byteball wtf? seriously i expected waves beeing on top in this survey, is someone scamming us with this?

i mean byte my balls is a bad omen name for that token, is this a joke?

Not that Waves don't deserve to be "up-there", you know.

But feeling scamed because Byteball (the Platform original intended to be called snowball) with its main unit Bytes managed to mobilise 69 (Oh No another Omen) people to Vote after others and I wrote our soul out on its behalf is kind of weak.
Not that most of the planet shares your english language capable association to the platforms Name... But since I do, too, I have to ask if you have the balls to even write half a page on why Waves are THE OBVIOUS THING for 2018.  Wink
Alternativly you just take a link to your reddit and have the vote fixed - so the scam can end.

Anyhow first to redeem this link gets a free Byteball Megabyte. Just to demonstrate the new textcoin feature.

Here is your link to receive 0,001 GB: https://byteball.org/openapp.html#textcoin?battle-you-menu-science-connect-holiday-item-chase-club-cigar-desert-bus

what is advantages of DAG file ??

Scaling and fast as hell (30sek, sometimes faster). Storage only limited by the transaction fee you are willing to pay. That is the main point about DAG in general.

When it comes to its various implementation you get also various other features that would created long lists. Also mining is NOT necessary. That alone makes it sustainable. Bitcoin mining is a environmental crime on the scale of double digit percent of national chinese electricity output used/wasted. Some news-outlets quote 250kwatt/h per single transaction which is what I use per week of living.

Some say it is the future. Other know it exists already.

What happened to Slack channel? I see this for about 2 weeks now:

If I do it on a Desktop Browser I get the same.
Slack is fine and very busy. Never noticed it is down for others since I usw the android app exclusively

EDIT: message from Admin:
@saintflow I can only say that a new slack inviter page is in the works, please be patient.

So Anton "#tonchy" Churyumoff of Byteball keept word. Sending Byteball over email is possible . Except he overdid it in all the best way!

He released it as Byteball 2.0 with "textcoin" feature . https://medium.com/byteball/sending-cryptocurrency-to-email-5c9bce22b8a9

In the linked text you will find this gem:

When the sender is on a mobile phone and switches to “Share via message” tab (see the screenshot above), he is  able to use all the options available through the phone’s standard “Share” menu: text message, Telegram, WhatsApp, WeChat, Signal, Viber, Slack, Facebook Messenger, Skype, etc. The recipient receives the same link, but through a chat app.

Sorry, I got a bit excited there

End of session?

Next Byteball release will bring transfer via E-Mail....

Anyway thanks to Cryptokitty we now no again that Ethereum will not scale. Should have implemented a DAG?

My old account in here is worthless for your project because I do not have twitter (something something privacy). Good luck.

Yesterday someone from the Japanese Byteball community mentioned that
www.belgianbeer.tokyo has started to accept Byteball. However they also take BTC, NEM, Monacoin and cannot be used as a shinning example of merchant adoption. Yet it IS merchant adoption non the less.

Should Byteball really be skipping lower and lower in the Coinmarketcap ranks? I have seen it as high as Position 23. Currently it is 61. My disbelieve is real.

Edit Addendum: User Byteballington is also known for having added Byteball as a option in Wordpress merchant Software.

Perhaps there is one more point I can drive home about Byteballs design. It took me a while to see it and it is actually very fundamental. It is a point about Bitcoins relation to its mining pools: Bitcoin is as centralized as the central organizing/coordinating device of a mining pool.

Saying Byteball is centralized because of the witnesses is a doubtfull argument because:
A Bitcoin mining pool with 51% is the chain. Thats why they need to have several for decentralisation and it is mere social agreement that 51% is "Bad", but it certainly is centralisation. A (block)chain/line is the simplest geometry to represent TIME!
A witness shows direction of the DAG (directed Acyclo "meaning not ring/round" Graph) and therefore prevents cyclical states in the graph (No time/No Progression). So do the other witnesses and inform each other that they told some of the Byteball Bytes what time it is (by posting "units"/please refer to whitepaper for technical). Knowing time prevents the double spend. It also makes transactions fast fast fast.
In a sense you do everything yourself. No pool no nothing. But your witness tells you WHEN! you did it. So you know about NOW! Thats consensus.
Its fundamental. Its stupidly simple. Yet all Blockchains basically are a stupid linear clocks that hashes like crazy to prove you have done work and say what happend last. Because thats also how you distribute the Bitcoins and call it reward. And all you can do is walk a line and be in a chain. Thats why I call POW coins prisioners of work.

