21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the best coin to buy apart from bitcoin on: January 11, 2020, 05:59:45 PM
Couple of coins you can look in to. I'm not gonna say these coins listed below are best, but they're more likely to give you good profit if you would also DYOR, perhaps I'm a long-term hodler.

Matic Token
Atomic Wallet Coin (AWC)
Light House Token (LHT)
BetProtocol Token (BEPRO)
STEEM

See coinmarketcap.com for information about all of them.

Bitcoin Suisse Offers Dash Staking Service
https://www.bitcoinsuisse.com/news/bitcoin-suisse-offers-dash-staking-service

Quote
As the leading crypto-financial services company in Switzerland, Bitcoin Suisse is constantly adding new and innovative services to its client offering.
This includes assisting clients who wish to stake their crypto holdings with Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains.

Now in addition to Tezos and Ethereum 2 services, Bitcoin Suisse is proud to announce its service for staking with Dash masternodes – the part of the Dash network that
employs PoS and helps support advanced services and governance on the network. As with other blockchain networks which employ PoS, Bitcoin Suisse makes it easy to
commit even small crypto holdings and earn rewards without operating and maintaining validator or masternode infrastructure. There is no minimum amount of Dash required
to use Bitcoin Suisse’s Dash staking service.

Dash is extremely expensive to stake so this could be a better opportunity for people to participate. However, I have never heard of this company so I wouldn't trust them.

Personally if i were to stake through a centralized third party, i would stake with Kraken (after they finished implementing staking for Dash).

https://www.kraken.com/en-us/features/staking-coins

On the other hand, Switzerland does have one of the most strict compliance and regulations with regards to crypto i heard. Meaning that crypto-financial services companies
need to comply to a lot of rules before they are allowed to operate within Switzerland.

OH cool. Kraken is a lot better but I think decentralized staking rocks. If you will need one, head to atomicwallet.io
It happens right inside atomic wallet and I could some of the coins you listed up there are available in there.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Staking WAR has begun, who is wining it? on: January 11, 2020, 05:49:39 PM
Why are they taking blows? I suppose cos they know probably things might turn out crazy tomorrow and they just take over people's stakes coins. But cryptocurrency is becoming interesting as things change for good.
Now, there is a way you can stake coins without having to do that on exchanges. It's called decentralized staking and that is done with Atomic wallet. It is a non custodian decentralized wallet service that let's users stake cryptocurrencies and getting reward from validators. Quite fascinating.
I do only need to download the wallet, own my key and decide whether to stake or not and never to worry if an exchange with exit scam or get hacked. More info on Atomicwallet.io

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about IEO on IMO Wallet? on: January 04, 2020, 08:41:22 AM
Hello friends, I would like to invite you to discuss about IEO. I just tried it. You can feel directly 10% of the investment and the rest will be opened every day. You can suggest or comment on the listed IEO. Say plus-minus here!
I am here because I like investing and trading.

In my opinion, the shortcoming is that the remaining coins from the investment will spend 365 days to be able all to unlock.

Download IMO Wallet - Android & Registration IMO Exchange.

I suppose IMO is a decentralized wallet? If not, you need one for your smooth trading. Try out Atomic wallet. See atomicwallet.io
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How NOT To Get Scammed on: January 04, 2020, 08:35:46 AM
I believe that every good lesson starts with a good story and on this note, I want to tell you about the experience I had that made me cautious of "Get rich quick" schemes online especially those pertaining to Cryptocurrencies.

I discovered Bitcoin in early 2013 and although I didn't take it seriously at first, I was earning little money from it doing tasks online (pay for view, faucets and such), I took it more as a hobby and never intended on selling the bitcoin, I just knew in my heart that it would do great so I wanted to accumulate as much as possible without having to spend my money buying it (this was before I got into mining), fast forward to 2015 when the money doubling schemes were everywhere, I kept seeing adverts online and even though I knew better, I decided to invest in one of them (Avabitcoin) with the coins I got from my early days of discovering bitcoin, Avabitcoin was a platform where you invest bitcoin and they supposedly invest it and return profits to you on a daily basis, I decided to take the risk and invested for the first day, got back my money plus 12% profit, and greed overtook me and I did kept doing it for 2 more weeks before they vanished with my funds. I kept going all in even when I had already doubled my money.

