A demain

For some reason, now it seems back on http://bitcoinity.org/markets?exchange=all
Still down for me
Edit: nevermind, I had the time scale wrong
Anyway, Still down for everyone

It's been several hours that the site does not respond to me.
I have not seen any mention of it in the forum.
Am I missing something?

mtgoxlive looks like a lie detector of someone having a heart attack.
Has anything coming out of Mt.Gox in the last few weeks NOT been total bullshit?
I loled hard

Look, I've got a possible theory .
Here's a summary from my other posts.
From the huge cancel orders as seen on http://bitcoinity.org/markets?exchange=all, there's no doubt some big bots are doing the job.
Now in order to drive the price down, they need a selling bot to chase the bids they keep moving down from the ticker.
Such a bot might be MtGox selling transaction fees at market price (that seems a reasonable practice to me)
The following rally is just the opposite manipulation, though you don't need a failing bot to get the market rally up.
The big sinusoids correspond to free market period when the big player releases his covers. The rest is a battle of bots Smiley
31  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Battle of Bots on: July 05, 2011, 09:38:46 PM
What if the failing bot was MtGox selling transaction fees at market price?
I don't mean it would explain trade stop at "break" release, rather than that could be the kind of bot I was thinking of.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading paused? on: July 05, 2011, 09:29:29 PM
Guys, did you read my post about what was going on when the trading stopped?
http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=26292.0
If my understanding is correct, then this is no surprise TradHill is synchronizing to the big induced pattern occurring on MtGox.
In other times, I have seen both markets influencing each other on uncorrelated accidental events.
Arguably, MtGox has got more inertia to move than the other way around.
33  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Battle of Bots on: July 05, 2011, 09:03:20 PM
The "break" is probably about to be released again, the moving ceiling is getting solid, brace for a huge bounce downwards....
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Battle of Bots on: July 05, 2011, 08:46:06 PM
The same pattern seems to be occurring in the opposite direction.
Of course nobody would mind now: you don't need a failing bot to rally up.
Still, big ask orders are immediately turned into big bid orders without any intention to sell low in the first place.
35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Battle of Bots on: July 05, 2011, 08:12:48 PM
I wonder what would happen if said botmaster got hit by a bus or somthing and his webhosted bot kept running
Well, the admittedly crazy bot probably has a safety fuse if the developer was reasonable.
Otherwise, the result is that the corresponding bot drives the market down until it's got no btcs to sell.
The winner's bot master managed to get most btcs of the deceived one very cheap...
36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Battle of Bots on: July 05, 2011, 08:05:20 PM
It could just as easily be one person playing this game, or just the market.  I would thing that zero commissions could damp the oscillation too.

Zero commission damping is what we just got when the "break" was released. The said bot master just left the market bounce and probably caught any single return of the resulting oscillation.
Definitely not the market...
37  Economy / Trading Discussion / Battle of Bots on: July 05, 2011, 07:21:38 PM
The recent activity suggests to me that the bidders bots (banksters?) are doing a good job at tricking the sellers bots (lucky early adopters)  down the road to the lower supports.

The demand is there, it's just moving back away from the ticker. This is quite obvious on bitcoinity tool:
http://bitcoinity.org/markets?exchange=all
Any btc earned is immediately transferred to the the selling market depth,  it kills the usual sinusoidal bounce observed in other regular big transaction.
The bot owner secures a comfortable profit while breaking on any further rally.

I doubt the chase going on is just panic.
I'd guess someone with loads of btcs left his bot driving down the market chasing the lower biggest bid.

Hopefully he realises it soon enough. In the mean time, I also hope a lot of people are getting in and will share the profit with those smart bots

@angelo95:Ce sera avec plaisir

A+
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox - Fees on: July 04, 2011, 07:05:05 AM
Okay, this IS confusing, anyway if you look at the third and fourth column, it's the same as in my calculations above.
For the first trade, you give 10 BTC (third column) and get 187.673 USD (fourth column), which is 188.9 USD minus 1.227 USD fee.
For the second trade you get 4.968 BTC (third column), which is 5 BTC minus 0.032 BTC fee, and you give 92.555 USD (fourth column), which is 5 BTC times 18.511 (the original rate).
Anyway, you can just forget this last confusing part, since after the relaunch the history page was redone, and now shows trades and fees separately.

Thanks a lot for the explanation.
I was indeed confused because the former interface would indeed show up my fees on Asks and my fees plus the seller fees on Bids.
I'm glad to learn that it was just a confusing display.

Give Mark a break!

Look, I was only enquiring to get my bot settings right, not flaming anyone's name.
I'm sure Mark wouldn't mind admitting that the documentation is sparse and agreeing to a 3rd party explaining his computations on the public forum.

My bot is doing day trading anyway, so we're talking many low profit trades, and Mark will get the best of my gains at the end of the day.
