21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What you know about CKB?? on: September 16, 2019, 12:52:40 PM
Why is there such a high hash rate on testnet?
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First GPU Mining Rig on: September 11, 2019, 12:31:12 PM

the power consumption is really very high
all rx580 cards can be undervolt to get 30 mhs for 75 to 80w per card
try reducing core and core voltage
it will reduce the power a lot
less power consumption lower temps

The RX580 won't get 80Watts @ 30MH/s. The absolute best would maybe be about 120 Watts. When you measure power consumption you need to actually use a watt meter and not the figure that you see in GPU-z. That figure refers to the GPU wattage consumption and doesn't include the consumption used by the memory controller and other parts of the GPU.

I think the best figure I ever got was like 120 Watts @ 27.5 MH/s and this was with the highest ASIC quality GPU i had. Going any lower wasn't possible because it got freezing issues.

So if you got a 6 GPU rig then what you should expect is about ~750 Watts about 120Watts per GPU and 30 Watts or so for the memory, CPU, motherboard, etc.

You can achieve 30MH/s with around 85 watts per RX 580 GPU. Can tone it down further with fine tuning OC.

Anyone got their money back with this scam?
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The best rig operating system. ethOS vs. Windows vs. Linux vs. MS-DOS? on: August 23, 2019, 11:29:59 AM
I have tried Ubuntu, Windows and Hive.

I have had issues with Ubuntu drivers so I tried Hive. Hive is good but because of my setup, mix between AMD and Nvidia on one rig, this didnt work out well.

I am currently on Windows and don't have any problems. So my choice is Windows. Smiley

Hope this helps.

I have mixed rigs and they running perfectly fine on Hive. To add to it, you have to be patient to setup the mix rig with right config for you cards. Took me few days to tweak it to optimal performance but it`s stable a F... now

Anyone mind sharing their bat file for new BeamV2 config. NH preferably.

I think we all waiting patiently for dev to create miner compatible with new architecture.

Glad to see this coin fket out. I queried this project since day one and the dev behavior was very questionable. I was kicked from the social channels just by questioning the behavior I just sold and cut my losses.

never trust this dev.

Detailed changelog here

Hi, A cool new feature like seeing clock and mem speed on the GPU page would be greatly appreciated.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with NiceHash vs Etherium only with Claymore Dual 14.7 on: July 24, 2019, 08:44:28 AM
I actually performed a 24 hour test during the week.
I selected a few of my rigs to telly up to 1Ghs and threw them on Ethermine for 24 hour period.
Switched them back to Nicehash for day with seperate account to do comparison and NH was more profitable.
Around 10 -15% actually. (Old NH platform)

I have yet find a more profitable way to earn by mining. Except when there newby coins you mine and pray they have decent resell when listed. Around 5% of them are actually lucrative when listed.

Sorry, I didnt get time to read through whole blog. Is there a way to mine only with nvidia cards on mixed rig? parameter perhaps?

Pity for the guys who paid $ for a product that has no traction and no working product.

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBPolaris V3.5 - BIOS editor for AMD RX4XX and RX5XX cards on: June 20, 2019, 11:29:59 AM
Does anyone have an original Bios (or any bios) for an XFX RX 570 8gb RS Black Hynix memory? I am having issues with this card.

You not the only one, I have drawer with around 22 of the RX 580 models stuffed completely. Same memory chips as other brands I own but they just died...

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wifi vs wired internet for the rig on: May 29, 2019, 01:12:45 PM
My current rigs are all using wired connection through wifi adapter. I am planning to move to use usb wifi adapter. The reason is to make rig more compact. Any suggestions from the community. My worry is that wifi connection may not be good due to proximity of GPUs. Any recommendation for the USB wifi adapter would be appreciated. Thank you.

My farm consist of 10x 12GPU rigs. I started off with Wifi usb adaptors but as the farm grew I started having endless problems with it. When the rigs are in idle state the network was fine but as soon it`s start mining I had latency, signal drop and re-connection problems all round. I didn't even use 1mbps combined on the wifi. I guess firing up the GPU`s have some kind of impact on interference (even mounted on the roof for better line of sight)

I do however have one or two test rigs running on dongles but I dont monitor them 24/7 to check if there any disconnects.

I recommend for stability stick with wire.

If you are going to use WiFi in a mining farm then you are surely  gonna have connection problems as all load is on single router.

Was a dual band, load balanced decent $300 router so was around 5 rigs per channel. After I wired all of the rigs it was smooth sailing from there. I recommend wired, it takes time and effort if you want to do it properly but results = stable network
