cashed in even more.  Oh well, I shouldn't get too greedy.
Thanks, didnt check btc balance. .068 btc is much more than I had hope to get Grin

No problem.  Glad you made some $$$

And I got the BTC too.  I got .00966 which is a HUGE (2.5x normal) payout for my setup.  So.. long live DOGE?  Also, thanks h2o!  I'm sure your 3% fee really added up for you tonight!  Really quick mental math says you made like $2k in Bitcoin today  Smiley

Or just go to http://middlecoin.com/#USERID

Just # and id and the page will automattically load so that you're shown at the top. Easy, just bookmark that.

Really? Sweet.  I didn't know that, thanks!

EDIT: It actually did work for me, so IDK what his issue is.

I've noticed that too, but nothing like this!  I hope that the exchange issues will be behind us as well assuming Cryptsy gets its crap together here.  Perhaps nothing was going in because he had to execute this one manually due to it being on coinedup? IDK I really know nothing about whether you can auto trade on coinedup.  Regardless, I'm about to make $9ish today mining with a 7870!

Also, dat balance spike. 86.7 BTC paid shortly here.

That's probably right now that you mention it.  I guess I am forgetting to think a bit.  It does seem that he's kind of in a tough spot right now.  I suppose a crapload of DOGEs is better than nothing.  I might mine somewhere else until this is sorted out though.  I'll see how this is in the morning.

EDIT: Sweet Lawdy Jesus!  I got a ton exchanged!!!! I have .009 that'll probably get paid in about a half an hour!  I have changed my mind!  Shocked I think we have have a VERY high profit day here.  Wonder what the graph will look like on the main page.   Grin

EDIT 2: Ninja'd
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: December 16, 2013, 01:42:09 AM
I hope we can actually cash out some of this ridiculous unexchanged amount that's showing up.  It seems that exchanges are happening very slowly.  I've only received about 10k satoshis in the last hour or 2 I think.

If it is indeed Dogecoin we're mining, we should definitely switch to something else that's more stable I think.  We're accumulating coins that are going to take a long time to exchange it seems, unless I'm missing something.  However, I have been seeing some relatively large volume sell orders (>1 BTC) for low-ish prices on Dogecoin at Coinedup, so perhaps some of those are our orders?  Huh

I probably don't fully understand the situation, but I just don't want to mine and not get anything for it  Smiley
32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how does one make money? on: December 15, 2013, 10:39:54 PM
Honestly altcoins are about the only way to go for a normal rig like that.  I wish I'd gotten into Doges a week ago, seeing as they have an exchange now I believe.

There's plenty of 'profit switching' pools that pay you in BTC.  However, they basically assault whatever coin's network they determine is most profitable until another coin is more profitable.  Call me what you will, but I use them because I need short term cash/BTC.  I get about .004 BTC a day average with 310 kh/s on Middlecoin.  Hopefully I'll get a decent bit more once I hijack my brother's computer and get the 6770 in the mail.  I could hopefully double my kh/s for $35, which is the cost of the 6770 I got and am planning to slap in my PC alongside my 7870.

Anyways, I'm not sure about other similar pools.  You could also just mine Litecoins, which is not looked down upon so much I guess

There's no real way to make much from direct Bitcoin mining with GPUs anymore.  Even if you had free power, your profits will be really small.  I'm not even sure I'd technically make money on Bitcoin mining with 310 kh/s and basically free to me power.  My parents pay $.05/kwh and they said it's no big deal if power costs go up a bit.  I think I'm using like $.15 of power per day so that's basically nothing considering my $3-5 a day profits that I've observed over the short term.  Litecoin mining would also give similar profits (same ballpark at least) at this point, I think.  I'm not super knowledgeable about them.  Pretty sure you'd turn a profit anyways.
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did you come to Bitcointalk? on: December 15, 2013, 10:22:40 PM
I registered because I wanted to have some way of getting support for Middlecoin's pool.  Since Cryptsy is taking a dump right now I've supposedly got .01+ unpaid BTC from just over a day of mining with a 7870.  Hope that's not an error, but the way the unexchanged BTC graph has been shooting up has me worried.

That's awesome!  Hope I get something similar with my 6770 that's on its way  Smiley
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin reach $10000 one day? on: December 15, 2013, 08:44:30 PM
I personally think it has a decent shot.  The way that things have been going lately, anything's possible, for good or bad, I think.  I'm optimistic though since I need prices to not crash because I'm altcoin mining to partially fund my school band trip.  Grin I figure I can actually make $5-6 a day currently with my 7870, a 6770 that's in the mail ($30 card + free power = win?), and a 6750, so what the heck right? Who knows how long that'll last though.

On topic, I'd say that it could happen around early/mid 2015, but you never know!  I'm not liking the recent very slow price drop, but I guess the relative stability is something Bitcoin needs.