Byteballs 12 witness (the number is arbitrary and could be changed up or down within some limits) only sounds centralized. Perhaps it is not all arbitrary because we used 12 to tell time for a good portion of history. Would you really need even 12 Bitcoin Pools???

In the current state of Bitcoin you could almost stop the network by strategically taking out the mining pool coordinators of the biggest pool one after the other. In a sense Bitcoingold with its difficulty re-adjustment every block is no mear snake oil and may very well be way ahead of bitcoin ("Classic") if certain anti pool cenarios come to pass.... Likelyhood almost 0 unless someone wants to see crypto burn and goes after the pools.

I mined in a pool with a hd5830 when it still made sense and I already did point out how the Bitcoin Eco system did progress down to ASIC clusters mining lords that meet to agree and disagree on protocol changes (Segwit etc.) or forks.
For me bitcoin always was "the protocol". The mining pools were a way to contribute and recieve airdrop for the contribution. I never questioned the "why" because it was just the way it was. You have to mine and thats how you contribute and thats how you decentralise.

These 3 things:
1. decentralisation
2. distribution/Mining reward/airdrop and
3. contribution/community
where one thing.

Byteball has restructured them. Somewhat similar, somewhat radically different and somehow way more effective.

And it is by this that it is also no coincidence that the Byteball community is friendly, helpfull and not diseased with hype and buzz. A calm sense of progress is so symptomatic for Byteballs community and its organic growth. This is why so much was achieved in one year. 2018 may very well be a good year for Byteball. It takes time to be noticed by those who just have attention for the next Buzz. And why ask for attention If you can use it to grow the project?
Sorry if this implies a certain critic around the nature of this very thread  Grin It is not intended because getting 1000 votes is a worthy goal.

Let every sock puppet have a vote. Eventually we will trade fundamentals and Byteball will get over the pain of fast deployment (that Airdrop pressed on the value hard!). After all, magick internet money will be magick internet money.

...Listens to the song of the 🐋🐋 🐋 🐋 🐋 .....

iota ...

Thank you, I was beginning to question my sanity because of "their" CMC spike in the last 48 hours. I was almost about to give a shit.

Honestly though, DAG1 isn't DAG2. Just like "democracy" 1 isn't the same as "democracy" 2.

@justin b. : Best of luck. Currently you should be more than compensated. Hope you know how a prisioners dillemma works. Hope you will never need the knowledge.

Centralisation in DAGs in general is somewhat new territory. I have heared conversations that pointed out that a DAG is by definition centralized and Byteball is the most centralized project among them all.

Weirdly enough being a Byteball witness is a loosing proposition because the tiny tiny "oh god" transaction cost, a guardian against spam/floud (remember it can and will scale and so will the floud) does not yet cover your expenses. Therefore Anton Churyumoff (Byteball lead developer) still runs most of the witenesses, except 2.

And noone is applying as far as I know. Why am I not concerned? Because their are enough hubs. And turning a hub into a witness is according to one of the witnesses (@portabella) trivial. Except you expect the witnesses to be "always on"! Any one user only needs one witness

By the way, a witeness cannot change a transaction. Just
validate seniority by timestamp.

Since I do not actually expect people to google the "Byteball hair saloon" in Kyoto Japan I thought I will provide some links from Byteballs inofficial Wiki which documents the project "in real time" thanks to one tireless user called "Slackjore" who runs a Byteball Faucet in the projects slack (Just Go there and declare "jaucet" and give an address).

www.byteroll.com/cashback
Or via  wiki.byteball.org
cashback merchants

Just quickly explained: what is a cashback merchant?
Any merchant can apply for the program. If he gets accepted his customers will get 10% of their purchase price returned to them curtosy of Byteball initial distribution. If the customer pays in Byteball a 20% cashback is provided. It costs the merchants nothing but may bring him customers and can grow the Byteball userbase.

Have a look what happend in Milano Italy. It started with one restaurant and word of mouth spread. If I understand it correctly there is a small nucleus of 12 shops spreading the word. For more Information see:
https://byteball.org/milan/

Let me speak a few words on the titan-coin ICO that is Part of Byteballs platform and just finished the pre-ico successfull: the money will be used to built a titan processing factory that secures the funds collected to buy industrial equipment with the unprocessed ore they already own. This I evaluate as another real world economic impact by Byteball. Not bad for first year of comming into existance.

Parts of Byteball are still bleeding edge raw like the byteball.market (no www and no .com). Your Browser will get you to a place where with the "Asset Manager" Byteball subtokens can be made without coding in the headless wallet (Byteball Pro-tool).

