Looks like the site is down

Anyone having issues with deposits? Its taking long than usual. Anyone?
Yeah, it took quite a long time for the deposit to come through. I'd say around 20-30 minutes maybe. The transaction was confirmed on Etherscan much sooner but the deposit required 20 confirmations on BiteBTC's side before the balance was updated.
Says i still cant trade, need full verification. Lol. Another days of waiting. I cant believe it. Lol
25  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 23, 2018, 03:30:52 PM
I am in. I got partially verified too. Anyone here who tried trading so far? And withdrawal?
Nice!

I successfully deposited one asset and tried to trade it but I keep getting "In order to start trading on this market, it's required to pass full verification". I wonder if it's just for this particular market or is this "feature" generally applied.

Haven't tried to withdraw yet. I'll probably just wait for a couple of days to see if they actually enable crypto trading (and withdrawal for up to $2000 equivalent) for partially verified accounts.
Thanks ill take note of this

The site loads but when I try the verification gives this inscription.Nothing helps.
Did you try using another browser?
Ip address issue, not browser. I tried 3 different browsers, and even tried using vpn, same message.
Try rebooting your computer/router. A different IP might be assigned to your computer on restart.

30  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 23, 2018, 02:06:01 PM
Now my account is "partially verified".

And they allow me to trade, withdraw, and deposit crypto. Max. $2000 daily.

What the hell?

Now it's the second part of the scam: Suddenly allow all those people to deposit their BTC, and then goodbye....off to the Seychelles.  Grin

And they also write that the "full verification" will take another 14 days.

Of course, of curse. But it's now allowed to deposit BTC there. How cool's that!?  Huh

They will now wait for people to deposit as much BTC as possible, and then exit scam!

Shitty scammers!  Angry
Hey brakmic, have you tested it? Did you try trading even for a small amount? Does it allow you to withdraw?
31  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 23, 2018, 01:33:25 AM
I spent the last 4 hours in following trades to one of the coins in bitebtc. The selling and buying lists are not moving yet transaction history move almost every minute. The buy and sell isnt matching with trade history. I am becoming doubtful, and leaning towards that bots are behind the trade, until i really get approved and see for myself. For now, i say volume is dubious.

I tried digging deeper and followed the explorer on one of the coins i was monitoring on bitebtc. Their explorer shows none to little movement yet i see trading happening almosy every minute on this exchange.

I'll try to share more updates and screen shot when i get a hold of my pc, i am currently moblie and dont know how to share screen shots from my phone.

With this, i am getting very doubtful on this exchange.

Thanks for this forum, hope you dont mind sharing my personal experiences as well.

1.I have been a victim of fake exchanges. You see rates are higher than market, then you try to deposit and trade. One exchange disappeared then the other one you cant withdraw coins.

Lesson learnt: if exchange rate is too good to be true, then most of the time its not true. Try to read thoroughly on user feedback, fora and blogs. Try to deposit and withdraw a little amount just to test its functioning. If there is a slightest doubt you may have on one exchange, please do due diligence, or might as well stay out of it. Don't be too enticed with the exuberrant exchange rates, that is a bait.

2. ICO / new coins - in my early stage, ive dwelt in buying coins during ICO, hoping and crossing my fingers that price will go up and profit from it. Most of it,  until now are have lower value, some with no trading volume at all.

Lesson learnt: Always research and don't afraid to ask questions and dont blindly buy or invest on ICOs or even on cheap coins hoping for the value to go up.
a. Check fora - as what ive learnt from this thread, check how engage the developers and the community are, with caution to look out for trolls or minions or bounty hunters who are paid to say something good about the project.

b. Check for their whitepaper. Some coins i have doesnt even have it, some have, however, if you look closely to it, fund distribution is not realistic, roadmaps are delayed, some are obviously copy paste with poor writing, some are confusing, and doesnt even disclose a single person behind the coin. Some would disclose some fake entities which when you try to check on social media platforms, you would have zero results.

Nowadays, i believe if you want to sell your coins publicly, owners should go out public. Why be anonymous? I dont believe for security reasons, how about public security?

c. Lending platforms. More coins now are enticing people to join their lending platforms which locks up you coins for returns from their trading. Some promising returns as much as 60% to 100% monthly. Again, too good to be true. If you look closely on their historical trade, there is zero to neil transaction or falling to stagnant value, how come they are able to give such returns? Definitely not true. There is some lending platform as well you cant even withdraw your remaining btc (which i used to buy the lending coins), and the daily profit i get from them i cant even trade on a reasonable value.

d. The usual MLMs or pyramiding scheme. The payout they give from referrals are out of proportion. Even if it is not, this kind of marketing strategy for coin adoption is a cheap strategy now a days.
Got to go for now, but ill surely add more of my not so good experience in the future.

Thanks

35  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 22, 2018, 02:39:18 PM

Honestly, I don't know why you're laughing. I also read the news exchange, today's the day of judgment:)

I waited so long for the moment when the KYC procedure will be canceled, but today it did not happen, maybe tomorrow?

News is still no, we will wait, maybe tomorrow something will be announced? I have accumulated a lot of coins that I would like to sell on this exchange.

I want to note that today on August 22, I do not see any changes. We are waiting for explanations from the exchange administration.

One good thing about bitebtc support is they are responsive on emails. Of course some are automated replies, but if you try sending them a personalized email with your query, they'll respond. Not saying you will get a favorable reply, but at least they'll look into it and reply. I tried doing in some exchanges, they wont't even reply to a simple question.

