It's not just Cryptsy that seems to be on the wrong fork - none of my test transactions have shown up on CoinEX or CoinedUp either. On top of that, the blockchain explorer is also on the wrong fork or lagging hardcore. I have a small transaction I sent to Cryptsy a few days ago which should have shown up by now on the blockchain (around block 22014 or so) but of course it's stuck in limbo instead. Honestly I don't see the exchanges caring too much about fixing their wallets at the moment. They're probably waiting for a more.. definitive fix. It's frustrating as hell mining away and not being able to even send them to an exchange so that I can use it to help increase my total funds - I'm stuck trading with the CAT I currently have on Cryptsy, unless I decide to move to another coin in the meantime (which I'd rather not have to). Going off what the others have been saying on IRC, I believe we have to update the node(s) hardcoded into the coin itself. From memory the code currently points towards catcoin.pw as being pretty much the only trusted default node (which was shut down just before the fork because the owner couldn't be stuffed putting up with the coin's problems any longer, it seems). I'm pretty sure that's why the exchanges and block explorer are having so many problems syncing. The remaining pool operators came came up with the idea of linking their pools together to prevent any further forks during low difficulty periods, or something along those lines (of course the exchanges likely wouldn't know about this and them updating their node lists before the next hardfork would be a miracle in itself). As far as I can tell, this is something that can only be fixed with another fork, so it likely won't be done until we have chosen a new difficulty algorithm (which shouldn't take too long hopefully, now that we have this new simulator to play around with) and are ready to implement that as well. I just hope we don't take another month to implement the fix like we did last time, I'm not sure even I have that much patience. Transactions within the working section of the network (between the pools and user wallets) works well enough though, so we got that going for us, which is nice.

is cryptsy on the correct fork or not? Deposit doesnt seem to arrive.
It's probably on the same fork as catcoins.biz. I'm also waiting on another deposit, though I can't even look it up in the blockchain at the moment since it's behind.

Pfft stuff Gravity Well, I found a better solution. So this is the level of conversation we are having right now? -snip- Jesus christ it was a joke, settle down.

I think instead of looking for yet another solution in code, we should be looking to temporarily borrow some major hashing power during the next high difficulty period to help smooth out the curve, I think. Pretty sure I remember hearing that Bitcoin and even Litecoin had to do something similar during their early days as well.
The code works pretty much as well as can be expected, the mistake was letting it walk down from 108 difficulty at the beginning, I believe. We should have probably set difficulty to 60 or so and went from there, the algorithm wouldn't have tried to compensate as much as it currently is.
Average block time is still ~10 minutes overall, so that proves that something's working, at least. The coin is now mostly usable, minus Cryptsy still being.. well, Cryptsy. Once that's sorted I think we'll start to see some miners return, helping to smooth out the difficulty spikes.

Any word when cryptsy will be on the correct chain?
No idea, they're apparently aware of it but I submitted a ticket myself just now to keep the pressure up. Also for anyone using NVIDIA cards, there's a new version of cudaMiner out, check it out here. I went from ~280KH/s to ~330KH/s myself with my GTX 670, and this version also adds support for Scrypt-Jane. Every little bit of extra hash will help with stabilizing CAT's difficulty fluctuations.

Regarding the Catcoin logo, I much prefer the new one. The old one looked like a kitten sticking its tongue out for a facial (you know what I mean), and I know I wasn't the only one that saw that. Frankly it didn't look even remotely professional. Even DOGE's logo looks better that the old CAT logo. I took the liberty of throwing together a few new full logos with the updated artwork that might come in useful. I went for a look that emulated the Bitcoin logo, since Catcoin is meant to be the Scrypt Bitcoin. I might upload new artwork to my Catcoin Art album on Imgur now and then if I get bored.

Yea, I fixed it before going out to drink tonight glad it works! Don't suppose you could also fix the wallet links on the front page when you get a chance? Seems they're still linking to the old wallets. We might be seeing somewhat of an influx of new miners and traders soon now that the coin is somewhat functional again and we're getting a little attention now, so I think it'd be wise to ensure that at the very least the wallet links are pointing in the right direction.

Someone is purposefully driving the price down on cryptsy with 0.2602 or somthing of a coin and has loads of them all a slightly smaller amount of BTC. So I don't know what they are thrying to do but it is getting annoying if they keep the price down and prevent it from going higher I am in it for the long run but still it is pretty annoying to prevent the potential price of showing through Once volume picks up that shouldn't be much of a problem, though until Cryptsy are on the right fork we likely won't see much trading (deposits aren't showing up at all since the fork, and we think it's because they haven't updated yet even though we notified them about the fork days before it took effect). We've tried getting in touch with them to find out what is going on, but it's not easy to get a hold of anyone within Cryptsy at the moment it seems.

by updating to the new wallet.....you're two wallets behind.
Also whatever you do, backup your wallet.dat file in your C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Catcoin folder (assuming you're using Windows 7/8)

Well looks like the difficulty didn't go anywhere near as high this time around.
Looks like it's working properly after all, which is a relief.

you need one block retarget. Funny you should say that..

Coinwarz is still reporting the old difficulty. The net hash will probably stay fairly low until that changes, which is fine with me.
No arguments here. More coins for us.

The person that manages that site hasn't updated it yet for the fork. Not sure when he'll get around to it. We're now on block: 21350 with a difficulty of 68.99357232. I can almost taste the Catcoins. Also we were mentioned by Coyote Wallstreet, it seems they want to speak to the dev team: https://twitter.com/coyotewallst/status/429252601016639488

Block: 21349, Difficulty: 77.27258491
So far so good.
Also how the hell am I back to being a Jr. Member? Is there some kind of weekly quota for posts or something?

Is it just me or are pool stats off?? Do pools need to update anything?
Network Info Difficulty 86.54519943 Est Next Difficulty 3.35167958 (Change in 36 Blocks) Est. Avg. Time per Block 15492.87 seconds Current Block 21348
Pools will have to update their frontends with the new parameters. Hell, most pools seem to still be using the old 2016 block retarget to calculate things like Estimated Average Time per Block and net hashrate (hence why there was so much confusion regarding the real net hashrate, among other things).

Now on block 21348 with a difficulty of 86.54519943.
The new difficulty scaling is working well so far.

failmath ? why is the diff still this high ?
Because it's only been one block since the fork, and it's only meant to move a maximum of 12% per block? It's at 97 difficulty now, down from 108 last block, and will continue to adjust after every block. It'll take a while to correct down to a more reasonable level. When is the time for the fork?
The fork has already taken place, around an hour or so ago.