If you want to avoid getting scammed online, you just have to follow the following:

Greed: Greed has led a lot of people straight to rekt, like my story above would have told you, I couldn't resist the pull of greed even when I had doubled my funds.

HYIPs: When it looks too good to be true, then it's probably too good to be true, when you see any investments that promise high yield returns, please stay far away from them, when you see genuine projects that offers returns, most of their returns are so low, some of them are average of 10% per annum and it's a wonder that we see platforms offering 10% and above in a day and we gladly jump straight into rekt, like I said, if it sounds too good to be true, then it's too good to be true.

FOMO: If not for the hype that Avabitcoin generated, I would not have invested in it in 2015, learn how to DYOR and avoid what others have to say about projects they seem to support, infact your mindset should be that everybody is trying to rip you off so if you always look at every hyped project with that mindset, you would have a clearer picture of the project without the blindfold of FOMO.

Rushing: Avoid rushing into any investment because you heard it's paying others, one of the virtues of a Cryptocurrency investor is patience, Cryptocurrency investments are high risk investments and you have to treat it like gambling, never invest more than you can afford to lose, never go all in on any project no matter how good it looks.

EDIT:
Click on random websites: Many airdrop websites you see these days asking for personal details are fake and many of them are just clever ways to steal your private details and use it to steal your funds, be careful of the links you click and if possible, bookmark your sensitive websites (the ones that need private information like private keys and passwords) so that you wouldn't fall for a clone website.

Use new wallets: We can all remember the recent incident that happened with satowallet where the wallet stopped working and users lost a sizable amount of funds, we should stick to the existing and trusted wallets instead of just jumping into any random wallets swe see online, many of them don't have your best interest at heart.

Repeat Passwords:  I was just surfing through the forum a few minutes ago and saw a post where a guy managed to hack an ICO website and contacted the admins and the admins just don't care, never repeat passwords in two websites so that if a hacker manages to get their hands on one of your passwords, they would not be able to affect your funds in other platforms.

Quote
Please try to include telegram scams on your list, they are trending big now and almost all newbies from india have fall victim to this scam tricks, scammers steal project teams image and use a near identity name too, for example a legit project team member can  go by @fisher as the username and scammers will change the name to @flsher with same profile image to give you good offer, if you don't check very well you will think its legit.

If you have any similar experience, please kindly share it, it might help others (especially the newbies to avoid being scammed by shady projects out there and if I see good suggestions, I would edit this post and add them as well.

Seen some awesome answers and I would be adding them soon, keep the suggestions coming.

The story of satowallet was a touching one. I have indeed learned from it. But now, I would recommend anyone looking for a better wallet to simply use a decentralized wallet such as Atomic Wallet. It gives users full ownership of their privacy and assets with added 300+ cryptocurrencies. Users can also purchase bitcoin directly from the wallet. The most interesting feature of the wallet to me is the reduces fee.Users can send funds at with very minimal ETH as fee. https://atomiwallet.io
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to prepare for long term HODL on: January 04, 2020, 08:26:16 AM
Note: This is not about how to identify good coins to HODL
This is about how you can be a good long term holder

1. You must have another source of income
Either in crypto space or outside crypto space you must have other source of income, there was a time when i used to rely on coins i hold for monthly income but most time they failed me because some altcoins takes more than a month to add value. You can learn trading or find a better job to get constant income for your daily needs.

2. Not all altcoins are good for long term holding
Some altcoins are too weak to have better value overtime, these coins only add value to price once in a blue moon,WHY?because the power of demand is too low and they have no working product,i belief that working product is what makes a coin have many more investors

3.HODL Only Altcoins With Real Use Case
There are different categories of coins with use cases, many use case are weak use case, for example using fashion  designer to back a token is a weak use case to me because it means you can only use the token to buy the designer wears and many will call this a real use case? no it wont do very well.
Make sure that the real use case of every altcoins you hold will be very reasonable, the products backing them up must be something that is different and will catch the eye of investors, the usefulness  must be outstanding .