Going back to verifications of account, many are still waiting for it, but to mind its just two days past their announced date of August 21
I would still give them a couple of days, say a week to approve applications.

I may say, bitebtc is relatively thorough (and slow) in verifyng accounts. I really hope this next few days my account and yours will be approved. All the best!

I have a feeling my account will be verified soon. I hope the same thing on your end

21, Tuesday has come.Where is the simplification?SCAM!!!

From their twitter account.

As promised... cant wait for mine to be verified, how about you?

....

We are pleased to announce that simplified verification of traders has been started. Traders  have already started receiving e-mail notifications about the passing of partial verification, which makes it possible to trade in crypto and withdraw up to $2,000 per day in equivalent.
39  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 20, 2018, 01:20:38 PM

No worries, we are not going to "hate" you.
We usually laugh at all BiteBTC supporters.
You seem to be a new version of "BiteBTC minions".

More polite, less stupid, but still a minion.
  Grin

btw. learn to quote properly.

First of all i hope i quoted this well. As i have observed newbees cant just reply without quoting ;(

Secondly, thanks for spending time and even replyng on my feedback.

To further my opinion, if bitebtc is a scam, they are really doing a poor job about it. I cant really reconcile why they would not approve applications, wherein if they do that, they can scam more people and get more ill profits. Why would they choose to be a small time scammer and not go big time? With what they are doing now, not approving applications, many people are just pissed, just like some of the people here, yet, they remained to stand their ground and did(i think) try to comply with KYC process. For me it doesnt make sense. If you scam, scam all the way - meaning approve all applications, but they are not.

With the latest development of KYC and jurisdiction, in line with their press release, in just a few days we will know if they will be approving applications, which includes mine. If nothing happens post August 21, ill be humble enough to admit i took the wrong side. However, i encourage everyone to remain decent and calm and remain professional whatever sides they take. For my end, if proven that i am wrong, id still be compost, and still not stoop to an earthworms level ( sorry for my french). For i know i can deliver whatever convictions i may have, without being derogatory, or hurting others feelings because of my harsh words or comment.

Btw, i am not a minion of anyone, as i believe you are not a minion of whoever and believe you have your own mind and principles.

These are just opinions of one person, me, just like your own opinion. These are all just opinions for now, as i believe no one here is an expert or an authority in determining scams for exchanges, these are all educated guesses based from what we know and based from what we want to believe.

I think the original author of this thread already tagged the authorities of singapore on their twitter accnts. And I think you shared some links where to report scams (i maybe wrong, apologies if i misquoted that). So let them decide, as they are the authorities. Lets just continue to have intelectual exchanges, which will help the community to weigh things and stop prosecuting and even persecuting entities.

40  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BiteBTC is a scam exchange on: August 20, 2018, 10:04:53 AM
It seems to me that it is too early to accuse the exchange of fraud, I read a lot of negative reviews, but did not see direct evidence.

This happens all over the forum, it's called black marketing, I've seen how many exchanges and projects are accused of fraud, but these same exchanges and projects have been working for many years, they have their own customer base. I have the main question, who will work for several years with the same exchange, if it is a fraud?

Hey, paid believer, if this "exchange" is that serious why have they locked their thread on Bitcointalk?

Nothing to hide?

Hi guys,

I am not a crypto expert, nor pretending to be one. I am also not an expert in determining scams and the likes. As you could see in my profile, i am just a newbie here, tho i try to read as thorough as my time could permit. So let me share my 2 cents here, as i see this platform a democratic avenue for views and opinions, even for small time like me.

As early as first quarter this month, bitebtc had released its intention to comply with the KYC procedures of singapore, as they were physically situated there. I know everyone who is crypto enthusiast noticed how government now wants to regulate crypto, exchanges and the likes. Bitebtc, as legal as possible, wanted to adhere to the law. And this has been published on their newsfeeds, tweeter accnts, and at times would answer to your emails and chime into bitcoin talk discussions.

There was a time they were actively participating in the discussions despite the bash they are getting, later on they just decided to focus on appealing their case with singapore. Despite that, there were regular updates from them on their case.

In the recent past, they change jurisdiction, since they find the regulations in singapore stiff and already becoming detrimental to their business and clients. Just recently they announced, that they got a green signal to process registrations, no later than august 21, however, they also put a disclaimer, that approvals may take days because of huge amount of pending applications. As i saw on one of their email replies to one of the free thinkers here, they have roughly approved 10,000 members prior to KYC implementions, and pending 60000 more (probably more than that by now).

Crossing my fingers, we will see approved applications post August 21 and moving forward.

Some disgruntled members here are actually coin developers, who paid to be listed on their exchange - they all have the right to feel they were cheated or scammed. My opinion is, bitebtc could have handled those cases appropriately and could have been upfront with them with the situation they face, since right now, they doubt the legitimacy of the exchange because not a single supporter of their coins is being approved.

On the other hand, if bitebtc was an exit scam, why didnt it approve all those 70k + applications. Common sense tells me, it would have profited a lot and could even entice more listings if he did that and just ran away with all the coins their members have and the listing fees coin dev paid. But it chose not to do that.

Again, this is just my 2 cents, I am entitled to it, as you are entitled to yours.

I would probably have many haters after this post, but i encourage you to wait until the 21st and a couple of days. For all you know i may be wrong, or i may be right. So for all the haters out there, give bitebtc this week. And just persecute me next week, or hoping this week wil change your mind set.

Also i appreciate your concern to the community, by warning them of possible scams and what not. However, what if you were wrong? Theres also a chance you are right. That will be answered in the next few weeks or so. But i hope i am right..
