21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why lend? on: July 03, 2014, 01:18:45 AM
My concern with BTCJam's no collateral loans is that there is nothing stopping someone with a Judgement on their record from telling the Collection agencys to take a hike and never paying a dime back.  It's a bad mark on their credit but if it's shot anyway, who cares?  The laws are definitely in the borrower/scammers favor.  I personally would never seek interest thru bitcoin loans.  What if you loan 1 BTC and the price spikes to 5K, and Bob can't possibly afford to buy 1BTC to pay you back.  It's just rife with problems, but I hope everyone gets paid.  I did Prosper.com for a bit and ended up breaking even after one scammer just walked away from a $1300 loan. No money collected.  All in all, I experienced a ~20% default rate on my loans, and Prosper didn't do dick about it.

Great post OP.

I can tell you the killer apps and quick access to bitcoins are rolling out and coming soon. If it weren't for all the muddy regulations, we'd be a lot further along.
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: ugly inverse head and shoulder is appearing on the hourly chart on: June 17, 2014, 06:13:20 PM
Inverse head and shoulders chart patterns are bullish not bearish.

That's what I was thinking, too.  I don't day trade tho so meh.. carry on.

Maybe they are just moving them to a mutlisig/split key wallet to increase security of the coins.

Everyone talking about bubbles don't realize that a new "bubble" doesn't start until after the new ATH.  Am I wrong?

It must be time, all the usual trolls out on the prowl. TTM & CCMFs.

I know this is repost, I don't care either.

That's a cool ass image.

Thirded. Mesmerizing. It's only a matter of time before that 510 wall gets tested.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin startup Circle unveils no-fee digital currency banking on: May 16, 2014, 05:41:33 PM
Thanks guy, I'll have more time later to fully read up on it. just getting twitter/btalk updates so far...definitely sounds like a fair way to run it...even tho it may have a huge affect on my small business plans. Sad
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin startup Circle unveils no-fee digital currency banking on: May 16, 2014, 05:15:56 PM
So, do users benefit at all from future price increases?  The way i read it..

I put $450 in today, i get roughly "1 BTC"  (in quotes because you don't own anything, you've paid for access to the network)

Let's say a whale comes along and pushes price to $900 on Sunday.

Do I now control ".5 BTC" on my circle account? Or do i have 1 BTC still and more purchasing power?  Sounds like the former, and in that case, Circle has just made a killing on my deposit.

I never saw Slater being the bitcoin-stealing type. Zach and Screech, maybe.
Lisa Turtle mined before it was cool, doesn't need to steal.
32  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Who would like to have ios BTC wallet? on: March 24, 2014, 12:22:31 PM
I downloaded and played with the bitwallet app last night.. not bad if you know what you are doing.  As a potential ATM operator, I will probably point IOS people to it since it provides them a safe way to purchase bitcoins at the ATM.  From what I can tell, even a phone with malware wouldn't be able to steal the coins.

I also thoroughly enjoyed paying a TX fee of .00001 last night.  Beautiful.

OK I'm done, you can believe what you want, and I'll believe what i want.  No convincing us otherwise.  Good day.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Doxxed: Don't Blame The Reporter on: March 06, 2014, 04:32:19 PM
Good points, but you don't "turn over" any of those things... I also don't think it's a secret NSA project...  I'm the world's biggest media skeptic, but this finding seems pretty legit.  There are a lot of things pointing to it being a real scoop.  A complete mindfuck for me last night when I first found out but after reading the article.. it seems pretty well researched. it bothers me she got his email from a 3rd party.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Doxxed: Don't Blame The Reporter on: March 06, 2014, 04:21:06 PM
I don't know guys.. what possible question could have produced a response like that?

I see a lot of embarrassing confirmation biases on BT today.

40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bank Flexcoin shuts down after massive theft on: March 04, 2014, 08:44:38 PM
So crazy. Yesterday, I was about to reply to their last tweet asking how they intend to prove they had all BTCs reserves after stumbling across their business recently. That would have been epic timing but i never sent it.. damn.

Gotta hold everyone to a higher level of standard before we even consider doing biz with them. Although I would never use or advise anyone else to use a service like this, was researching it anyway...at least their cold storage was really cold storage.
