21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Link to FTC laws on: September 04, 2018, 11:14:04 PM
Just wanted to provide a link to anyone that wants to file a complaint with the FTC.

Clearly states:
''If you can’t ship within the promised time (or within 30 days if you made no promise), you must
notify the customer of the delay, provide a revised shipment date and explain his right to cancel
and get a full and prompt refund.''

Link:
https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/plain-language/alt051-selling-internet-prompt-delivery-rules.pdf

They haven't provided a revised shipment date. ''Sometime at the end of the year'', or ''In Q4'', isn't a date.

''For definite delays of up to 30 days, you may treat the customer’s silence as agreeing to the
delay. But for longer or indefinite delays — and second and subsequent delays — you must get the
customer’s written, electronic, or verbal consent to the delay. If the customer doesn’t give you his
okay, you must promptly refund all the money the customer paid you without being asked by the
customer.

Looks like they have less than a month to refund EVERYONE'S money BY LAW if they don't give consent.

Also strange that they accepted crypto for payment. I doubt Xilinx accepts crypto, and why would FPGA.land, etc. pay fees to exchange to fiat? Makes you wonder if this money has even been paid to Xilinx. GPU Hoarder said they will likely lose money on the 1st order, so where is the money coming in for this new order? Perhaps from the 1st order? Just speculation, and very odd that 1 day after I bring up laws, people are getting refunds??? Either Xilinx just ''happened'' to refund today or FPGA.land/SQRL held your money all this time. Just opinion....but coincidence? Come on, please!

Know your rights as a consumer. You may even be able to get lost ''wages'' for each day of the delay. I don't know, but a judge would.

And 6k for the new board??? That's ridiculous! A close friend called Bittware about a month ago and was quoted 5k for a bulk order...So, $1000 mark-up, plus a 4% dev fee??? Speechless...

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / BUYER BEWARE!!! on: September 04, 2018, 03:43:34 AM
Just got an email and I am speechless!

''Our long-awaited FPGA board for cryptocurrency mining is available to order, with expected November delivery for the first batch. Sales are through SQRL.'' From BITTWARE.

This Squirrel company can't even get their 1st batch out from Xilinx! They flat out lied to me/us and said that I/we would be refunded for the 1525. Guess what? NO refund, and now they are putting out a more expensive pre-order together to screw more people over??? Nice Ponzi huh?

Wake up! They took in 15 million from ''batch 1'', and still nobody has a working FPGA. They said I would get my refund this week, and LIED.

Don't even get me started on bitstreams and deadlines. Where are they?

The people behind this should receive jail-time, and very well might. Any lawyers on here?

You can't just take people's money for months and then not deliver.........

I wonder if there is any action we can take if they don't pay the bounty tokens?

I for one did not take time out of my day to complete menial tasks to promote their project for fun.

Let's take for example, what would happen if someone hired a marketing firm, and the firm substantially
propelled their business and community, and they didn't pay after the work was performed? Here's
what would happen: They would get their pants sued off!

Here is what I received on May 8th, ''The bounty distribution will happen shortly after the private token sale concludes''

The last correspondence I received was on June 21st, ''To ensure fairness across all token holders, including token purchasers, and the given complexity of doing an exhaustive and thorough audit, we appreciate the patience that all of you have shown. Fortunately, we have now gotten through this process and can begin the distribution of tokens.''

Over 2 months later and no tokens? Um ok. Also, I know it's trivial but they didn't even announce the top 3 that would receive prizes.

I have tried to contact them with no success. Are they essentially breaking a written contract?

It's not our fault that their tokens are tanking. Even with the 2-1 drop, we will be lucky to break even. Assuming they pay...

Welcome to crypto, where scams are (kind of) legal.

Yes, they have broken a written contract. Yes, they have lied.
And no, they will not fully pay bounty tokens. Definitely, not the 12 M they deceived us at the beginning. What amazes me not even the 2 M, which was the final announcement. They only paid something like 1,3 M...

This is a very obvious scammy and scummy project. I would suggest everyone to stay out of it.

A start up with that attitude is destined to fail.

Amen, I'm about to dump these crap coins. Hope it goes to 0.

They deceived a lot of people.

Just as we tweeted and raved about them, we can do the same the opposite way.

Good scam=bad karma

I planing to buy an FPGA card here www.fpga-mining.tech. In this regard, I have two questions - bcu1525 is the same as the vcu1525? And the software for the VU09p chip will be compatible with the VU13P chip?

