Bro, it's pretty tense...

Understood and duly noted.

I'm right now doing through the legal side of this with Garr and am in dialogue with anyone who PM's me. It appears CM shareholders are utmost reasonable people when engaged in private conversation.

To all those frustrated by this turn of events: if you have any questions or better yet alternative courses of action, feel free to contact me. Constructive comments are highly appreciated and will receive all the personal attention they deserve. Trolls are not fed.

Nice to know you consider your shareholders discussion the equivalent of feces, great way to insult and start a open and honest relationshiop.

Apologies if that came off insulting. That is not my intention in the slightest. Garr simply wanted me to take care of the logistics, I assumed he took care of any other loose ends. In this statement I was referring retroactively to the thread. I was not aware the situation was so tense.

I fully understand that this is a very emotional debate. Please be advised that I am entirely willing to communicate with anyone to resolve this situation. I would however again urge everyone to remain rational. Threats make this situation worse for everyone involved.

If anyone can give me a full recap on the past months from a shareholder perspective, please PM me.

@Elasticband, my email is in your PM box

Also, who the hell is Mentor Palokaj.

Hello Everyone,

That would be me.

A little clarification from my end:

I have not been involved in any way whatsoever with the Cognitive Mining project. This morning ( CEST ) I figured I'd check if anyone had any questions about the liquidation on btctalk, and did not expect this storm of feces.

It is by no means my (and as far as I know Garr's) intention to skirt any laws or cheat anyone. If this is under debate I understand and will accept any questions.

Please do however respect some common courtesy, if you contact me please do not hide behind an anonymous email address.

Cheers,

Mentor

Any idea why the price dropped to around .07?

It didn't. Havelock has technical issues... I assume this database is an old backup.

It didn't work.

Oh but it did, there is guillable people who sold @0.06 or so :p. Again, wish I had more coins lying around, panicking people are wonderful for buying prices.

And who said that I don't Believe in this operation?

Not questioning that, just general advice Smiley
29  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 220 TH/s on: February 14, 2014, 11:53:25 AM
I did try to bring the share price a little down to be able to buy more and I've just got burned, I wont play this way anymore, now I am just comfortable with my current position.

anyone trying to get a share just buy it for the market value don't try to manipulate the price or you will just get burned...

Just stop investing with graphs and tricks, invest based in the company based on belief in their strategy.

Ps. That was you? Made me feel really bad for buying some more @ 0.8 :p
30  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 220 TH/s on: February 14, 2014, 09:15:32 AM
Share price is now a hair shy of 0.10

I'm having such mixed feelings. Yesterday afternoon I wanted to put in an extra couple of BTC, forgot to do it (busy day) and now the price soared up. On the one hand YAY profit, on the other hand dammit no more shares.

you dont just sit on asic chips/miners and wait for the rest before deployment. you get hashing as soon as you get them in your hands. difficulty rises and roi gets further and further away otherwise.
id imagine the guys are getting the data center ready for equipment to begin hashing immediately upon delivery of mining equipment. seems pointless to be doing otherwise

Indeed. Have requested a little update via email. I assume their radiosilence is simply being busy rather than neglect. The experiences I've had with them so far are overwhelmingly positive.

We are especially interested in the following types of business partners:

1. Large mining operation owners who can also do massive PCB production of their own.

Cryptx, the next move is yours.

Mailed them about it. Looks pretty sweet to me.
34  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] VPN Business (BlueVPN) || 800 users || Selling the vpn business itself on: January 15, 2014, 09:55:58 AM
Hey Bitcoiners,

A while back I started BlueVPN as a project. Now I don't have enough time to grow it into something big/profitable so it's just a mildly profitable project. My original plan was to sell it on flippa.com, but would first like to offer it to the Bitcoin community.

Proof of ownership in the footer of the BlueVPN website.

------------- Info page (made for flippa) -----------------

Video's: Please watch these first

Explanation of what BlueVPN is, what it does, and why it is unique ( 2:27 Minutes )

How did it start, what is it now, and what can it become ( 7:40 minutes )

The short version

This VPN provider was started out of technical curiosity. It grew past the concept stage into a business nearly on its own.

The main unique selling point is the fact that free users have to share a facebook/twitter message (twitter history) to get an account, and are requested to do this monthly (through an automated email). This viral aspect made it grow so quickly without very active marketing.

Low financial ($10/month) and technical maintenance
Selling because of lack of time and marketing skills
Not just a website but a full business

The long version

Intro: What BlueVPN does

A VPN is a service that allows a user to reroute all of their internet traffic through the VPN providers server. This is used for:

* Internet traffic encryption (privacy protection)
* Internet usage hiding (prying eyes can't see what a user does on the web)
* Unblocking of websites (for example Facebook in China or Netflix in Europe)
* BlueVPN offers free and paid VPN services. The free service requires monthly social media posts. Click here to see the free viral marketing this created.

