I haven't followed FairCoin for some time now and just updated my wallet for the first time in over a year. I noticed that all of my FAIR is now gone from my wallet and was sent to the "FairCoin Recovery Fund" without my knowledge back in February. What's going on?
I'd say read up on the frontpage and visit fair.coop; much has happened in the last 12 months. Regarding the lost coins; we've announced this through various channels, including this forum. So also read up and contact support@fair-coin.org for the procedure to reclaim your lost coins. |

We want to really try and get on Poloniex exchange. As they have just launched leveraged margin trading. And that can really work to help stabilise prices.
They launched this margin trading only for 4 coins. Otherwise how you see that this helps stabilice prices? As far i know margin trading is more riskful and more speculative, i dont see thi good for faircoin Anyway, if they want to add faircoin without margin trading thats good i guess. I read about that this morning, and they kinda lost me when they wrote:"You can now borrow funds from lending users to open long and short positions with 2.5x leverage on our XMR, DASH, XPR and LTC Margin Trading platform. You can also loan funds in the same selected markets in 1 day intervals at up to 5% interest." It feels like this is building on the classical debt based system where value becomes locked and at some point has no ability to grow/move anymore. Instead of doing investments by using financial leverage and creating debt, I believe that a (micro)credit infusions into the world economy will add way more value. If to such an extend that the infusing party (in this case FairCoop) will actually grow with each micro infusion. Since FairCoin is a POS coin, we even should be able to sustain that model on forever basis. |

Would be also great to .. at some point .. get out of bittrex.
But then how would we know what the market price is ? And also the market needs to stay open. So unless FAIR gets it's own exchange, I don't see any way around the exchanges. Or do you have an alternative ? I was actually thinking that we should now try to get on more exchanges than just Bittrex, to be less dependant on one exchange and to increase the volumes. What do the rest of you think ? Even if for some reason you want to get out of any exchange, you can't force them... It's like saying to BTC-E, Cryptsy, and Kraken to stop exchanging LiteCoin  What we can do, and what we're doing now is movingthe market away from the exchanges. The cooperation between BitBill, Litepaid and GetFaircoin.net is a blossoming example of that. And that's just one of the numerous initiatives that are growing! About the multiple exchanges; I reckon that once we reach the 6 million dollar marketcap and say hello to our parent PeerCoin, other exchanges will probably automatically add us. We broke another huge milestone today, a marketcap of 2mil. I will drink a beer on that tonight.

I think it was just a price correction and no DUMP. someone just sold 6-7 BTC. He might have needed it for some other coin or something. Otherwise why will they Dump if they know price is going to be higher if they just bought it. That person must be pissed off as price increased by almost 30-40 pct after that dump  Maybe you're right, but then again this might not even be about someone actually dumping FairCoins onto the market. It could very well be someone who just paid off a pair of jeans using bitbill.eu, or someone who pulled out some Euro's out of the bank vending machine using ChipChap. I personally already have paid a few bills with bitbill.eu; I gotta say it feels awesome to buy real stuff with FairCoins! To me FairCoin will be that coin that finally breach that gap between the common people and cryptocurrency. For anyone starting in Crypto's it's quite hard to understand the conversion strategy: from EUR to BTC, then to the exchange, then to the coin of choice, then back to their wallet and then actually do something with their coin. We've already taken BitCoin out of the equation with GetFairCoin.net, Bittrex is hidden as well. It is only a matter of time before we'll take away EUR/USD/etc as well once we really start focusing on those who don't have access to a bank account. Eventually I think we'll even take exchanges out the equation with day-to-day FAIR2FAIR trading. I personally already share FairCoin within my social network using the Android and Paper wallet (currently working on a dedicated paper wallet site...); it's great, it's real, it's fast, it's so very understandable. Got home from the dentist last week still dizzy from the valium, spilled water all over my macbook, was certain i had backed up all my wallets. Had not. 26000 faircoin gone with the wind, or rather water.  ( Luckily I had managed to write down my bitcoin seed at least, so theres some solace. But not the ending to a four hour operation I was hoping for. Great to see the activity has gone up greatly though! Thats terrible. but cant you recover from the hard disk.. I am sure you must have tried though I havent taken it to the apple store yet, its a retina mac where everything is solded to the motherboard. So Im not getting my hopes up. The stinger is that I was going to turn it in for a new one for free because of screen defect. Now I will have to pay for my stupitiy if I want it working again. :/ Flip it upside down (opposite of how the water entered the laptop), place it at a dry, warm place and let it sit there for a week or two (unpowered). Mainboards are quite resilient - it may just recover from the watery mess  |

Some hours ago, i has done a buy of 29 BTC value of Faircoin in one time,
putting the value of faircoin above 1M $ marketcap
This is consequence of the very big buys in getfaircoin last week. The service was out of reserves, (usually we have bought before we sell, but without reserves this was not the case and i solved selling from my personal reserves to cover the buys)...therefore i had pending very big buys, with that incomes.
Seeing this i decided to do in one time, to be sure that we get all the faircoins to reactive reserves for getfaircoin at the better price possible. I mean that making progressive big buys, for an amount bigger than all the bittrex volume in one week, could generate others traders buying in the ride before me... so i felt more secure, make all the buying in one time..
Otherwise i choose today, to do that because today is an special day for me and for faircoin
Today is my birthday, and just one year ago was the day when I decided take over faircoin to use it for build a social cryptocurrency project to serve my fair economy global plans... One year later, i m glad to bring faircoin around 1M marketcap. A small step in our plans, but a very simbolical one!
Thanks to all, who has joined this plans, specially who joined also at the very beginning before knowing about me, (kudos tom, chris...).

Yes! These are still relevant - so keep them close But we did have a few hardforks during the last year, so you may have staked on the wrong blockchain at some point. First of all, backup your wallet.dat and if you haven't already, upgrade to the latest version of the wallet. If all is well and your balance matched, be happy and enjoy your coins If you think you're missing coins: 0) - Double check that you’ve backed up your wallet.dat 1) - Do you have any unconfirmed transaction in your transaction list? If so, do a right click in the transaction view and select 'Clear orphans’, restart the wallet and validate your balance. 2) - Make sure the wallet is no longer running - Delete all files except the wallet.dat from the directory mentioned above - Change to your FairCoin homedir - Run FairCoin-qt.exe -rescan - Wait for the blockchain to sync and validate your balance. 3) - Go to Help --> Debug Window --> Console - Type repairwallet at the prompt, restart your wallet and validate your balance. If all this doesn't help, contact support [at] fair-coin.org. |

Did another payment using bitbill.eu today; litepaid is working on the malformed url, so for now if you're using the Android wallet: - Copy the payment link using the pay with wallet button - Paste it to a QR code generator site, for example: http://www.qr-code-generator.com/- fix the prefix so it says 'faircoin' - fix the amount and round it up to 6 fractiondigits - Generate and scan using your smartphone The correct format is: faircoin:<address>?amount=123.456789

Testing out Bitbill payment system. In basics everything works. Except that I think that the amount contains too many fraction digits and therefor the payment link / QR code didn't work.. I had to do the payment 'manually'... Already contacted support Now waiting for the payment magic to happen the next workday +1 on speed; payment received this morning |
