21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Grid Trading Bot for Ltc, Btc and other coins on: January 09, 2014, 07:30:40 AM
I'm unsure that I "get" this, why ever sell if you're going to buy at the same time?

If this relies on the price always going up, shouldn't you just buy 0.4 at 800 and hold forever?

Yes, you are right, in real trading there is no need to sell and buy at the same time, that was for example purpose. The main idea in here is that you need to take your profits at the levels which you specify in the strategy(stick to your rules), imagine them as parallel orders, for example you made that sell in order to get your profit, now if the price comes back from that point of 860 to 800 again you buy one more time since on that level of 800 you do not have any open order. The main profit in here is done when prices fluctuates up and down which exactly happens these days.

I am still testing the best grid size and position size on each level, so far the best are at arround $20 grid size with profit on the 3rd level. Another approach is not to buy 0.1 btc at each level, but instead buy worth of $50 of bitcoins, this way on the 3rd level for profit you can close a small portion of your btc just for the profit, avoiding payint too many fees.
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Grid Trading Bot for Ltc, Btc and other coins on: January 08, 2014, 03:01:15 PM
Recently tested a grid - like strategy on BTC-e MT4 platform, easier for me since I know how to program on MT4

Strategy:
Use  BtcUsd for sample
Have an imaginary Grid of $20 distance between levels
Buy on every level of $20 and sell on the 3+ levels from it (this one was the most profitable from backtests - taking in account transaction fee)

e.a.
Buy 0.1 btc at 800
buy 0.1 btc at 820
buy 0.1 btc at 840
buy 0.1 btc at 860 / sell 0.1 btc from 800 (profit $6) and so on from every level during long term run

Necessary amount of money depends on the grid size and number of bicoins you want to buy at each level

if price comes back buy at each new level and so on

analyzed in theory and optimized the potential presets and found really nice results and already made some money trading it.
here is some of the backtest results (50% revenue in 2 months - even if I have 15% per month I will be more then happy)

Risk: Not really much risk since at any time you will have either bitcoin or $ in your account, and if you hold long enough you will be in profit. And as we all expect the price of bitcoin to rise and rise we are on good track

Want to make a bot to start on btc-e to trade on any currency Smiley

Anybody tried similar strategies?

Fibonacci Levels prove that they work in bitcoin trading on BTC-e as well

$750 level looks to be an important one and we saw that we had a breakout of that level all the way to $830 and we could go more uptrend

Update on Fibonacci Levels and how they prove to work on Bitcoin as well

Daily Chart

750 Level looks to be an important one  (50% retracement + 61.8% retracement)

H4 Chart we can see it closer

good luck trading Smiley

I just had an OKPAY deposit fail and money lost. Deposit was successful on OKPay side but BTC-E isn't recognizing any deposit. Support tickets are being closed without any reply from BTC-E. Its not just me either, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=307729.40

I liked using the exchange and had no trouble getting crypto in there, but it has been impossible sending USD and support is a no show. I think I'll be moving my business to Mt Gox.

I like btc-e and use it every day - but I really don't think USD in is an option - get your btc somewhere else - send it there (verifies three times and you KNOW its there) and THEN start trading...

I feel the same way about most exchanges - treat the initial loss as an ''arbitrage fee'' and go from there...

Yes I like it as well - very easy to use and smallest % for transactions - but deposit sometimes is hard Smiley

Now I'm going to start mining again!

You can mine Scrypt coins with your GPU and exchange to Bitcoin, this way GPU mining is still profitable

Yes - totally agree - with GPU now you can mine only scrypt coins - bitcoin is not profitable using GPU

I started a thread on programming for some bots - let's see if it comes ok Smiley you can check it in few weeks, who knows

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=378587.0

but you need to know one thing - if you are going into trading one way or another this is long term investment, if you want short term results then you might as well gamble

the logic is simple - if you go short term then you would like also to go again short term , more and more till you end up with a big loss you can not afford, as they call it - newbie experience Smiley  so take there

for now I could recommend to try it manually , you need the API if you want 24/7 trading, but so far for testing purposes you could give it a try manually

I have the same problem, i´ve been waiting for 24h for a deposit but is missing.... no ticket response...and no way to solve the problem just wait an pray... OKPAY says all is ok and completed but i dont see my money.

I had the same issue few days ago

depostier $50 with no problem just to test okpay

then deposited $250 more and they did not appear in my btc-e account, only after I opened a ticket it took about 48h for money to be there

I think it depends on the sum

how much did you try to deposit?

how much for the script ?

I am not selling anything - I am just trying to make it work Smiley and will be more then happy to share the results with public

Look at this Fibo on H4 chart - one way or another the price moves around those levels and this is interesting to exploit

31  Economy / Trading Discussion / BTC-e day trading strategies on: December 20, 2013, 12:33:44 PM
Hello Everyone

I am an experienced MT4 programmer and from time to time trader. Recently I noticed that Btc-e provide MT4 real accounts so I thought it will be a great idea to develop some robots, back-test them and go with the one which are working best, besides that you are actually buying crypto currency there is hard to go bankrupt - you could only loose investments if not invested properly.

From some feedback https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=361466.0 on this forum I found that there are not really happy clients of real accounts, and from my experience I know MT4 can be very easy manipulated in background, either providing wrong data or delaying the price,m or giving a bigger price and so on.

My Goal:
Long-term profits from crypto using automated robots

My idea:
Will start developing some strategies on MT4, use that for backtest and forward test, then will re-write them into stand alone Software using BTC-e API

Strategies to try:
grid - trading : has some potential since we will buy some real stuff, and on 1:1 leverage we can hold them longer time
EMA crossover : this one could be a very good risk:reward strategy from other posts which I saw on forum
Volume trading : has really good potential since we can see the order books
others to come ...

Notes:
Since BTC-e charges 0.2% per transactions that means it will be 0.4% per one "trade" = buy + sell, this is kind of a big "spread" but in the same time the lowest one on crypto currencies

Anyone willing to share their experience feel free !