4. Stay Updated Always
Opportunity comes but once as many know it,so always stay updated about crypto, read crypto news online and keep tracks on your altcoins so that you wont miss future updated or even token swaps, some altcoins i hold have already switched to MainNet and im glad i dont missed the opportunity, you can use blockfolio app to track your altcoins.

Altcoin season is what many are waiting for, even new projects are waiting for altcoin season to return before they get listed on exchanges,im sure of one thing and that is good things dont come easily, today is bitcoin turn to reign and one day altcoins will have its day as well.

Good tips. I also think something is missing here. I suppose if anyone is hodling a coin, it shouldn't be on exchange at all. People gotta be safe this year by moving their tokens and coins to a wallet they owns the key. Atomic wallet is one good example of such. Can get it on atomicwallet.io . Also, You want to check if the team is active before you hodl a coin for long.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to 2020, the year of cryptocurrency bull market. on: January 04, 2020, 08:14:09 AM
Hey Vision2020, happy new year. As we expect bull to run, let's be safe this year from scam exits and exchange hacks. Solution is to own a non-custodian crypto wallet where users control their keys. I'm recommending atomic wallet for anyone who does not already have one. visit atomicwallet.io . Watch out for Atomic wallet coin AWC this year. watch out for other coins like LHT, USDX, Matic, others.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will XRP repeat last 2017 bull run? on: January 04, 2020, 08:06:03 AM
Even though it has been a rough year for XRP, the asset was one of the top performers in 2017, during the last major bull run.

The question is then debated as to whether XRP could ever see this kind of performance again, with mixed opinions for and against.

Click here to read the full news

I know this is kind of absurd, but anything is possible. Of course, we do all believe that XRP and other cryptocurrencies will have the right moment to repeat like what happened in the 2017 bull run.

However, in my own analysis, there might be less than 1% chance that it would happen again.

We all know that as altcoin holders, that we are after in making profits after holding them for quite a long while.

But I also know that when it comes for bull run discussions about XRP, there's gonna be a heated debate (but I think they're in favor more of the bearish run than the bull run as of this time for this coin).

Do you think XRP will repeat its bull run like in 2017 in the near future or not?

There is every chance it does. but for now, there is no pointer to show such will happen. But if it accidentally does, then its all good. Meanwhile, cherish your XRP by keeping them safe using atomic wallet which gives you the benefit of full ownership.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of BNB? on: January 04, 2020, 08:00:58 AM
BNB was one of the most profitable exchange tokens before a while but now the value has dropped by over 50% as it's trailing at a mere $14 as of now and the same was above $35 in the month of June. If this trend continues then the BNB will lose its potential and investors. BNB was one of my favorite tokens which have crashed terribly, what do you think will be the future of this token?

I am very disappointed most times when people utter this kind of statement not towards you perhaps the statement itself. Price fluctuation is a normal phenomenon here in cryptocurrency. Every projects or coins on the market has experience this. So why do we raise alarm when it happens? Atomic wallet coin is a BEP2 token has done very well since listed and now price is down but triggers up few days ago and has been cool. the coin keep up because of the good team behind it which should be the concern. The use case is seen in the non-custodian Atomic Wallet with functionalities that wows. More info on https://atomicwallet.io
There are other coins like that as well.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Staking WAR has begun, who is wining it? on: December 28, 2019, 06:57:47 AM
Staking your coins on exchanges could be disastrous and cost you lifetime broke with the prevailing trend of exit scam and hacking. There is a wallet that offers decentralized staking - atomic wallet. You can stake your coins and push for vote for your project right inside the wallet. Its a multi-functional non-custodian wallet.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Day Trading or Long-term Hodl? on: December 28, 2019, 06:49:01 AM
I am a fan of day trading but though I have some altcoins I bought and hold for long till date because of the love but naturally I am a full day trader, to me I feel it's what works best for you. I do not hodl for long unless there something special about the project.
We're opposite. I'm a long term holder and day trading doesn't suit me.
I'm getting more losses if I try to day trade so it got me thinking how much you're earning everyday with day trading?
Are you full time?
Care to tell how much you earn on average daily?
every human being has their own expertise, to be honest I also don't really like the daily trade because it requires a very complicated analysis. but under certain conditions I also do daily trading to fulfill my daily needs.

