21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most Alt teams have abondened their projects! on: August 08, 2018, 01:38:46 AM
A sad thing indeed. It just bothers me how one can be able to filter out the potential scammers  Undecided. They seem to know how to play their game so well such that unsuspecting victims fall prey into their hands.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will be the new king on: August 08, 2018, 01:34:06 AM
We can't sy for sure. Things are still getting into shape. Who knows, Bitcoin or Ethereum might not be the main currencies in the future.
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Criteria for choosing a good bounty on: July 31, 2018, 02:45:38 AM
Your criteria for choosing a good bounty should be practically the same as that criteria you would have if you were considering making a financial investment in the project. Remember, even if you're not investing money, when you participate in a bounty you're still investing. You're simply investing time rather than money. And you expect compensation for it. Why would you participate in a bounty for a project you're not interested in investing in? It makes no sense. Overview of what you should look for:

1. Does their project solve an actual need? Do they actually have a business here which they can monetize?
2. Look for some kind of MVP at the very least. Are they actually building something technically interesting? What do they have so far
3. Team. Can they pull it off?
4. Cryptoeconomics. Do they actually need a token as part of their business model. Hint: most don't. Projects like Augur for example do.
5. Who have they partnered with? Being partnered with big names e.g. BitcoinSuisse/AmaZix is a lot better as they projects do much more in depth due diligence and help hold the projects to account. If the project is managing their own bounty, instead of it being professionally managed, what reason do they have to actually pay you?
6. Look for projects that are straight forward & blunt with people. Not projects that vomit out useless marketing pieces about how they're going to "revolutionize the world". Also avoid projects that are too focused on getting your money / giving investors discounts/bonuses
7. Ask yourself if you think the project will be successful and highly sought after. Will they hit their hardcap? If they only reach 1/4 of their hard cap, chances are their token price won't hold up too well.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The way to make money from Bitcoin for newbie questions like me. on: July 31, 2018, 02:17:23 AM

Very useful for me. But this is a lot of people are suffering.

If these are difficult for you, you could do bounties instead. You wear signatures of projects doing ICOs here on the forum and post a certain number of meaningful posts per week to get stakes which will translate to your reward at the end of the ICO. Then you exchange these tokens fr BTC. This is an easier means. Check out the bounties section for more info.
Good luck.
25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Campaigns for Newbies/Beginners? on: July 31, 2018, 01:52:45 AM
I'll advise you to focus on getting established on the forum first before participating in bounties. As you are a newbie, you should read the rules and know how to find quality information here. Signature campaigns are not usually advisable for newbies because of their scarcity and very low payout. Continue to interact on the forum and rank up to junior member. Then you can start participating in bounties that are worth your time.
In case you'll still like to check out available bounties for newbies, check this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3051837.0
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [iMerits] Why do some coins fork from the Bitcoin chain? on: July 31, 2018, 01:44:54 AM
Forks do happen mainly because of the need to upgrade an aspect of the coin's functionality which can be exploited if left unattended to. While some forks are worth it, most of them stem from the desire to make money. At times, there are disagreements between the team members too.
27  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [List] Consensus Algorithms on: July 31, 2018, 01:34:14 AM
I'd love to add these, though they are still in ICO/develomental phase. They have the potential to be adopted.
1. Proof of Online: The proof of online algorithm takes into account the number of time a user spends online on a webpage that has the Online.io solution integrated. Online.io is usng this algorithm in their project.
2. Proof of Exercise: Gymrewards encurages exercising at the GYM by introducing Proof of Exercise to the blockchain. This means the more you exercise at the GYM, the more GYM Coins you will earn.
28  Other / Beginners & Help / Related Bitcointalk Signature Campaigns on: July 31, 2018, 01:10:11 AM
Signature campaigns on this forum are very popular since most of the past campaigns have been hugely successful. I want to know if there are other forums like bitcointalk that have high quality bounties. Anyone is free to share.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what are people doing? on: July 30, 2018, 02:31:09 PM
People are trying to cut down their losses. Its frustrating to see the value of your assets decrease to a level that it takes 4 or 5 months to recover.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rules are Rules on: July 26, 2018, 08:03:11 PM
Wherever you find yourself, always lookout for rules. Rules are rules and are meant to be obeyed. I wanted to trade on an exchange, but before trading, i needed to transfer my fund there.
I had a wrong assumption, because i thought every exchange sites have almost the same rules in common.
I made a mistake of not completing all the processes needed to transfer my fund to the exchange and that made me to loose my fund.
After contacting the admin, i was told that the penalty would be to pay a fee before it could be rectified.
To my amazement, the fund i transferred in there could not cover the fee for the penalty. It was exactly half of it. That was the price i paid for not obeying rules.
Had it been i read the rules carefully well before proceeding, i would not have lost my fund.

