1. Put a strong password on your wallet. Keep your all password dump in a password protected file.

2. Never use public WIFI.

3. Always change password in a week.

Owing a bitcoin is not a crime unless it is earned from illegal business. Else, if anybody paid the taxes from the income of bitcoins, then it is not a crime.

Bitcoin is of-course is a currency, a currency for an online world, now emerged, used for trading, purchasing - selling goods, services etc., in such a world where geographically differences are very big but in an online world it makes the world small.
