Hi guys. I'm having connection issues with middlecoin pretty regularly. Each day I'm disconnected from the pool several times. Is there a backup address ? I read somewhere for some european server ?

I have 0.7 MH/s, and I have some very long rounds - more than hour, but average blocks speed is OK. But, also... around 20% of blocks rejected  So, I mine solo just for fun.  You can mine on my pool - http:// mus.net-working.eu0% FEE PropPool's working great! That's the newest trick people ! You don't premine a coin but leave it almost die so that you can mine lots of it at 0.1 difficulty (as it is at the moment) and then resurrect the coin making lots of money ! |

I think NUT coin has some potential. Has nice logo and catchy name. I'm really not worried of it not being on any exchange yet, but it's probably time for the dev team to come up with a plan for promoting the coin.

Many BS in this thread so far.
Anyway 290X is too expensive to be a good deal for mining. Also 290 and 290X as a whole are not suitable for mining at least models with the reference cooler due to their extremely high operating frequencies that will melt the card once winter is gone. On the other hand due to current great price gap between 290 and 290X I can say that 290 is much better than 290X. I had a 290 running on my system with about 850kh/s at default frequencies and above 900kh/s at 1050@1450. Noise though is unbearable and temperatures are skyrocketing at minimum about 85C. I returned the card and got 280X.
290X/290 is not more power efficient than 280X. Even if it is so then the difference is really negligible. I see people mining with cards for 500E and mobos for 200E and can't stop wondering how are you going to make profit with such poorly chosen hardware ?

I'd suggest mobo problem. I'm running 2 ASRock with H77. It has again 3x PCI-E 16x and 1x PCI-E 1x. On one of the PCs I had no problems running 3 cards (using the 1x slot) but when I added the 4th card problems began. After updating to the latest 13.12 AMD driver the comp is running fine. On the other comp though my card is not detected at all on the PCI-E 1x slot. I tried several different risers which works on other slots the card also works, but when plugged in that 1x slot it is not detected at all in Windows. I'm suspecting a faulty slot, so could also have a similar problem, not sure.

Hey who recommends GB ? IMO that's the WORST choice for 280X !!! Locked voltage by default and pretty common low hash rate as they are able to run at up to 1030 on the GPU. Not to mention the big failure rate of the first revision, hopefully they are fixed now.
I have XFX, Sapphire Dual-X and Sapphire Vapor-X. All of them get about the same on my rig - about 730kh/s. Sapphire Vapor-X is overall cooler than the others and eventually undervolt a little bit more. Also what I especially like about this card is that it has a big plate covering the whole "other" side of the video card, so basically all of the chips on this card are covered with some kind of heat sink. XFX are also good. They are quieter, but their cooling is not so great. All of them undervolt successfully in my experience.

personally the introduction of doge has pretty much skewered the entire system.. I estimate another month or 2 before a majority of the December adopters drop out cos they aren't seeing enough returns/profitability.. god knows the shit storm of crap coins we had mid to late dec would have knocked out a third of the December adopters when they realized the coins they mined is basically dead.. we had some remarkable ALTS.. so far.. cage which died withing 45 minutes of coinedup... GFT which basically had a dev code a lousy difficulty retarget and now that all the early adopters left it takes a day for one confirmation next retarget is probably in april lol.. 2 versions of NYAN both died because they were launched within hours of each other.. MOON which pretty much gets the award for worst launch ever opened up an exchange within hours of launch and basically imploded on its way to lowest price.. Kitteh was launched at coinedup to early so it kinda died as no-one in kitteh wanted to market it till logo was changed...after that dev handed over responsibility to a new dev team.. so they are working at it quietly.. could be interesting when they relaunched. LOT got lost in the scramble with doge we launched just after doge so the prices speculated just couldnt keep up with the coins that are in circulation also no real attempt was made to hype up the coin which is fine as we don't have to deal with the reality of a coin crashing from 300 satoshi to 26.. EAC while interesting looks to be headed towards being a pump and dump for quite awhile until it either stabilizes or dies.. on the whole its been an exciting and crazy period for this newbie.. started on december 3rd and i've seen so much of crazy shit i feel like a veteran  Great summary ! I started mining in the middle of December, so basically what you have described is pretty much my story too. And I also mined doge, kitteh, moon (well just a bit fortunately) and mostly LOT and EAC. I'm still learning new things each and every day about alt coins, but it seems that the situation is changing every week. |
