21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS: SATOSHI FINALLY REVEALED! on: May 05, 2016, 07:55:26 PM
He probably believes he's Satoshi.  Delusional.  The guy is facing a huge tax scam problem in Australia.  If he had Satoshi's money, he would have used it to stay out of trouble.  He's repeatedly done scammy things to make himself look like Satoshi.  He wants to feel important and have people respect him for making Bitcoin, because his real life is a failure and a con.

I think the real Satoshi, whoever he is, lost the keys to all those coins.  Rather than admit it, he just stays silent.  He doesn't want the world calling him an idiot for the rest of his life.

He makes a big song and dance about being a doctor with his Dr Craig Wright website, but his doctorate is in theology not cryptography.

Theology is usually studied by priests before they get ordained, not by computer scientists.

He's over 45 now and claims he's submitted his thesis for a second doctorate in computer science. If the real Satoshi was awarded a doctorate I would expect it to be in computer science or cryptography, and have been awarded before he invented Bitcoin.

Joseph Vaughnperling not giving up:

Quote
I also have a message for Dr. Wright from the trustee of the Tulip trust that is controlling the coins that he wants to move. Not yet announced:

Quote
“The Tulip Trading Trust trustee, appointed by Dave Kleiman as of Oct 12nd 2012. It has been rumored that Craig Wright will need to access Tulip Trading Trust assets. Trustee acts in the interest of the beneficiary alone and must defend against undue influence by others. In order to authorize movements of trust assets the beneficiary must come forward and make a direct request of the trustee our way–NOT via 3rd party nor any intermediaries. Any coin movement affecting the trust asset without prior authorization will be considered a trust violation and invalid irrespective of any claim of constructive bailment. The Trust alone has control over its assets. Tampering or manipulating with trust assets by anyone (including the beneficiary) might have material legal and tax implications. Beneficiaries are invited to a conference call 12:00 UTC Friday to discuss interests. Principals only.”

There is not a shred of proof to back up any of that story. The guy in the cowboy hat who told it says "trust me" as his only proof. He talks vaguely about third parties who he refuses to name, vague dates he refuses to be specific about, and vague future events that he refuses to be pinned down on.

Quote
AVW: No offense, but: Why should I trust any of this? Why should I trust anything you say?

JVP: Do your own research. Keep on your quest for knowledge. When you find someone who can teach you, listen carefully. When you find someone that can learn from you, be kind.

AVW: You're skilled at avoiding questions through what sounds like ancient wisdoms.

JVP: You are a reporter, the ancient wisdom is multiple sources, so ... do your own research …

I was hodling no matter what happened to the price, then Gavin announced Craig Wright had proved he is Satoshi. I panic dumped right at the bottom, then had to buy back after it became clear it was all bull. I'd never have panic dumped if it wasn't for all the Satoshi lies.

Seriously, what was your rationale for dumping?

Come on, if Satoshi really was Craig Wright it would have started a dump down to the pits of hell. You could see it starting, then stopping when people started to digest all the information and realise there was no proof.

On Monday evening, I suggested to Wright's PR firm that if he could send me a fraction of a coin from an early Bitcoin block - which of course I would return - that might show he had Satoshi's keys. But Wright's team came up with a different plan on Wednesday afternoon.

They sent me a draft blog in which he outlined a scheme that would see Matonis, Andresen and the BBC all send small amounts of Bitcoin to the address used in the first ever transaction. Then he would send it back, in what would be the first outgoing transactions from the block since January 2009.

We went ahead with our payments - I sent 0.017BTC (about £5), which you can still see in the online records. Matonis and Andresen sent similar amounts.

Then we waited. And waited. Then my phone rang - with the news that the whole operation was "on hold", with no reason given.

Eighteen hours later we are still waiting for the payments to be made - and now Wright's new blog says that is not going to happen.

 Cry Cry Cry

Matonis, Andresen and the BBC deserve to get scammed out of 0.017 BTC each for giving credence to this big lie. At least it's cost them £5 each. Why didn't they demand he signs a message properly on this forum or tell him to get lost?

Gavin's big dial with the shit-eating grin on front of r/bitcoin again ... dump incoming.

edit: notice how he releases these controversial posts at critical timings for technical price breakouts ... or coincidence?

What has he controversially posted? I don't read r/bitcoin and I can't face wading through page after page to find his post. Is it another post about the block size combined with another alternate Bitcoin wallet? The last thing I heard about Gavin was he climbed down to suggesting going for 2MB blocks.

I see what you mean about Gavin releasing controversial posts at critical timings for technical price breakouts with a shit-eating grin. He cost me a packet by backing up Craig Wright, I would never have believed Craig Wright except for with Gavin's back up. That's the last faith I had in Gavin gone.

how exactly did gavin backing craig cost you a packet?

I bet Craig Wright gets arrested and extradited back to Australia soon to face charges for the tax scam he pulled off there. If he can't prove he's Satoshi thet are going to get him, and he can't prove he's Satoshi because he's not.

I can sign a message. I'm looking for one that I publicly posted when dealing with stuff on here..give me a minute and I'll reply to this thread.

Update:
Ok in this post I helped someone with an Antminer problem (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=293269.5)
I asked for tips (lol) with address 18ZU96h1ErviqwLKhgh4L8rGcEzRdZuwMm

Update 2: added the message that was signed  Roll Eyes
I will now sign a message with that. "I am the real BigJon901."

Message Verified. I suggest that next time you link to a post you archive it in case the current account holder edits it.

There is also a thread in meta for staking your Bitcoin address.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0

You stake it there and other people quote your post for you so if a hacker deletes your post the quote's still there to prove that's your address. The moderators don't mind you posting your address there, but it's now banned everywhere else apart from in games and rounds.

