21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] Magi | 1st POS-II | Fair Distr | Tor | M7M CPU only on: September 21, 2014, 08:00:12 PM
I am mining with:
1. Dell Poweredge C6100 server I got from eBay with 4 nodes and two 4 core Intel Xeon L5420 CPUs per node.  Hash rate per node=~70 Kh/s
Here is the cpubenchmark.com comparison for the Dual Xeon L5420 compared to other CPUs: https://cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+L5420+%40+2.50GHz&id=1259&cpuCount=2
2. Dell Poweredge C6105 server (eBay) with 3 Nodes, and two 6 core AMD Opteron 2419EE (North Bridge) variety. Hash rate per node=~77Kh/s
Here is the cpubenchmark.com comparison for the Dual AMD Opteron 2419EE compared to other CPUs: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Opteron+2419&id=1858&cpuCount=2

You have probably seen me on nonce-pool hashing under the same moniker I use here.  Current hash rate for these two servers is 524.07kH/s combined.

One server draws at max load about 450 watts for 4 nodes.  For 3 nodes it will be less than 450 watts.

I was previously mining ducknote with these, here is the YouTube video I made: http://youtu.be/zmvVZMRcvFE

Counter-intuitively, the AMD Opteron CPU is cheaper but hashes quicker on M7M algo.
The more expensive Xeon CPU will hash quicker on cryptonight algorithm than the Opteron CPU (as expected).

JoeLao the 3-node Dell Poweredge C6105 is dirt cheap looks junky on the outside (refurbished of course) but it works good, if you need a spare development server.
Here is the eBay link they still have a ton of these (48GB RAM total, so 16GB Ram/node, comes with 3 250GB HD one for each node):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DELL-C6105-CLOUD-SERVER-6x-1-8GHz-AMD-6-CORE-48GB-RAM-3x-250GB-C6100-SERIES-/171187983886?pt=COMP_EN_Servers&hash=item27db99560e

Stratum pool and solo capable miner! Our pool is up and running.

https://github.com/noncepool/m7m-cpuminer

edit: algo  is

Code:
-a m7mhash

Good work nonce pool.
+1 in agreement hashing reliably

Are there any working pool yet?

yes, but no stratum miners..

ocminer do you have connection parameters for your suprnova pool?  I want to try the stratum-mining-proxy from git, the python one to see if it works.  Thanks!  Cool

I also confirmed earlier that it works. Very innovative crypto. Clearly a few investors planned to dump on release whether it worked or not.

Why would they do that? I suppose that didn't find any value in Voip?

I confirmed it works with willpv2 we just finished a call now.
tljenson I just added you to buddies list here is my VoIP wallet address: KMXVAiWCSUFpzSnqs9uhfSxVdt6GdnMpJ9

One thing with GUI, it didn't tell me who was calling me when I clicked answer call.

I also concerned about opening ports on my router. Think about it what better place than in a alt-coin forum to get people to make themselves vulnerable to hacking attacks when many of them are probably holding Bitcoin on their computers? You got a ton of investors interested in this coin many of them I am sure have a lot of Bitcoins on their computers, and your telling them to open ports. So as the other posters  just told me, why don't you try it yourself, comment makes me insanely paranoid. I've heard of worse happening.

That is why I'm suggesting it would ease a lot of minds to actually see some proof other than reassurances. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but that's me.

Good Questions.
However most Communicating wares by default open a port
as well as gaming softwares etc.
This one is done manually is all.
MikeMike can I add you to test my wallet?

Visual steps on setup.
1: forward port 5060 to comp the wallet is running. (If you don't know how to port forward, go here for a step by step guide. Use default guide for your router. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

4:

This is a great guide!  You should add one step in beginning to click Receive Coins, then right click an address to set the VoIP address.
I tested port 5060 and it is open, and sent you some test IM did you get them?

If the Detected NAT type says "(n/a no STUN server configured)" does this matter at all?

Sorry for this newbie question I just compiled the MagiCoin wallet from this Git I found on the http://cryptomagic.com/get-started/download-wallets.htm site.
I am using the following git repo https://github.com/magicoin/magicoin.git

It compiled OK but I get No block source available...22 weeks behind in the status bar, so was wondering if this link is accidentally the first launch of MagiCoin?  If so that git source link needs to be changed on the main site so there is no confusion.
It says version v1.1.0.0 in the Help|About MagiCoin.

