21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HUB] Hubii Network - A Blockchain-based Decentralised Content Marketplace on: July 10, 2018, 05:35:10 AM
I'm with ninobtc on this. Sergey you can't argue that partners and content creators will be impressed with a coin which has a bid-ask spread of 30% and extremely low daily trading volumes.
That's unappealing to everyone, not just your average bitconnect redditor investor. That's why the price is dropping even though this coin should deserve the ethereum foundation attention.
This is a rare case of an extremely high quality product with poor self-packaging.
They have already come up with a solution to the volume, slippage, and spread problem. Literally the last 6 months have been spent with a large emphasis on their solution(Hubii Core) with Striim running in the background. Volume is mentioned in the whitepaper, I recommend you read that portion as well as the Hubii Core announcement again, it explains the situation well.

Investors in Hubii Network should be dissatisfied with the progress of the project, or even very disappointed. The inaction of the project team is not correct.
Not really sure what we should be dissatisfied at or very disappointed by, I have yet to see inaction from the team in the last 10 months. Let me see if I can list some of the things that have been accomplished.

Partnership with Grupo PRISA the world’s leading Spanish and Portuguese-language media group

Partnership with Hawk Internet a wholly-owned subsidiary of the TCL Corporation "top-10 global mobile phone manufacturer selling products in over 160 countries"

Continuing partnership with Telenor Group, one of the world’s major mobile operators, to migrate WowBox content to the decentralized marketplace

Mozilla reveals an ongoing partnership with Hubii, utilizing Hubii Mind for Bugmark.

Hubii attends International Journalism Festival to talk about the nature of media distribution and fact checking.

Hubii attends Cannes Film Festival announcing Hubii Film and the first project that will utilize it.

They do a lot of work indeed; but I think the coin will stay low in price until there's volumes on the exchanges (artificial or real, nobody cares)

That's a fair assumption, the price doesn't affect the progress of project development that the team is working on. But if you make the assumption that volume is what is limiting the price then you're in luck because the marketplace will demand volume, low slippage, and low spread so the team will implement a solution for it (Hubii Core) which would by that theory inflate the price.

However they don't seem to get that low volumes and low market capitalization equates to Shitcoin, and unless they want hbt to remain perceived as such they really need to get it on an exchange which will move the volumes.
It is a unfair that such a good project with actual work on it, is deemed as shitcoin, hence I hope they will consider making an agreement with an exchange to ensure volumes (without telling that of course).
Yeah, that might be the case in the community, everyone's perceptions are different. But at the same time I'd rather them focus on how content creators, partners, and real businesses perceive the project rather than a big community filled with uninformed people, with thousands of projects being full of nothing but hot air. So yeah, the same people who invested in Bitconnect for 8 months and donated 6,553,200.75 Ethereum to EOS might be the ones who think badly of a project for a lack of volume, at a stage where volume isn't yet needed, but we as the informed public are different. Not to mention the businesses who are very interested and think highly of the work the team has done over the last 10 months.

Also to add on, the upcoming exchange will increase the volume, decrease slippage, and decrease spread to the point where transactions are fast enough for the content platform to function flawlessly.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum is clogged up this past few days? on: July 09, 2018, 09:02:49 PM
Because there is a genius over at FCoin that thought it would be a good idea to incentivize spamming the Ethereum blockchain with useless transactions of 1 token per vote.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano (ADA) and Goodle discuss the possibility of becoming partners on: July 09, 2018, 05:26:58 PM
That's some Grade A+ mental gymnastics, I would probably avoid that degree of extrapolation if I were you.

Let's see if I can do it too

--Ethereum partnered with Google? Who knows, but all of the evidence must suggest it
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POW can be replaced in the future on: July 09, 2018, 05:18:52 PM
PoW isn't inherently that inefficient, it's simply a sybil protection measure. The consensus algorithm is usually what will determine efficiency so while some algorithms are inefficient others are not. Some consensus algorithms work for both PoW and PoS. But the answer isn't as clear cut as that, it's unlikely that we will see PoW die off anytime soon, though it may not be as prominent for new chains.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the King of ICO, Do you agree? on: July 09, 2018, 05:00:56 AM
If Bitcoin is king of cryprocurrency, then Ethereum is the king of all ICOs ,do you agree?  Stella, neo and no other blockchain has hosted ICO than Ethereum.
better said that Ethereum is the king of SCAMMERS since most of that damn Ico is just here to scam and nothing others in concern, now i will ask you "do you agree on me"?

This platform has been used for so many scamming issues here in cryptocurrency and sad to say i use to be a ethereum fanatic until I realized about this and sold all my coins then converted to bitcoins
That has nothing to do with Ethereum, it's not like Ethereum is sponsoring scams. People need to be careful who they donate their hard earned money to.

Yes, so far, one can agree with this statement, since more than 91 percent of all ICOs are conducted on the ethereum platform. However, in the future, I think, for ICO will be used a variety of platforms, not just the predominantly ethereum. Apparently, the EOS platform will also be used very soon. It is even possible that after a certain time it will be used even much more than ethereum.

That's certainly possible, though I'm not sure why anyone would want to host their project on a centralized base layer. They have been quite disappointing for a project which raised and dumped 6,553,200.75 Ethereum.

If instead of paying floyd centra mayweather they paid listing in a centralized exchange with proper volumes (as every respectable coin would do), price would be much higher.
So far Mark said it's unethical and illegal whereas Jacobo is more ambiguous, saying paying for listing on a good exchange might happen or not.

Anyway not being on a proper exchange is the reason why the price is low. Hence..
Mayweather didn't receive any ICO funds or tokens, the biggest problem in this community is that centralized exchanges are seen as the gatekeepers of value, it's a pathetic attitude and needs to change. The donators during the ICO funded the project, and listing on a centralized exchange is not in the whitepaper and adds absolutely no value, the team came up with their own way to generate liquidity with low spread and slippage and their solution will be implemented soon.

Is the Hubii Network project team still doing things? For so long, the exchanges are not on the market, and the products are not landing. It is very disappointing.

They've made a few updates to the wallet, a bit ago to accept hard wallets. And most of the effort has been spent on striim which you can go over on the GitHub, so products are definitely being released. Exchanges aren't a product, and are not on Hubii's control, unless you mean the Hubii Core exchange which shouldn't be too far out.