Rpietila has a castle where he will tell you about the jews and the New World Order.

That sounds fun. I like stories. I hope he'll tuck me in at night too. But does that follow the correct party line? I don't want to be reeducated twice. I'm getting old and I'm keen to serve.

You're to be reeducated, not sleep. I'm not sure what party line he follows but he's the right brand of crazy. And when it comes down to it, that's all you really need.

Reeducation (brainwashing) requires three ingredients, extreme sleep deprivation, hypnosis, and drugs. Gentlemand will need months without sleep before he follows the right brand of crazy. If he's lucky he may be permitted an hour and a half sleep each day, but the hypnotism won't stop while he sleeps.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europol Finds No Evidence Linking Bitcoin To ISIS on: January 29, 2016, 01:48:10 PM
ISIS probably gets funded through the hawala system where money gets transferred through a trust based international network of people. If someone gives a broker money in one country an ISIS member could be paid by another broker in a different country. It's all base on cash and trusting people, so it's harder to trace transactions than using Bitcoin.
32  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of Japan institutes negative interest rates on: January 29, 2016, 12:34:46 PM
Does this also count for general people or only for large instututions and corporations?

I don't think it is wise to charge people for having some reserves for harsh times, you may see a lot of people run into trouble if they do unwise investments in the future.

It doesn't count for general people. Only commercial banks will be affected by getting charged -0.1% by the central bank for some deposits, ordinary people won't be charged anything to make deposits. Its not a new thing, its already been done before by Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and the European Central Bank.
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Poll]Will BTC Rates go Below 400$ this January 2016 ? on: January 16, 2016, 05:58:26 PM
I voted yes, with the minority and as usual, it was the minority that was right, which means the majority here are chumps.

Ironically there were people saying your calls were the perfect reverse indicator of what would really happen. They called it the MatTheCat reverse indicator. They would have lost if they read your call that it would crash below $400 and bet on the price doing the opposite. What do you think the price will do now?
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Poll]Will BTC Rates go Below 400$ this January 2016 ? on: January 16, 2016, 05:52:27 PM
I don't rule out going below $400 because it dipped below $410 on December 26. That's just over a week ago, and it was less than $10 short of going below £400. It's still too close to $400 to dismiss the possibility of going below it. If it goes to the high 400s then it might be safe to assume it won't go back down.

Well its gone below $400, but it took a week and a half since that post to do it. It almost touched $350 on Bitstamp today and I can't predict where it will go next. Is it possible it could go below $300 this January with all the Hearn and Cryptsy publicity? The Cryptsy hacker still hasn't dumped his coins, and when they move from the addresses he sent them to it could make people panic.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll to determine most popular ways to use bitcoin cold storage on: January 04, 2016, 07:04:53 PM
I cant vote for any off those because i use a paper wallet, id be confident to say that a good amount of people are also only using paper wallets rather than hardware, might be worth editing the poll to add it if you can.

Same here, if there was a paper wallet option added to the poll it would probably be the most popular choice. Why should I pay for a hardware device that could conceivably break when I can use a piece of paper? If I put any electronic device in a drawer for a few years I never expect it to work when I start it up. Sometimes a device still works, but I never rely on it.
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Please no more dumb "why is it rising" questions on: December 12, 2015, 03:16:34 PM
80% of bit coin movement comes from the chart and fractals, which runs on top of a steadily increasing adoption.  It's the noobs from wall street who think that every little micro movement has to be based on some media event,  like they're running a company.  It's how they think.

Hey welcome back tera.
Did aliens kidnapped you the last 1+ year? Tongue
What do you think will happen till the next halving?
Btc trading was completely consuming my mind and I had to put it on hold to get my life back together.  I literally didn't check a single chart,  price quote,  news article,  or forum post in 18 months.  My coins are still in cold storage (what is left of them).

I can't make a firm prediction about prices.  The chart would lead one to believe there will we one or two more consolidation periods like 2012.

I know that feeling. I had almost no sleep last night while I was waiting for the right moments to dump, then for opportunities to buy back. There's only so many nights without sleep you can take before it starts to make you physically ill. Trading takes over your life, and the stress of it could probably lead to a heart attack in the long term.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 04, 2015, 03:21:00 PM
Thread very silent, best time to look for opportunity.

On Finex there seems to be a battle over 360$: it looks more like pong. Sorry man, I see no opportunities right now but, perhaps, I'm blind.   Cool

Got it now ?

why do people long right at the trend line? It has not been broken yet... You can still buy a long when broke the trendline..

It would take roughly 90 Bitcoins dumped on Stamp to get the price back to 360, where it was less than an hour ago. There's a 400 Bitcoin wall stopping it going above 364, and a 400 Bitcoin wall stopping it going below 360, so the price will probably start ping ponging backwards and forwards in a tight range.

Those walls have to be broken before we know where it's going.

40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anyone ever predicted bitcoin price 100% of the times? on: November 15, 2015, 01:17:34 PM
There was a guy who seemed to move the price upward every time he bought some bitcoins.

The only people who correctly predicted were bears like fallllliiiiing and others.

I tend to swing from bearism to bullism, and vice versa, in accordance with market sentiment, and I'm generally in the right ballpark. Currently, as glow from the recent price run-up fades, we are entering a bear market. Fasten your seatbelt, we are going to go down.

I don't remember anyone, including fallllliiiiing, predicting the price a few times in a row. Fallllliiiiing merely said the price would continue to fall until it hit zero, with a few dead cat bounces. It hasn't fallen to zero yet, and it hasn't fallen below $150 yet. What fallllliiiiing never did was predict the lowest the price would fall to before a dead cat bounce, and the highest each dead cat bounce would rise to.