Thanks!

That's the wrong page, not for XMG. Pls watch this thread, I will upload stuffs, and modify the OP.

Ahhh no wonder thanks Joe.  Cheesy

There was a shortage on coins so Bittrex I guess kept it up.  In the meantime you can go poke around on http://explorer.neoscoin.com or for the hot days coming up, pre-register at the pools:

Bump.  Is there a Blake-256 pool yet?  I want to point my CPU rigs at Neos  Cool

Dev was active 18 days ago, quite long time for vaccation. Maybe its time to takeover
Let's give moonmoon a chance does anyone from the board know them?

That's wonderful to hear.  May I ask how you have this kind of inside information please share?

I'm not so sure Moonmoon has abandoned the coin.  If so, the community could take over and install a new dev, other coins have survived such a scenario.

Max Keiser opened the Doors to the Interview with GES

Lakhani Enterprise - checks out in Pakistan as an importer in this field.

Explains why GES CEO came out and did Video Presentation and now retweets Max Keiser interview.

There is no question this is all real, too much trouble to be anything else.
Dev. is also 100% active, all companies so far checks out.

Max Keiser is not the kind to endorse financial fraud.  His whole show (or a good portion of it) is about exposing bankster corruption.  Although Max's prognostications on silver price may not have had good market timing, he has worked as a broker on Wall Street and developed a trading system in 1999 (Hollywood Stock Exchange) which Cantor Fitzgerald bought.

hey 33zer0w0lf. there is a pull request on zone's github with fantomcoin support. can you add it to your pool please?
I am looking into this now.
If Zone117x approves the code I will add both fantomcoin and monet verde

Oh goody, I am mining Boolberry on bbr.extremepool.org now but wow, it is slow going.
Would prefer to merge mine.

there is new code for the boolberry pool that is being tested..
I have a separate pool up at http://boolberry.extremepool.org if you are interested in testing.. also the boolberry dev has a test pool up as well.
startum testing.

Will do I just compiled the new cryptozoidberg cpuminer-multi, hashing now.
One minor thing on your page for the instructions on test stratum, you need the link to direct to the cryptozoidberg build of cpuminer-multi rather than lucasjones one and the -a options for cpuminer-multi minerd needs to be -a wildkeccak
Hate to nitpick,  I'm sure anyone testing for you will realize this.  Cool

Why don't you guys go and complain about Moonmoon in the Cloak thread...Cloak is ParticleX from the sounds of it.
You are Right.

That is actually a great idea to make Particle anonymous, but CloakCoin is not Moonmoon, its different devs.
Moonmoon started a mining pool for Cloak which was a very good idea considering how well the coin has done.

Oh, now i see it.
I compiled it on debian maybe I'm missing something.
On the other hand  i managed to compile Monero without a problem.

I get the exact same compile error as you using latest Ubuntu 14.04.  Monero also compiles fine for me and a previous version of boolberry was OK for me as well but not latest...
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FCN] What would you change/introduce to FCN to make it more valuable? on: June 03, 2014, 10:10:37 PM
Was talking to bitcoinbear in PM he said I should post here to the ideas forum.
There was this open-source project called DarkMarket which allows for anonymous and decentralized trading of goods and services, with an escrow feature by which a trusted third part (based on voting system) would arbitrate disputes or approve transactions.
Since then the original developers all have moved on to other projects except for one of the original people.
The DarkMarket project has re-branded itself to OpenBazaar (twitter is @OpenBazaar ). http://www.coindesk.com/darkmarket-alternative-launches-friendlier-title-openbazaar/
I wonder could Fantomcoin or other reps from the CryptoNote community try to create a strategic partnership?
OpenBazaar has not launched yet, originally they were just going to use Bitcoin for transactions, and anonymize the transactions with DarkWallet (if I am not mistaken). http://www.wired.com/2014/04/dark-wallet/
One of the key elements to a coins success is its eventual adoption for actual trade of real goods and services, and merchant adoption.

OpenBazaar source appears to be all up on Git: https://github.com/OpenBazaar/OpenBazaar

Or alternatively, maybe the CryptoNote community could create their own decentralized marketplace where CryptoNote coins are the medium of exchange of choice?
