Well well well, it looks like btcp is the ray of sunshine in the darkness today Smiley)) I bet the fudsters are furious right now haha

After it droped for 95% lol!!!!!
No drop here you must be on the wrong thread lol

It was selling for 700$ on Kucoin on the beginning... let's face it guys this coin is dead.

Lmao who bought rhetconneeeect coin in kucoin?

Kucoin never listed BTCP...  They just agreed to distribute BTCP to BTC owners after airdrop.  They don't even list ZCL.

https://www.kucoin.com/#/markets

Not sure where you get your information from.  There is no historical information from Kucoin.com, coinmarketcap, or any site ever reference BTCP hit $700 USD.

I think some people here thought that when an exchange decides to distribute coins from a fork that it also means they will list the coin no matter what. That does not seem to be the case though.

Yeah, some people just read what they want and never saw a holistic picture.  Those can safely be on the ignored list.

This is market is still active maybe you didn't get credited for that airdrop but now it has very volume but only for those who had their balance on kucoin got this golden chance to sell this coin at very high price.

Hi bitcircle,

Thank you for this information.  It does prove kucoin had BTCP market at one point (about 13 hours span).  Don't care which side you are on, you know something.

Any idea why its not active now?  It has 0 volume and according to the graph its an invalid trading symbol.  Although I can see BTCP asset, but cannot deposit coin nor withdraw coin from kucoin.

After taking a look around.  Exchanges that support ZCL->BTCP and BTC->BTCP has BTCP and related pair... but only very select few small exchanges (tradesatoshi, Nanex, Octaex, TradeOrge, and Exrates) are allowing to trade BTCP.

So traders and miners, do you own due diligence.  I for one see pretty big jump when BTCP hits the big exchanges.  There are whales there can support the price.  On the smaller exchanges, it's likely the best time to buy because the price was pushed very low.

I also did saw the trading at Kucoin. But i didn't have enough BTCP. You had to have 1 BTCP to be able to make a trade at Kucoin. The top price was $850... It is the same story as other new Bitcoin forks. They all get pumped and dumped to less than $25. Take a look at Bitcoin God or Super Bitcoin... But i think BTCP has a better chance to be accepted by the community.

I would think when you pump it up, you can sell it.  But you can't pump and dump on the same exchange, I would not consider that as pump and dump.  Further, if I can't add BTCP coin to kucoin also an indicator this trading pair is invalid.

The other exchanges that actually traded BTCP never had the same price range as kucoin.  It likely kucoin just testing the trading pair... and some lucky guy just happened to trade while they are testing.

If you were lucky enought to sold your BTCP during kucoin's testing, kudos to you.  But definitely, this was not a pump to $700 and dump to $25 coin.

I have seen for how much they were selling it. At the beginning also this number was in.  But than it droped to 300, 200 and than 80, 70, 50, 30, 24 now and it will go to 10, 5, 2.. and possibly -10.

Do you have proof they actually listing it?  or just your own eyes?  From all of the reputable boards, internet, even kucoin.com themselves not mentioning BTCP ever listed on their exchange.  They may have distributed the BTCP from airdrop and they have to place some value on it, but that's not the same as listing.

This project not going to be successful with the low hashrates with the risk of double spends. Who will use this coin? Is high volume exchanges been requested? I've already lost alot of BTC in ZCL and BTCP investing but doesn't look good at the moment
Be patient, buy and hold!

I like your motto, "Be patient, buy and hold!"

Bitcoin itself was pretty much a scam coin 8 years ago.  No one wants it and can be had for a quarter per coin or less.  Also the "other side" always trying to convince only criminals and drug dealers use the coin to do illegal stuff.  All of the naysayers dismissed the utility functions and blockchain bring to light by bitcoin.

BTCP just take bitcoin to the next level to include privacy and fast transfers.  I am doing the similar thing, "Be patient, buy, mine and hold!"

By the way, have you check the hashrate for BTCP?  Its around 10 MH/s.  That's equivalent around 15,000 GTX 1080 Ti trying to solve equihash for mining BTCP.  That's impressive for a brand new coin.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BTCP] BitcoinPrivate: A Truly Private Bitcoin [Equihash] on: March 26, 2018, 06:35:27 PM
You believe in this project at the moment? How do you see the future?Mining this but not sure about the future...

If anyone believed in this scam they gotta be morons of highest order. We got in due to our own greed but developers greed proved to be winner in this btcpoop scam. There is no future for this shitcoin in terms of satoshi however it can grow in terms of USD as bitcoin grows and drags shitcoin up.

Can you explain why this is a scam or poop coin?

Hi, i started mining with a single 1070 just to try how's going but after a couple hours on the official pool i don't see any progress. Just the number of share changed is it normal?

Which pool is the best for a small rig? i use EWBF

use https://btcp.suprnova.cc.  its the biggest pool (around 50% hashing power came from this pool) and have the most consistent payout.

What is it to offer other than being a zcash clone

BTCP is a dual fork, first of its kind, with the ultimate goal of having a DEX (decentralized exchange) with BTCP trading pairs built into it. If they manage to do that, it would be a huge thing.