In all likelihood, fpga-mining.tech is a scam - just created on Aug. 8, ad copy is copy-pasta from fpga.land/squirrelsresearch/Mineority. Do your research before sending funds.

Edit: There are ONLY 5000 BCU-1525 being made this year and AllMine (fpga.land), Squirrels Research, and Mineority are the only legitimate outlet at this time. Anyone else offering these is either reselling a pre-order, or scamming.
I have first seen this website when I found VCU1525 on ebay auction, starting bid 8K. It was in the description.

You can purchase units for pre-order now at $3600/unit at http://squirrelsresearch.com/bcu-1525/ -- This is the only site you should purchase from if you want to be sure you're going to receive your order. We already have the order placed with Xilinx and we're in regular contact / meetings with them to get the boards built and shipped.

These were units that a refund was requested for due to delays in acquiring the components needed for production of the boards.

I have the #0000019 invoice

I honestly think that whatever is happening right now, that your team are doing the very best to handle all what is happening around the FPGA world.

From a little outside of the box point, I noticed that Bitmain are slowly making their way into Xiling team ( https://www.xilinx.com/video/corporate/bitmain-technologies-bitcoin-mining.html ) and I feel like that I understand their point of view that they are really losing profit and that they will be will go bankrupt in the next week if they cant screw the next wave of mining profitability. ( lol, you understand my sarcasm )

I'm really glad to follow the squirrel team, they do everything they can to handle the next crypto hype.

Let's do it Smiley

Bitmain ''slowly''?

Follow the news!

Has anyone got a refund?

obviously so since there are now cards available for purchase. hurry before they sell out.

this disclaimer has been added.

Quote
Important Notice: This is a pre-sale item scheduled to ship in Q4 and could be subject to delays. All sales are final.

So apparently if it gets "delayed" again then you shit out of luck.

I doubt it will as I'm sure bitmain got all their chips by now.

Not too worried about the refund. If they are smart, refunds should be processed no later than August 31st. The original invoice did not say, ''All sales are final''. In addition, Squirrels told me this before purchasing, ''Shipping starts in August. You should have it mid-late August depending on transfer times.'' No addendum for possible delays was added or ever mentioned.

If you do a pre-sale on Ebay for example and don't deliver, they kick you off faster than a New York second and do everything in their power to get the buyer's funds back.

They breached their ''contract'' regardless of Xilinx delays, and shifting blame. That is not our fault. I'm not a lawyer but they could be in very hot water if they delay refunds or don't pay. Imagine the people that possibly bought 10+ units. Whew, I'd be pi**ed off.

I believe these guys meant well, but they didn't do much R&D and rushed into this order. There should have been a back-up plan or contract with Xilinx, stating some sort of discount or repercussion for not delivering on time. Maybe they are getting a discount for the delay, who knows. Not meeting deadlines is unacceptable. Customer service goes a long way and this ''start-up'' is off to a horrible start.

I truly believe that for each day after August 31st, they should pay everyone $20/day per unit because we expected to be mining by then, and $20/day was their low-end advertised rate. Check page 1 of this thread.

Icing on the cake...they are abandoning these boards and going with Bittware in the future. One could deduce that they will focus most if not all of their efforts and bitstreams on the new board, not the 1525. Just speculation.

Wish them well, but as they say, ''first impressions are everything''...

Just my opinion.

Wondering if Bitmain has something up his sleeve and caused the delay??? Money talks...just saying.

I am looking very long time where to buy a good fpga, can anyone help me please?

Thank you!

I will have a BCU 1525 I might sell for $6,000.

Let me know.

Message me.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: August 06, 2018, 11:17:19 PM
Will they be offering refunds?

This is a direct message I received prior to buying 1 unit:
''Shipping starts in August. You should have it mid-late August depending on transfer times.''

Now we don't even have a date???

This is ridiculous.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: August 06, 2018, 11:00:06 PM
BCU-1525 delayed to the fourth quarter

Very disappointed

Hi everyone,

On June 19th, I purchased the XILINX 1525 with mods and DIMMs from the 1st bulk order on this thread.
I have the receipt to prove it and I'm sure FPGA.land/Squirrels Research will back me up. It will arrive sometime
in August and then I can ship it out. I really wanted to run this card, as projections are $20-$50 per day.
Unfortunately, I need to sell it to pay off some debt. I'm asking $6,000 to cover taxes, shipping, fees, etc.
I know that may seem high but as far as I have researched, Batch 2 is not even close to ready, and people
could be waiting until next year sometime. I will accept ZEN, BTC, ETH and possibly PayPal.

