On the International Day of Charity, a panel of leading experts revealed how the blockchain can help transform the sector and be a force for good.

Public confidence in charities is at an all-time low thanks to a series of exposes that show just how much of every dollar donated actually filters through the chain. It isn’t an impressive figure in most cases and much of the $410 billion donated in the US alone last year was simply wasted.

In 2017 the Federal Trade Commission took action against the Cancer Fund of America and challenged its status as a charity when it revealed that just 3% of donations reached their final destination. In the wake of the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, The Red Cross collected $488 million in donations and four years later it was reported to have built just six houses to help the 100,000 left homeless.

How Can The Blockchain Change Charity?
The blockchain has the potential to change the face of charity and put the donor in direct contact with the recipient. It provides accountability throughout the chain and let’s everybody know just where there money has gone. Smart contracts can trace your money from the moment you donate to the moment it changes a life. It doesn’t just instil confidence, it also provides that ‘feelgood moment’ that could encourage more charitable donations.

It’s a vital step-change for charities around the world, and a series of startups and ICOs are focused on bringing clarity to a relatively murky industry. The blockchain can also unite disparate charities that are working towards the same goals. That can eliminate waste, streamline administration and logistics and help more good causes.

News: China plans to implement blockchain as part of an overhaul of its charity tracking system, the country’s Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) revealed in its action plan Monday, September 10.


As part of the latest initiative involving the use of blockchain tech at a state level, the MCA’s four-year plan through 2022 pledges to “explore the use of blockchain technology in charitable donations, charity tracking, transparent management” and elsewhere.

Officials will also “build a tamper-proof charity organization information query system and enhance the authority, transparency and public trust of information publishing and search services.”

Blockchain will take priority within the plan, with the system monitoring charitable donations to be upgraded by the end of this year. The plan confirms that the blockchain tech component was chosen to “complete the new round of the ‘Charity China’ platform’s upgrade.”

NGOT Project Communication Meeting in Korea
The NGOT Overseas Project Communication Conference was held in South Korea. The well-known blockchain expert in Korea, the founder of the Korean Blockchain Forum, and the main investor of the NGOT project, Mr. Liu Xian (류현), highly recognized the NGOT project and talked about the project investment prospects.

NGOT Launched on TOPBTC
The world's first NGO blockchain project NGOT was launched on the TOPBTC. The former Vice Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President of the China Society for the Promotion of Social Organizations, and the Chairman of the China International Civil Society Cooperation Promotion Association attended the on-line forum. This means that NGOs have entered a new era of “open, transparent” management.

i invest my time in altcoins, ie by participating in their bounty programs, spending money on altcoins no matter how good is bit too risky for my taste.

i think more 90% are scams. For a native english speaker its pretty easy to recognize the scammy bounties due to the language and what they are actually offering, methods of promotion and other obvious red flags.
