Regarding other miners with higher TDP, every one should calculate if the added hash-rate compensates the extra electricity bill, some have cheap electricity and better cooling but some not.

For some reason, something tells me that XZC will shine first than ZEC! Could anyone in the community confirm?  Anyway, it's interesting these things that people underestimate and always choose the most famous! I'll be looking to get some coins by the end of this month! You could be right, I'm also hoping that once MTP's mainnet is launched that can help decentralize mining better as well. +1, Few days ago it was down to 0.0022 BTC, very cheap price to pay for this coin, it can easily go back up-to ~40 USD, I think it's better investment then most other coins right now, I am happy to hear your thoughts. |

Update: coolMiner v1.5:*Fixed "--benchmark" mode, now you can benchmark lyra2z algo. *Fixed memory leaks in lyra2z.c *Should be more stable then v1.4, also will exit miner if no connection to pool.*Time between fee mining increased by 20%(every hour+, less pool switching per 24H). *Added "Blks.found:" to display the number of Block Found. what is your 1080Ti model? because mine Zotac 1080Ti AMP-X also gets over 6.5Mhs at stock(boosts to 1987Mhz).

P-limit has no impact on Lyra2z, the power usage is always ~55% of your GPU's TDP.
My 1080Ti is 320W so it uses 160W~170W at min, other 1080Ti blower model with 250W TDP uses 120W~130W.
Only option to really oc the core clock is to increase the core voltage, try increasing the core voltage in small steps and see if helps.

I think you should ask the AMD Lyra2z miner tdxminer devs, because lyra2 2nd kernel takes 75%+ GPU time on PHI2 algo so again it should be faster on AMD vs Nvidia.

I got Zotac AMP Extreme (320W TDP @bios) so the min power I can get is 160W @50% TDP, for me getting to 3.7Mhs is easy and should be at 160~170W, going to 3.75~3.85 is the hard part.
I am interested to see how other lower TDP 1080Ti models can do with tweaking, I can't get lower then 50% TDP on my card unless I lower Vcore but it lowers Core Clock- unlike 250W 1080Ti's that can have better hashrate @ 130W.

Price dropped significantly. Maybe someone got free zcoins from 51% attack..
Maybe, I think they gonna make the price to drop hard and get Zcoin holders in panic to sell at cheap and then they will buy back at dirty cheap prices for MTP and make huge profits. |

well) i just find a decision) it s not beautiful but hope it works) i just made one bat file to start miner and another one that counting down 15 minutes (for example) and killing miner process in task manager/waiting for couple seconds and starts first bat again in new cli window) and starts counting again. this rough thing hope will help from hanging and other problems)
why all the trouble? V1.4 exit's miner in case of connection problem, so u can use it, frequent miner restart looses profit because of the time takes to send first share after miner start. V1.4 should be better in this case. I will try to check if something changed in ccminer v2.3 in this matter. |

Please fix your miner so that -r 0 exits (and not retries indefinitely) as is standard with the other major miners. I did it with V1.4, but the miner crush/restart wastes time too, the problem is with ccminer when using 2 pools, I am trying to fix that. I think it's better to mine other lyra2z coins and sell them to buy Zcoin.
I believe MTP gonna have very good effect on Zcoin while other popular GPU coins being harvested by ASIC's, Only Zcoin seems to have an ACE up their sleeve :-).

Thanks for the feedback on the V1.4, I will try to figure it , at least in not stuck in a loop of "retry after" and now exits, I hope to fix if soon, sry for that but it looks like ccminer not working very stable with 2 pools as mentioned above.
Regarding hide-diff and -q, it's just saves unneeded processes(CPU load) of calculation the diff of share and displaying log per GPU, this is why I made the -q to work after 180 sec so you could start mining and see the stats that all GPU's working OK and then it will enter the Quiet mode.

back to 1.3 too... too many disconnection and miner restart
Tried the 1.4 too, but i have the same problem with it, after 30-60 min miner exits and not restart, going back to 1.3
I see, indeed there is something wrong when using more then 1 pool, I am still figuring it out, just saw this too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770064.msg40580515#msg40580515So if V1.3 works stable for you keep using it. I will continiue searching for better solution and update the thread when I find one. |