PM me if interested. I'm open to reasonable offers. Highest offer gets it.

Thanks!
So you are asking 70% more than what you bought it for... Flipping has some good days ahead

Yes, but I also said I'm open to offers.

Hello, I am interested in this project.

I have 8 TB of storage to rent. How do I get started and what are the payouts? Is anyone doing this?

Also, what is the coin MAX supply, not TOTAL?

Thanks, for any info...

Is there any way too get in on the VCU1525 Bulk Order?

I was getting my ETH ready and honestly missed the boat by a few hours.

FPGAland says sold out.

I want the 3,600 dollar option.

Can I still get 1 or will there be another order? If so when would the ship date be?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hello,

Thanks guys for all the great info on here. I'm new to FPGA's but not mining.

I do have a few questions below pertaining to using FPGA boards being used for cryptocurrency mining. I hope the community can help me with some useful information before I make a purchase.

1. Zetheron's site states that some or all of the mods may be done by the delivery date of the VCU1525 FPGA edition. Is this correct? Could it be ready for mining out of the box and if not will the Xilinx/Zetheron support teams help with mods to get us up and mining?
2. Is the Bittware XUPVV4 crypto edition specifically for mining? Are they currently for sale or still in development?
3. I already have a GPU rig that I built but I am not a ''coder''. Which product would be more of a ''plug and play'' board?
4. I read on the website that to mod the VCU1525 there are 2 fairly simple steps and then advanced mods. If I don't do the advanced mods will the FPGA still mine? Or how much performance will be lost percent-wise?
5. Will Zetheron post more Algo downloads soon and add tutorials to get people up and mining? Will algo changes be as simple as in GPU mining [i.e., find miner, change algo batch file, and find pool/wallet? Will they post tutorials on this as well?
6. Do you know if people are still able to join the bulk discount?
7. There are 4 Algos listed on the first thread and working on 2 more. I only see 1 listed on the website download section. Any idea when the others will be posted for download with instructions? Will the downloads work with both FPGA's listed above?

If the community has answers it would be much appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these questions when we are talking about investing 5-6k.

Hello,

So I downloaded the newest wallet for Windows 10, encrypted, added coins, unlocked, and started receiving staking rewards. Well, out of the blue last week my computer shutdown without the proper shutting down procedures. Every since then, the wallet will unlock, show my balance, show 16 connections, and sync. However, when I hover over staking icon it says ''staking is not active'', then after about an hour it shows ''Error a fatal error has occurred. See debug.log for details''...I click ok and the wallet shuts down. I've tried the following....

1. Back up wallet files. Delete originals. Fresh wallet install and replaced old wallet.dat with new. It synced fine and balance appears correctly but same issues.
2. Added the nodes from the MN guide to the config file and put staking=1 at the last line and put the file in the appdata Bitcoin Green wallet folder. Still, same result. Was it dumb to add those to the config file since I don't have a MN? Do I need to add any lines to the debug console window?

Should I delete everything but wallet file and reinstall again?

Please help. This is frustrating. I will send 1 BITG to the first successful answer.

Thanks,

Andrew
..I click ok and the wallet shuts down. I've tried the following....
show up us the last entry of the debug log pls.  pm me or here..
pls delete entry with staking=1     staking is always enable: if u only unlock ur wallet, with mature Coins.

My config is only added with nodes.. i stake every day Smiley without this entry staking=1

Sorry I coudn't PM because I am a newbie, and don't know really where to start on discord...
Hi,
I erased staking=1
added addnode=address from peers list to config file
and here is most recent debug log entry...

01:16:49 ProcessNewBlock : ACCEPTED in 0 milliseconds with size=811
2018-05-23 01:16:49 UpdateTip: new best=d88e4505a5048ec6479164d3e1bb5bc0a20acef429ee7569586fb55bbf35564c  height=166824  log2_work=61.094307  tx=359297  date=2018-05-22 14:58:26 progress=0.997615  cache=24547
2018-05-23 01:16:49 ProcessNewBlock : ACCEPTED in 15 milliseconds with size=430

Then it shows error and shuts down still. Any other ideas. Still not staking.

Thanks