Rules will help you to maintain your boundaries.

I was trying to sell my bounty tokens some days ago but I discovered that there was only one exchange that was trading it. On reading their policies,  I discovered that it is compulsory to complete KYC before withdrawal could be made.  Now,  all my documents are not ready yet.  I was not ready to send my tokens to that exchange and wait forever to withdraw them.
Though the value of my tokens have decreased considerably,  I'm happy keeping them. I cannot lose them to exchanges simply because I was mindful of the rules.
As you've said,  rules are rules.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing your life savings on BTC? Hurting everyday? on: July 26, 2018, 07:50:09 PM
People buy lottery ticket all the time, that’s total fine, spending $5 here and there for fun. But if you mortgage your house to buy lottery tickets you are crazy.

Same thing with bitcoin. Spend a few grand for chuckle is fine, chances are you won’t see your money again. Heck I would pick up a few bitcoins too when it drops below $100.

If you spent your life savings buy Bitcoin, get out now while you still have something left! New crypto currencies are coming to replace BTC. Stop torment yourself everyday watching your money goes into red day after day after weeks after months.... you will spend your retirement working at McDonald’s trying to earn it back!
At least bitcoin's gains are higher than the others. Bitcoin is still the cryptocurrency that has the lowest risk right now.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Private Key 🔑 of Ethos and Trust Wallets on: July 24, 2018, 11:59:38 PM
Trust and Ethos Wallets have made access to cryptocurrencies easy because it enables one to hold his portfolio on his mobile phone.
However, the private keys are not do obvious. In the event that the companies shuts down (or some unfortunate incident occurs),  how do we get access to the cryptocurrencies we stored in the wallets?
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / MobileBridge Momentum ICO - A simple explanation of what the platform is about. on: July 24, 2018, 02:45:40 PM
MobileBridge is a unique mobile automation platform that enables two-way communication between customers and businesses and also provides loyalty programs through its broad range of assets.

Customers do not usually use their loyalty points because their value is either too low or it takes a very long time to gather points that can be redeemable. MobileBridge allows customers to transfer the value of their unused points across different companies in different regions on their platform. Users can also convert the points to fiat or any other cryptocurrency of their choice. Thus, money spent on advertising through third-party agents can be spent on customers in the form of rewards.

How Companies Can Leverage the MobileBridge Platform
The platform enables companies to reward customers with their own brand of token or the Momentum Token (which is the de-facto currency that will be used on the platform) for their data, advocacy, insights and loyalty. For instance, companies can give a bonus to customers for downloading their mobile app. They can give them the opportunity to earn more by filling surveys, inviting friends, and other simple tasks. As the points become redeemable, the companies can send them a notification as soon as they are in the vicinity of that company, informing them that they can get free products in exchange for their loyalty points. They can encourage the customers to share their app and post reviews on their social networks. As the customers give their data, the companies use it to learn about their behaviour and send them personalized offers based on their preferences.

Data Transparency
We understand that some customers are unwilling to share their personal data because they are afraid their data will be abused. Mobilebridge uses blockchain technology to prevent customers' data breach while also ensuring that they have total data ownership and full control of their data. At any time, they can determine which companies have access to their data and how it is used.

P.S.This is my attempt at making the ICO simple enough to understand for people who do not have the time to go through the white paper.

35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ICO Affiliate Programs instead of Bounty on: July 24, 2018, 09:32:54 AM
I don't like the idea of affiliate campaigns for ICOs. It's very difficult to convince people especially if you're not too experienced and established in the industry. With bounties,  you can earn even while you're still learning. There are social media campaigns, article campaigns and the rest.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can all types of crypto be mined? on: July 24, 2018, 09:19:05 AM
If you intend to mine cryptocurrencies,  ensure you have a very good hardware which can provide you good value for your money. Else,  you might be wasting time. It's usually better to buy them from exchanges rather than mining them.
37  Other / Meta / Re: [HELP] My account has been hacked. on: July 23, 2018, 08:44:47 PM
This is all you need now: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords

Additionally, update your OP above with...

1. Profile link of the hacked account
2. Sign the btc address that was used before on the stake your bitcoin address by Tomatocage

Then, show some skills
1. Keep bumping the topic every after 24 hours.
2. Wait patiently

I did not stake my bitcoin address while I still had access to my account. But I put my Ethereum address on my profile. Can I sign this as well?
