21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [QRK] 120,000 QRK Bounty for New Logo on: January 09, 2014, 03:10:56 PM
Hey guys, I have been doing a bit of work with Kings over at the Quark Foundation and have put together a couple of flyer designs for him and ended up using some of the logos submitted in this thread. Here is the link:

http://quarkfoundation.cc/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=60#p389

If anyone objects to me using their logo's drop me a PM and I'll find some sort of substitution.

Not sure how alive this competition is, however thought I'd throw a concept out there I've been playing with:

Having looked through these logo threads I am surprised there has not been more emphasis on the security aspect of Quark in the concepts - what I believe to be one of it's key features defining it as a solid cryptocurrency. I've tried to incorporate that idea in the most elegant fashion into the coin design (whilst including the shape that has become synonymous, for some, with Quark).

Anyway here it is:

If there is interest I might go ahead and throw together some website concepts as well.

Cheers.

Any donations welcome  Smiley

Another interesting get for speculators is Dogecoin. If the joke doesn't get old, someone could put in a relatively low amount of FIAT and see it grow 2-3 times in a very short period. I wouldn't gamble with house money on that one though.

I'm mining Doge currently, certainly interesting - dubbed the first 'memecoin' no one really knows what's going to happen with it! I totally agree though I'm not putting my hard cash down on it...

Thought I'd start one of these up as I'm not allowed into the big boy forum yet  Undecided

Also genuinely interested to see what the new kids on the block are keen to buy into.

Give it a vote! I've set it up so you have to vote before you can view the results. I've pulled the top 15 currencies off coinmarketcap to fill the options, if there are multiple requests for another coin to be added then I'll throw it into the fray! (I can do that right?)

I realise these polls usually turn into pick whichever coin you hold the most of but regardless it should be interesting, though lets try avoid long promotional posts telling us why your coin is the absolute shizzle.

This poll only runs till the end of the year so get voting!!!

edit. Have now added Earthcoin as option no.16 in the poll due to a surprisingly high amount of interest!

Doge is a lot of coins in a lot of hands! I think it could have some potential for micropayments on the web in the future...

I refuse to spend any real money (or trade it for other crypto-currency) though. Just casually mine a few thousand here and there.
30  Other / Beginners & Help / So who's given the gift of BitCoin this Christmas? on: December 24, 2013, 11:29:47 PM
I was tempted but eventually decided against it as it's still pretty damn daunting to a complete newcomer I reckon!

Even those paper wallets are a bit much in my opinion...

Did anyone get involved?

Here is some important information about the forum. This is not a rulebook or agreement.

RESTRICTIONS FOR NEW MEMBERS

After registering, you will be unable to post in any section except "newbies" until you have spent some time on the forum and have published a few posts.

If you are registering to ask a question, please ask it in the newbies section. Do not wait to ask it just because you must post it in "newbies": the question is very likely to have already been asked. If you don't end up getting good responses, you can ask it again elsewhere after you are established, or you can move the entire topic.

If you are commenting on Bitcoin, use your newbie wait time to read more about Bitcoin. If you are criticizing Bitcoin, find similar criticism using the search tool to see which points have already been covered. A good use of your newbie wait time is reading Satoshi's old posts.

After a couple of posts in the Newbies area and a number of hours you can post on the rest of the forum I believe. Can anyone confirm this for me?

I'd appreciate the add Smiley

I remember earlier this year when I gave a whole ton of these faucets and 'earn' sites a go. Upon finally arriving at the cash out limit on one after hours I was very satisfied, that was until I realised I'd earned about £0.05.

Never again haha!

Saying that, I'm still here chasing/trading Bitcoin and a couple of other crypto-currencies so I guess it might just have gone and got me hooked!!