Other things are not quite catching on within the community. Example: Byteball.garden (No .com) which may grow to a social Network when more persistance than slack, telegramm etc. becomes desireable. Currently it is orphaned. Byteballs reddit however is doing OK. Its just not my thing.

Having volunteered at #helpdesk in the Byteball Slack I can attest that some users do have some trouble getting started ("explaining the airdrop again") but no major bugs exist (thats why I volunteered - I needed to know!). Yes some people fuck up the Blackbytes in their wallet with restoring out of date backups (i.e. after they had send BlackBytes... and then they restore). If that happens take it to helpdesk  Grin.

Meanwhile I have seen the japanese community having Byteball maskott drawing competitions. New users with Japanese Name appear almost daily in the Slack.

I hope I have stated my point fair and straight foreward enough (See my previous post, too) why Byteball may be the next big thing and hope for feedback. If any one of the WAVES people could elaborate their point I would love to read that. PIVX is clear to me. Game credits target audiance seems to me to narrow to be world scale (don't be discouraged - fire on all engines!)
While I was writing this the ARDR post was made. How can find out more?

Who the hell voting for a Byteball?? Are you serious??
This is just a scam coin, that pumped every time before airdrop and dumped immediately after it.
Show me the person or real business who accept a Byteball every day? I can't believe this shit.

Waves are real, you can find a lot of tokens based on Waves blockchain. I voted for it.

I voted for Byteball. Get unblocked, Go mine yourself, we don't have to! Not a ICO but a community fueled p2p DAG Platform that can handle ICOs, too (example: www.titan-coin.com). For real world usage look for the (currently Micky Mouse) Buisness that accepted it like the Restaurant in Milan Italy or the Hair dresser in Japan (Google it yourself).

The no-mining DAG thing is a issue waiting to be raised! Look at the global footprint of Bitcoin in terms of energy usage. DAG scales and is fast as hell with one confirmation 100% certainty in under 30 sek. for sure. Yes Dash and Pivx are massiv, but Blockchain vs. DAG is like Public Bus vs. Private Shuttle. Got to use one to learn to love it.

Let's have a word on the airdrop and pump and dump. Because you are right, this was not clean. But I say the ones that pumped are still holding and the ones that dumped just dumped their airdrop from BTC. Thats my opinion and I expect you to call me a shill AND bagholder. I could not care less! It looks like a pump and dump curve and that is what you will see if this is all you know.

But crying I am. Crying that Byteball is deep under the radar. That people call it a scam. That they have never seen the inwallet Exchange(s!). Have not seen the fast confirmation times. Seen the inwallet chatbot(s!) and the fair lottery (inwallet), the sports betting or flight insurrance (all inwallet and p2p and implemented and working). This project is so substantial that it is a black swan among the vapour of other projects and their promises.

And I ain't even beginning to talk about the Byteball Blackbytes privacy thing that some will just call stupid because their mind is already to blown with Bitcoin and Monero to see what paradigms are not just possible but are already in use.

The great community is icebergstyle 99% not visible because it hangs out in Slack which is a major NONO for growth.

Regarding exchanges. Look at the brand new love-child made for Byteball: www.cryptochangex.com
Yes it cannot compare to the volume of bittrex but its tradeview (again you have to see it to be blown away!) is what a crypto-exchange should have looked like years ago.

I have to point out that more is in the pipeline (community development so no roadmap) and major holders of Byteball include Lisk and Iconomi (for obvious reasons).

The airdrop did hurt the price but strenghtens the community. The tech is prime. Love it, use it and word of mouth allowed me to get more of my friends to buy some than I managed to convince to buy BTC. For non Bitcoiners Byteball is actually very obviously a big step foreward.

Personally whenever I buy more Byteball from my paycheck I have to go fiat to Bitcoin, and then to Byteball. It kills me! It - Is - So - Slow - It - hurts. A crypto needs to be as fast as a WhatsApp message. Byteball, Dash and Pivx do supply. Dash is big already. Pivx can grow, so can Byteball. And IT IS DAG. Sorry this is not some thing like POW vs. POS (prisioners of Work/ rich piece of Shit).
One day you will actually read the Byteball whitepaper and might ... Just might .... See 😋😎

Yes yes to much text BUT: face it 2017 is Bitcoins year and Bitcoin has worked its ass off to get where it is now. It really deserves it and it had to withstand all sorts of SHIT to do it. Bitcoin is in such a state of group think that I cannot handle Bitcointalk most of the time. Bitcoin is currently a yoga-position bitcointalk cannot get out of. It is really stuck. 2018 is still EARLY in the crypto-age and bitcoin has already a place in history like email. A new generation is coming (Ethereum is a case in point).