Why BlueVPN is unique

* It requires free users to share social media messages on a monthly basis (see twitter search for #BlueVPN)
* It uses the highest available encryption and offers those below
* Is sends the users plug&play software in the activation email
* It is compatible with all devices, including mobile
* Is accepts Bitcoin and appeals to the Bitcoin community. We have has a deal on Coinforest for example and have been featured in Bitcoinmagazine

Advantages from a business aspect

* The website is translated in 3 languages (English, Dutch, French)
* The social media activation and re-activation generates free marketing (the twitter history is public, but facebook has no global search function I can show you. The numbers should be similar though)
* The maintenance costs are very low at $10/month for Tier-1 bandwidth servers in Amsterdam and New York.
* Both the website and administrative system are easy to use.

Technical aspects

The website (the visual presentation, not the VPN system or administration). Runs on Wordpress.

The administration software is WHMCS (a lifetime license), this also handles the automatic user creations, payment, billing, support tickets and administration.

The servers are two VPS dropplets at Digitalocean. They are configured to work with WHMCS through a plugin from a British software engineer who offers prompt and polite service.

The VPN connections support:

* OpenVPN (most secure, with software sent in initial email)
* L2TP (second most secure, most systems like Windows, Mac, Android and iOS have this compatibility built in, but is takes a while to configure)
* PPTP (old protocol but works with older systems and some old mobile devices)

Marketing:

This was a project that started for fun, when it took off so smoothly I decided to do some marketing, but never really did that much for it. Most of this was done through on whims and through connections.

* Some Adwords (about $1 a day for a while)
* Some Facebook advertisement (quit after $100)
* Bitcoin magazine advert
* Financial aspects: assets

As mentioned before this project was started out of curiosity. It was started on a budget as low as possible. Below are the initial components (raw materials if you will).

Initial creation:

Hosting + domain
WHMCS lifetime license
WHMCS VPN system
Wordpress theme
Manhours: Webdesign, system setup, translations, video

Marketing (very superficial, more like playing around):

Adwords: $430
Facebook ads: $140
Bitcoin magazine ad: $154
Running cost:

$10 / month

Financial aspects: revenue

The revenues are based off of purchases made in USD and in Bitcoins at today's value. Most profit has been made off of Bitcoin purchases and the deal we made with Coinforest.

Total income so far in USD: $2287

Why sell?

This project was started out of a dissatisfaction with current VPN providers. None of the used the freemium model and all restricted use in some way (or were just very expensive).

This was a fun project to build, and it has generated some income for me. Between other projects I however do not have enough time and mental energy to market this product (which is not my strong suit anyway).

It is my wish that someone with the right skills comes along and unlocks the potential of BlueVPN. Even with my limited 'marketing' it has reached almost 800 users and continues to generate many more.

In addition my skills on sales and conversion of free customers to paid users is low. For someone with better marketing skills BlueVPN is the perfect opportunity to run a low-maintenance business.

What you will get

* Ownership over everything

My only criterium is that all links to my accounts (like my paypal and Bitpay) are replaced by yours. I will work with you to tie up all loose ends, but I do want all of them tied up to prevent future consusion.

* The contacts of those who worked with BlueVPN so far
* For example the guys and girls at Bitcoin magazine and Coinforest.

My support for the months after the sale

I'm not going to drop off of the face of the earth. If you have any questions or need help with any of the technology I will do what I can to help you on your way. I'm not going to be your developer though, I'll do basic stuff but for big changes I'll just point you in the right direction or to the right people.

Questions?

As you may have noticed I am entirely open about any and all details regarding the project. Feel free to ask away.

Note: I'm not trying to get rich, just to sell at a decent price. Any offer is appreciated.

EDIT: Hyperlink syntax fixed

37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Registered to sell my business (accepting Bitcoin) - Help? Opinion? on: January 14, 2014, 10:46:41 AM
there you'll find a whole bunch of webhosts and VPNs doing the exact same thing you're doing.

Thanks for the response Lethn. Little miscommunication though, I'm not wanting to sell VPN's. I'm looking to sell the whole business. As in selling BueVPN itself, not getting new customers.
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Registered to sell my business (accepting Bitcoin) - Help? Opinion? on: January 14, 2014, 08:25:03 AM
Hey guys,

I've been lurking around Bitcointalk accountless for a while now, and only now registered. The fact is that I'm selling one of my projects (BlueVPN). The initial plan was to sell it for fiat, but since it accepts Bitcoin and I love all things btc I figured I prefer a Bitcoiner taking over the project.

Anyhow, to prevent tripping over regulations and community standards, here's a little call for help. Anyone with tips is welcome. Specifically I'm wondering:

* Do you even think it is a good idea to do this on Bitcointalk?
* What is the best sub board? Goods or auction? Something else?
* Any logistical tips on selling things at Bitcointalk?

Thanks guys,

~ Mentor
