is betarigs advertising for cloud mining or just to us rig owners? I mean they are taking fees ;-)
I don't see them on other scrypt forums....
That is what I was discussing with Mux few weeks ago, there has to be a way to generate more demand. Any suggestion how to do this?

Is that the captain of the ship?
I wish! It's just the Minister of Slow Shipments and Customs Delays in the glorious Republic of South Africa, and he's here to answer questions! Can we mail him a letter? Surface mail of course...

Renting is really cheap at the moment but i think it is still profitable for leaser. I've just rented my small rig with 760kh/s for 7 days for 0.0084 BTC/day. Very cheap but this is still 0.25LTC per day. If i would mine at give-me-coins i would probably mine about 0.15-0.2LTC per day. Lousy profit since i've paid almost 900EUR for the rig and now you can rent it for so cheap but i dont have time to mine alts... any alternatives? i think that renting is so cheap atm because mining is not so profitalbe for renter neather. Prices for alts are going down and more and more LTC script ASIC miners appearing so the difficulty is rising and GPU mining is less and less profitable, unfortunately Most of new guys (new to Betarigs) are missing an important point: the current demand for scrypt miners sits at 1.6-18Gh/s for many days now. All renters that are paying today 0.008BTC/M/day were happily renting a few days ago at 0.012-0.015BTC/day. By lowering the price, you just devalue yourself, while you're not increasing the demand. In other words, if it weren't for newcomers who position themselves on price alone, more of us would be renting out our rigs. So your logic that you are making more at betarigs than somewhere else is a bit flawed, because you could be making even more here if you priced it higher. Don't get me wrong, I'm seeing this kind of behaviour every day, but in real life you have the choice to either deal with a cheap amateur, or with a professional. Betarigs as a marketplace is unable to effectively provide that distinction. Just for the reference, one of my rigs was rented for over 500 hours at the Betarigs - but not at current prices.

betarigs is being invaded with cheap people. i wont drop my price again and i will leave this network. i will be better with mining new coins.
Hate to say this, but you're correct - some of the newer rigs (most rigs with numbers >2000) are probably operated by kids who would be happy just to make enough to buy a pizza (or a beer). At these prices, no one serious can even be bothered to provide any support during the rentals. All my rigs are offline now, pointed elsewhere. I know, I can setup the higher price limit and leave them online, but constantly polling betarigs for work will take some efficiency from hashing at other places. So, Mux, we had some discussion via PM about this a few weeks ago, and I hope that some of the ideas will yield results, so Betarigs can again be the place it used to be.

Hi Mux,
I have problem tracking and reconciling all these payments. Is there a way to improve it on your end (as suggested earlier, either by adding CSV export, or simply using a checkbox next to each payment that rig owner can mark received payment)?
Hello, CSV export is pretty high on the todolist, I would expect this to come live end of next week, or beginning of the next. Impoz now working full time on the website part, the frontend should get updates faster! Mux Good job - responsive as usual!

Sorry guys. In the afternoon as we approached 500MH we started to have some orphaning issues. If you started mining < 6 hours ago then you got the short end of that stick. It's stable now, but we've removed the mining instructions from the site until we can put in a scalable fix.
Overall BTC/MH/24h was .005 which wasn't all that bad considering the numbers I'm seeing on poolpicker.eu, but still very disappointing. We're working on it 24/7. I've barely slept in days!
Thanks everyone for risking your hashes with us. We're determined to make it worth while.
That's all good, but if you really want to provide full transparency, as you claim, you need to have BTC/MH/day published. Otherwise, this could be one of those "good idea but poorly executed". BTW, I scaled down from ~8MH/s to 1MH/s for now...

I like the profit-shifting idea.
Pointing 4 rigs your way now (4.5M, 2.2M, 1M and 450K) for a few hours. Let's see how it goes!
Yeah, not sure if profit will be where I expect it to be... after 4 hours mining with ~8Mhs I have only 0.0013 exchanged and 0.0018 unexchanged, so I should expect about 0.0186BTC/day with 8MH/s? That's only 0.0023BTC/MH/Day BTW, the reject rate across 4 rigs is about 3%, which is acceptable. Perhaps, posting the profitability will improve the transparency?

Met Damnsammit here locally to pick up my custom frame, it's awesome! Looking forward to getting one more soon. Now US customers don't have to wait to get some of the best frames for mining. Hey Tif glad to hear you and Damnsammit were able to meet up locally. Thank you very much for posting about the experience also. Mind posting some picture of yours setup? Here are few pics of my custom frame, made and shipped quickly by Damnsammit.

FYI, happy to report that my order is making progress.
EMS parcel left the South Africa on Feb-28, and it already arrived in Canada today (Mar-3). Now it's just waiting for customs and local postal delivery from Quebec to Ontario.
CanadaPost attempted delivery of Fluffy's parcel to my home today; that's 5 days transit (including weekend) with EMS from South Africa to Canada. Fluffy, do yourself a favor and remove surface mail option asap.

Insane price war going on, people renting out for 0.009xx ... that is like $13,5 a day for a rig with ~2000khs
I think this rig owner is the winner: Mining rig #2208 AdiS Rig - 270x Price: 0.000559 BTC/day 430 Kh/s 0.0013 BTC/Mh/day Yup, it's not 0.013 BTC/Mh/day, but 0.0013 BTC/Mh/day

More and more rigs coming online but not enough renters so prices will get lower and lower.
Prices are already at the point where it's more profitable to mine for yourself instead of renting out... My rigs are "Down for maintenance" until prices start to make economic sense again.

Could total rental time be added under Riq quality? I think it's quality indicator as much important as number of jobs done; average job time may vary between rigs.
+1 still great fan of your service and happy to see it growth every day.
A little input from my side again:
There seems to be "worse rated (9/10)" rigs which are in the best rated rigs section which have more (1-2) reviews but were rented less. But my 10/10 rig doesnt show up because not all renters gave/give a reply...
thanks again for considering the input!
The algo is, first compute the average feedback score rounded, and then on the one with the same score, the number of reviews win. (Because they are many rigs with only 10/10! ) Mux, I think you need to change the algo, as the current one favours short term rentals. Most stable rigs are rented for 1,2,3 days, and have potential to receive only one feedback for all this time. While, less stable rigs could get up to eight 3-hour rentals and 8 reviews in a 24-hour period... You should give more weight to total rented time, than number of rentals. I am testing this by intentionally limiting one of my rigs to 3 and 6hr rentals vs. one with 1-2-3-7 day rentals. Guess which one is getting more 10/10s?

Somebody please add more keccak (sha-3) rigs, helixcoin launch in ~3 hours!
is there a way to tell what my scrypt hashrate would be in Kessak? Like a conversion factor? I've never mined anything other than scrypt and have no baseline to compare to. i.e, if I were to use my r9 270 rigs, is 225mhash/s per gpu a reasonable assumption? It would make sense to test your rig by doing some Keccak mining before you start renting it out. Then, you'll know the answer to your question.

I rented 6 rigs 3 hours, 5 of them are coming to an end but 1 of them is still stuck on "Rented - Available in 3 hours", is there anything I can do?
It looks like that rig is off-line. Have you tried to contact rig owner? Also, I suggest you open a ticket with support, as they can assist you.

not paid for 48 hours now.
Hoping this isn't mt gox part 2.