From the statement, you're an expert trader. I wish i am one. it saddens me cos i don't have the required expertise to day-trade so I hodl long.

Long term holding will help us to increase the demand for the coins, for long term we should choose them wisely because now there are many POS-based coins which have ability to increase the coins by staking them in the wallets. Short term trading is really very risky, which sometimes we need to wait patiently for the prices recover.

So, I suppose hodling for long is the best option.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Day Trading or Long-term Hodl? on: December 28, 2019, 06:45:16 AM
Before now, I have always been getting it wrong about cryptocurrency. A friend recently opened my eyes to see how I could have increase little coins I have to fortune overtime by day-trading. But I am no that type. I had always thought I could only make fortune in crypto by hodling a certain coin for long.

13 months ago, I bought SNTR worth about $100 hoping that in few months I'll wallow in milliions of dollars like Ian Balina , but the reverse is often the case in the subsequent ones I bought. Sad fact, $100 worth of SNTR 13 months ago now less than $2.

Recently, I watched several videos of how to analyse a coin or token to invest in, gained some good knowledge of the basics. I discovered day-trading tokens like DX token and Atomic wallet (AWC) could have actually make me what I hope to be If i had the right information. But its never too late. Yet, I am drowned in mentality that hodling for long can only be the fortune I hope for. Reason I need help.
Well you need to try and see for yourself to know which one will suit you but i can bet with you that you would find day trading as a good way to make profit, you can end up losing every thing as well, i invest in crypto for long time and find other ways to sustain myself like real life jobs

Thank you for the suggestion. Cool.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: December 28, 2019, 06:41:52 AM
Because there will always be a looser.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google banned ETH wallet and metamask android client on Playstore on: December 28, 2019, 06:40:01 AM
Oops, I do think that Google has every reason to take such decision since it is based on Google's financial policy and not security issue. There are tons of other wallets to get dirty with but I would recommend switching to atomic wallet if anyone looking to download one. Perhaps, atomicwallet is a multi-asset non-custodian wallet serving many purpose and offering decentralized staking service, among others is the decentralized exchanged via atomic wallet functionality. Search through Google Play store for it or take a trip to https://atomicwallet.io
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are smart as well. on: December 28, 2019, 06:29:45 AM
hahah hilariously speaking.
I won't agree less with this. Scammers are clever but cunning and we will always watch out for them. I would never have believed that such a project as Spectrumnetwork could be fake. I placed all my hope on that freaking thing and it was shattered. Nevertheless, I learned my lesson so hard. Several other projects I have seen built real world use case product such as atomic wallet team (built a non-custodian wallet on atomicwallet.io), Aergo team, morpheuslabs and many of them.
Can't fall a victim again.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the best coin to buy apart from bitcoin on: December 22, 2019, 04:10:57 PM
Its good to buy Ethereum now because price of this are cheap now, Especially now that many rumors said price of this will increase again in 2020 when bitcoin bull run come.  Actually im hoding ethereum because i believe erhereum will recover again next year.

Nice. I buy that idea.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Staking WAR has begun, who is wining it? on: December 22, 2019, 03:45:14 PM
Binance all the way. But do you know you can stake your coins on atomic wallet since it supports decentralized staking.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce crypto currency to newbies on: December 22, 2019, 03:41:56 PM
Firstly, don't give them the impressions that they will start making fortune overnight. This is because most people want to come and just start to make millions of bucks and when it  turns out to be otherwise, they get disappointed.

2. Introduce them to decentralized wallets like atomic wallet https://atomicwallet.io where they can keep coins or tokens they'll be getting from airdrop. Ask them to download and master the use. It is very easy for newbies to use non-custodian wallet compared to using exchanges.

3. Introduce them to airdrops. That is a good way to begin ceteris paribus.
