21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sell BTT to buy more TRX, the power of compounding? on: February 14, 2019, 11:08:11 PM
Yes, Tron lost about -8% in a week, making whole operation with BTT kind of a dividend, which has been cut from the stock price. Nevertheless, Tron price is going to be influenced each beginning of the month, when accumulating before 11th is happening.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive income from cryptocurrencies in 2019 on: February 13, 2019, 03:49:57 PM
Just to quickly recap:

Bitcoin: NO passive income
ETH: Maybe in the future from POS, but now not

KuCoin Shares: couple of percent dividend in KCS, but huge token value loss
VeChain: similar to KCS, but additionally to the value loss, VeThor is not trading at all
Neo: NeoGas is working and tradable (ROI around 2%), Neo also lost lots of value
Tron: BTT airdrop each month
Lisk: possible to delegate voting power to delegates

Electroneum: Something comes from mobile mining on smartphone, but it is not passive.
Cardano: possibly in 2019

So, it seems it is all about predicting roughly whether Tron or BTT will do better Huh It isn't so clear, as BitTorrent is a kind of feedback loop on the Tron, while being itself promising project.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Sell BTT to buy more TRX, the power of compounding? on: February 12, 2019, 08:57:32 PM
Is it a good idea to sell airdropped BitTorrent tokens and buy more Tron? Each month on 11th there will be airdrop providing holder with more BTT, thanks to this after several months portfolio would grow. Two things to consider:
- is BTT growth rate surpassing TRX? Depends on other apps in Tron ecosystem?
- Does it make sense to do this operation, when airdrop would last only 5 years?

Opinions would be appreciated.

With no suggestions yet, we continue our cryptocurrency series. This time we point out cryptocurrency, which is the leader of Chinese investors' sentiment: EOS, 4 place by coinmarketcap. No wonder, as it is very complex project, on the top of which there is complete and functional ecosystem of decentralized apps. Natural competitor of Ethereum, it may seem, but for far eastern investors it is better choice than ETH, with its founder coming from other country. EOS is lively space with many apps already up and running, so we are recommending taking a close look into it.

It is hard for me to believe that today there is a real opportunity to receive passive income in 2019. It seems to me that today there is no such opportunity, which all the same will be further reduced, because there are more greedy people.

This is sad conclusion. But maybe it is the closest summary to the present state of the industry.

There is also one new project that pays something resembling dividend, which is monthly airdrop of BitTorrent for Tron holders. First batch worked fine yesterday.

Is there any specific subject of the cryptocurrency market that investors would like to read about? Let us know, maybe in this thread. We sometimes do requested posts, if they have potential to interest many readers.

Anybody tried to get passive income by voting with their LISK cryptocurrency holdings for a delegate, who then pays part of the forged coins? This looks like a way to get some passive income from crypto.

We took a closer look at Chinese champion of smart contracts and almost all aspects of blockchain cryptocurrency. We got inspired by the idea of getting passive income from cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency Neo is one of a few projects that actually pay dividends, in the form of NeoGas.

One of the other interesting aspects in Neo is free transactions, for now. Many features make this project interesting, some say it is main Ethereum competitor, but reality is harsher. EOS seems to be China's favorite, and Tron recently successfully launched Bittorrent ICO, getting the most attention of the crypto world. Not much going on about Neo development?
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive income from cryptocurrencies in 2019 on: February 06, 2019, 09:59:06 PM
So, just to shortly recap passive income from cryptocurrencies:
Bitcoin: NO passive income
ETH: Maybe in the future from POS, but now not
KuCoin Shares: couple of percent dividend in KCS, but huge token value loss
VeChain: similar to KCS, but additionally to the value loss, VeThor is not trading at all
Neo: NeoGas is working and tradable (ROI around 2%), Neo also lost lots of value
Electroneum: Something comes from mobile mining on smartphone, but it is not passive.

Some other tokens PROMISE dividends, but projects are not testable in present.

Yes, cryptos are emerging as new way of passive income for investors. Some coins already provide such as eos, steem and masternode coins.

How do EOS and Steem provide?

Switzerland has been the capitol of the world when it comes to banking. There is little surprise to recognize Swiss capacity to innovate in banking sector using blockchain and digital assets. There are many ventures, financed with risk-accepting money purposed to develop projects targeted to revolutionize world's finance. Other investors tend to be more down to earth, however. We posted short piece with advices when calculating Bitcoin price in Swiss currency, Franc. Nothing fancy, but it is worth to know, especially that not many cryptocurrency exchanges display BTC price in CHF.