Decentralized exchange is a big term right now but most projects still owe the public to deliver what they are talking about. I will only believe that there is a DEX once there is one that I can personally use.
I like the Ethereum decentralized exchange(IDEX), but I agree about believing once seeing. It will be sweet if it does happen.

IDEX is alright, that is true, but the problem is that you are limited to Ethereum tokens and can't trade against Bitcoin and co.

Is there any value to dual fork ZCL and ETH ?  I mean BTCP was a dual fork from ZCL and BTC.  Providing privacy to ETH may provide some value as well.

Good question. I guess we should ask someone to do it and then see how many Ferarris that person could afford after the fork. Rhett has some Ferraris I guess.

The way Rhett is doing it, 0 Ferrari.  He will be lucky to afford Ford Fiesta.  Take him to court or send him to jail will yield nothing for anyone owning ZCL or BTCP.  This is because he didn't take a percentage for ZCL nor BTCP for himself based on all of the articles, posts, blogs, even the code I read.  At least not for ZCL nor BTCP (not sure about others).  For us, we can make suggestions how to improve BTCP.  BTCP by no means a $30 coin... its worth significantly more than that just a "private bitcoin".
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BTCP] BitcoinPrivate: A Truly Private Bitcoin [Equihash] on: March 25, 2018, 03:19:25 PM

Update: The fork began on March 2, 2017 and finished on March 3, 2017. You can read more on how to claim your BTCP here.

BITCOIN PRIVATE

Similar to Bitcoin, BTCP will support peer-to-peer transactions without an intermediary. These transactions will be verified by network nodes through the use of cryptography and recorded in a public ledger. Unlike Bitcoin, BTCP supports an increased block size and block time for faster transactions with lower fees. Furthermore, transactions can be performed on a private (z) ledger. When sending from one private address to another, the sender, recipient, and amount are all private.

You can read our whitepaper here.

The importance of Bitcoin Private

Recently, it has become clear that the crypto community’s privacy is at risk. Everytime one makes a transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain, the transaction is recorded on the blockchain in perpetuity for anyone to see. We have seen the BitFury Group use this information to de-anonymize over 15% of the entire Bitcoin network, along with many other examples. This led us to create Bitcoin Private (BTCP) - a fork-merge of the ZCL & BTC blockchains and introduction of the zk-SNARKS feature to Bitcoin.

The hard fork will allow users to safely transfer their digital currency without any threat to their privacy, known as shielded transactions, on the Bitcoin Private blockchain. For example, transactions would still take place on this Bitcoin based blockchain, except without being recorded on the public ledger -- leaving absolutely no trail of your transaction details to anyone other than the sender and recipient. This has never been done before with any Bitcoin hard fork. Ultimately, privacy was once a cornerstone of Bitcoin but can no longer be guaranteed today.

Aside from the shielded transactions, Bitcoin Private is also making transactions faster and more efficient by doubling the Bitcoin block size from 1MB to 2MB and decreasing the block time from 10 min to 2.5 min.

The Future of BTCP

We have posted a "March Sprint" on reddit which details our immediate plans after the fork. You can read more about it here. A long term, high level roadmap is forthcoming.

Moving forward, the Bitcoin Private team will continue securing appropriate partnerships to bolster the Bitcoin Private initiative. You should expect announcements around these partnerships to continue throughout 2018 as we seek to build a sustainable technology platform.

We anticipate our development team to continue growing in headcount and skill set, which allows us to build out our ambitious post-fork technology roadmap. The successful execution of our roadmap will allow Bitcoin Private to deliver superior value to other Bitcoin hard forks, especially around privacy and transaction speeds. Ultimately, we believe in a cryptocurrency world where everyone can trust their privacy will be respected.

Yes btcp is developing very quickly and it's still under the radar of the masses. I am extremely optimistic about this project, can't wait to see where it goes!

What exactly they are developing??

Another fork of Bitcoin? How do you want to proceed further? Mining has already begun, on what pools is it possible?

Bunch of pools.  But the highest concentration of miners I was was suprnova (btcp.suprnova.cc) and best chance of getting consistent payout.  Remaining pools can be found here:

Anyone know how to send or receive BTCP coins without identifying the sender/receiver/amount of the transaction?

You need to download the full node wallet for viewing and sending shielded transactions.
BTCP-Electrum wallet doesn't support this yet.

Thank you kahc!  Will give this full node wallet a try.

I've tried the full node wallet.  This works great!  The only item is visible is the transaction ID from Z address (Private) to Z address on the blockchain.  No send from, send to address, nor amount, just a transaction ID.  It's like completely nothingness from the block explorer.  Except in my wallet, I saw the amount came into my wallet.

From the full node BTCP wallet, you do need to use Z address (Private Address) for both receiving and transmitting to have nothing visible (from/to/amount) on blockchain.  If you are transferring from T (Public address), you still see your T address sending out coins, but won't know which Z address you send funds to.  Or if you send from Z address to T address, you still see incoming coins, but don't know where the address coins came from.

This is probably as close to true privacy as it gets.  Kudos to BTCP team!!!

Can you make this feature available on Electrum wallet as well?  I think it may get more adoption of BTCP.
