21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN]The 2ch Monacoin community has created their own exchange!BTC,LTC,XPM,MONA on: January 09, 2014, 06:50:28 AM
http://monatr.jp/   - the exchange itself. Use google translate to navigate easier.

The people over at 2chan are very active on improving Monacoin. So far we have had many developers and sellers participate in adopting this coin. Our hash rate may be low but the community is great!

The main user base is in Japan but I am actively working on bridging it to be international.
Hopefully this will catch your attention!

We are officially a week old and here is what we have so far.

I like how CoinedUp will add all these other shitcoins but then you have MONA which launched with virtually no controversy and is the first real coin aimed at the Japanese and yet it's already losing hashrate and is dying a slow death because there's no easy way to trade.

It's been nearly a full week now. There's two threads on the subreddit, the one that actually shows up in search has 47 upvotes and the other one has 49 upvotes (not going to bother mentioning downvotes since either there's someone going around downvoting everything out of spite or threads are automatically downvoted for whatever reason). Other coins with less votes have already made it onto the site..

I'm starting to wonder if they even read their own subreddit. That, or they are simply refusing to add it since the dev himself isn't the one pushing for the addition to the exchange. If that's the case then I doubt any exchange will add the coin. The dev himself needs to get in on this, even if he is Japanese.

A coin with no dev support is dead in the water, no matter how big the community behind it gets.

I can come into contact with dev via 2ch now! Currently the hash rate is low because the initial pumpers have left and moved on to other coins. However if you have stayed around long enough you will notice that the hashrate is now floating around ~ 100Mh/s. Yes that is low but I can vouch that 90% of that is from Japan, so the initial user base has never disappeared.

In the 2ch threads I have been visiting I notice a lot of talk about the cost of electricity. Not everyone overthere can leave their computers on overnight or have giant mining rigs.

Right now I am talking with the people over at 2ch to come up with ideas and services to offer. This is where we are different from the other crypto's. As I monitor many of the new crypto's emerging I see barely any community offering services for their coin. All I see is people wanting to dump their coins. This could turn out to be more than just a cryptocurrency as well. It could allow more intercultural exchanges as more users emerge. I'm not sure if any other crypto has done that before.

The coin hasn't been out very long. Why the huge rush to get it on an exchange?

I agree, if you introduce this coin early, the dumpers will dump and scare the community when it hits the lowest point.
Then again, I think it would be be best if the dumpers got rid of their coins early on so they aren't able to dump it all when Monacoin is actually highly valued in Japan.

Reporting big news for Monacoin!

There is now a parts shop (computers, cars, etc)  that uses MONACOIN!

For now it is Japan shipping only.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]PLEASE STOP DOING MORE COINS, THATS BAD TO ALT COINS on: January 06, 2014, 11:19:34 AM
I agree, but this was bound to happen. I'm just glad it's going to be over really quick. Through this we'll see better alt coins show up because there is a new standard that must be met to not be just another dump coin.

I am the creator of /r/monacoin and recently have talked to someone who uses 2ch and communicates with the creator of Monacoin

The creator of Monacoin said, "I just want to see what will Monacoin be." So there is not enough support now.
However, many people on 2ch want Monacoin to go to market. Now we are talking about how can we make Monacoin hit market, and discussing how can we give Monacoin vlue. I list what we are planning to do ・Spread Monacoin anyway ・Make online game ・Vote at cryptsy forum ・trade Monacoin with somthing (like barter) ・exchange with other cryptocoins"

You can see the active talk thread here, use google translate to get a general understanding.

http://anago.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/software/1388702291/

The folks over at 2ch are really anxious to see this coin hit the market.

It will be very interesting to see how a national crypto does on coined up. The Japanese support factor is what I am looking forward to.

Some may see this as another pump and dump but to the Japanese it's THEIR crypto.

I believe this will be the first attempt at an international crpyto being introduced into market.

What about Bitcoin and Litecoin?

Hmm... those have more of a presence I would say in USA/English speaking places.
Then again, the whole satoshi nakamoto name is definitely Japanese.
I guess what I was trying to say was; Monacoin's community is the strongest in Japan. All other cryptos that I am aware of (not really aware of too many pre-dating 2013) seem to have launched with an American/English influence.

I really need to be able to post on alternative cryptocurrencies sub forum but I guess I need to post more.

Anyways if you interested, there is this new coin: Monacoin.

Here is why I'm really excited.

This coin originats from the Japanese forum 2chan.

There is a lot of support right now, see link to thread:

http://anago.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/software/1388702291/

Just use google translate and you'll get the general feel.   Grin

I believe this will be the first attempt at an international crpyto being introduced into market.

Hopefully I can post this over at the monacoin thread soon. Until then, if anyone could relay and help me I would be gateful.

I am the creator of the subreddit /r/monacoin and recently someone from Japan's 2ch contacted me and the wheels are rolling. I am really interested to see how Japan will back their crypto!