Do you think maybe BitTorrent would be a good idea to earn cryptocurrency (with minimal effort), just by keeping content online? ICO has been quite successful.
34  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoRatingAgency.com - revealing cryptocurrency value on: February 01, 2019, 06:47:07 PM
VeChain cryptocurrency is one of the leaders of... cryptocurrency losses from the All Time High. Over 99% is a disaster. However, there are several positive occurrences in this project. We have pointed out what is going on in VeChain in 2019, including most fundamental changes, like releasing VeThor and explaining how does it relate to VeChain.

One thing is disturbing though, since weeks VeThor tokens are "traded" on the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges. There is no value attached to those tokens, unfortunately. Every month, VeChain holders are getting VeThor, but can't sell or trade. This makes calculating potential return very difficult, almost impossible.
35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is biggest EU exchange BitBay in financial distress or in danger? $40k withheld on: January 29, 2019, 10:13:20 PM
in 3 weeks top from now  , BTC will be @~5365$ (even higher in a longer term), i think this might be why they held the money.
i bit they made the transaction on waiting (like 40,000$ status: waiting) till the price go up, they will be profiting about 33% just for stalling.

and if anyone asks to get paid on the new exchange, the answer we already did the exchange on the time, but we had a problem in the blah blah blah

This is supposedly NOT the reason of withholding the funds. It is simply way too few dollars to do such company public image damage. The question is if it is a liquidity problem?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive income from cryptocurrencies in 2019 on: January 29, 2019, 10:11:20 PM
I think that buying Ethereum (very very undervalued now) and hold it until new update come with POS consensus, this will give you possibility to stake Ethereum and "mine" some new Ether tokens. After this update price will skyrocket I think because all people are interested in passive income.

Well, ETH doesn't seem to be a good idea, as there is no information about the projected outcome. There was a lot of promises in regards of January's implementation of ETH POS 1st stage, which ended badly. Did anything change in this regard?
37  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoRatingAgency.com - revealing cryptocurrency value on: January 28, 2019, 10:32:10 PM
End of January brought some additional discounts to cryptocurrency prices. We have an article about Ethereum, where we compared different ways to buy Ethereum cheaply. Today, it is not about getting the best price, but also buying in the right moment, most likely after couple percent drop. However, price of ETH has been lower in the past months, on the strong support around $80.
38  Economy / Trading Discussion / Is biggest EU exchange BitBay in financial distress or in danger? $40k withheld on: January 28, 2019, 09:53:03 PM
Summary:
- BitBay moved from Poland to Malta in 2018,
- BitBay customer demands via attorney $40000 of his funds, unlawfully withheld by BitBay since 13 December 2018
- BitBay confirms the situation and claims release is agains their regulations, no further details or resolution dates
Is it possible that due to weak new funds inflow exchange suffers from lack of fiat money funds?

Today, on one of the biggest social sites in Poland, BitBay's customer claimed that cryptocurrency exchange is withholding his funds of 150000 PLN (equivalent of $40,000 USD) since 13 December 2018. He supports his claims with attorney's demand to release funds: documents, case description, BitBay statement.

BitBay in the statement denies financial problems and promises new functionalities and releases. On the other hand side, after a year of operation in unfavorable market conditions, cryptocurrency projects are not supported by the easy capital of willing investors, as it was at the beginning of 2018. The shortages in fiat currencies affect some exchanges and most of startups. It is possible that with larger transfers, such as the mentioned PLN 150 000 (over USD $40 000), the liquidity of the stock exchange may simply shake.

Most of the withdrawals are functionings well, but there has been occurrences such as the one above in the past. Customers had to wait for months, some haven't received funds yet. Do you think it is possible that, as written in the article, there could be solvency problem of such a big exchange?

What about forks in terms of passive income. Can the newly created, forked cryptocurrency be considered passive income? Irregular, unexpected and sometimes taking a bit of original currency value. But on the other hand, there is not much to do, it just adds up to the portfolio without much effort. What do you think?

Bitcoin Cash seems to be a bit late to get any response, but Brexit is still a hot subject. We recently prepared some shortcuts for crypto investors, who would like to check Bitcoin price in British Pounds. Nothing fancy, some quick shots using browser and search engine. Just to save some time and avoid easy mistakes when converting price from dollars (or other) to UK's currency.