While I am here I may give a historical perspective, too:
Originaly there was Bitcoin and it did CPU and that was good. Than the Botnet, GPU, FPGA, ASICs and Terrahash china electricity thing. And thats supposed to be "fair"! Fuckoff. Noone is impressed if you need that much anything to encrypt something.
Early on Litecoin screamed foul and said back to CPU and I didn't listen. Bitcoin maximalism. Shitcoins are Shitcoin -You know? Meanwhile Litecoin is ASIC, too....
But on the way the cloning and ICO thing was discovered as the major thing for profit.... 2017 - BOOM!

Now look at the DAG again and tell me: No NO there must be mining.... The solution is so elegant that crypto cannot even see it has a burning house problem. Why? Cause Bitcoin is up. So all is fine.

Wait till Byteballs low supply (Good old Bitcoin Canon) starts to manifest its effect.

Several edits: not native etc.

Our Bid side in order-book still have 5Gb for over 0.03xxxx

Bittrex price:                      0.0295
Cryptox price:                    0.0298
Cryptochangex price:    0.033xx

That's over 100$ in clear profit if you SELL Gb in Cryptochangex.com and BUY in Bittrex

Just visit : https://cryptochangex.com/markets/gbytebtc

Be fast , other know about this too.

Thanks man. Turned 5 GB in 5.41GB (after transfer fees from Bittrex).

Next time I take PM. No need to let everyone know 😎

Honestly though CCX deserves more volume.

Here is a unsolicited review of trading on Cryptochangex.com, s1lverboxs new Exchange:

I had some time to test the new exchange Cryptochangex.com yesterday and I have to say
it is razor sharp!

First of: what the fuck is Bittrex doing? When I sent Byteball to Cryptochangex (CCX) I was expecting transaction times like on Bittrex. Wrong! While I was looking for a refresh button after I did sent GB to CCX (there isn't any) the GB instantly appeared.
Byteball for the win and wonderful implementation!
Bittrex is severly misrepresting the speed that is possible in Byteball. You have to make an account just to witness this alone. It is an eyeopener.

Who doesn't think the graphs at Bittrex suck bad?
On CCX you are trading straight in a full screen graphing environment. This is candy for trading!

Now I did say CCX is razor sharp, well it cuts both ways: When you have entered your amount and price and click buy/sell you get instant execution! It means there will not be another screen that tells you your order and you have to reconfirm - NO - Boom! You got it, no offer will slip away because someone else bought while you had to reconfirm.

This cuts both ways because you have the risk of doing a so called "fat finger trade". Imagine you missplaced a Comma! (I actually did that one time in the wallet Exchange  Tongue). Perhaps at some point CCX will have OPTIONAL fat finger protection. Meanwhile the exchange looks and feels like a daytraders wet dream. From traders for traders. Currently there is little Volume there and I got some good deals with arbitrage and owning both sell and buy wall and earning on the spread. I will certainly take my trades there and hope more Volume and Fiat deposits will arrive soon. It is unfortunate that CCX is not yet listed on Coinmarketcap.com (CMP) as Byteball marketplace and I hope that a json API will be available so the Volume can be sent to CMP. Sofar it is not listed in the CCX knowledgebase.

Another bonus is the low fee for transaction and withdrawing crypto.

Tldr: great exchange
Disclaimer: I have no stake in CCX and have not been paid for this review.

Ready for infinite regress? You know that this will make the Byteball DAG faster while you will be a gas burning bottleneck to Ethereum.

9 merchants so far: https://wiki.byteball.org/cashback#merchants
BYTEBALL AIRDROP -What's wrong with your Transition Bot, when I use my Trezor segwit address it says "Only P2PKH addresses are supported".

Sigh... Bitcoin is wrong. I know it is hard to take:
Your Trezor Wallet uses Segwit adresses. Segwit adresses cannot sign messages.
You could theroretically still confirm with a transaction BUT bitcoin also now uses HD-wallets which means that after you payed with an adress the wallet will move your remaining balance to a new adress.
Get a classic adress.

Because Byteball and DAG are 'niche' that's why.

Oh hi - its you again. Whats your protection in the niche when the Byteball community starts to get organized and raises awareness for the existence of DAGs vs Blockchains like privat shuttles vs public busses?

And the difference between a POW make the CPU glow DAG and a defense fee click'n'send DAG?
