21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 25, 2014, 10:44:16 PM

@mineryyyyy

Find a right //./COMxx name for LTC only is a pain, so that is why we developed a GUI for that. GUI uses a script to detect miners and ports, than use the right port automatically.

Is there anything I can do to get the GUI to be more stable with LTC only?  I am running 55 DualMiners and I would say an average of 6 of them go idle after 10 minutes or so.  The only thing I can do is to restart the software/computer and then they all mine fine for 10 minutes.  I tried setting the LTC Delayed Start to various numbers but it didn't seem to help anything.  Other than the few going idle these things run great - nice and cool 70k all day.
What hubs are you using? How many units per hub?

6 Orico P10-U2 with 9 DualMiners per Hub and then 3 of the hubs plugging into a 7th Orico.

First I would begin by connecting one strip at a time and testing for 10 minutes or so to see if any idle. Also make sure you are power cycling like in the image below. Systematically test each hub/DM as you add them. It may take a little time but should get you with a stable setup, and isolate any problematic variables.

I have 99 units with p10-u2 hubs running on raspberry pi. I will be posting a guide soon for others who are interested.

Which miner software are both of you talking about? Where did you download it?

@poopypants, you can run chmod +x autogen.sh , this should maybe fix your permission problem.
But you don't need to build it with sudo (root privileges), so if you did that before, this might not work. If you did that, try to remove the build directory, download it again and start from scratch without sudo.

Custom cgminer build from dualminer that just committed to github: https://github.com/dualminer/dualminer

I navigate to the dualminer-master folder on my pi.  Type,  sh ./configure --enable-dualminer --enable-scrypt --disable-opencl --without-libudev --prefix=$DIR_PATH/
make && make install

the output is

warning you should use --build, --host,  --target
checking build configuration type... Invalid configuration 'make' machine 'make' not recognized
configure error /bin/bash ./config.sub make failed

I am very new to linux interface so I appreciate the help even tho this could be trivial for more experienced users.  Thanks in advanced
Try running ./autogen.sh before running ./configure.

Ok, I received mine today but think it's having issues. Getting HW errors on both dual mode and LTC only mode, plus the led's are not lighting up. Any idea's on the problem? It is connected to a powered USB hub.
thanks,
Tom
Which powered hub? USB 2 or USB3? How much power does it provide?

Hi CruzCoins.. I know it's 2.0 but it's a couple of years old, I was thinking about that last night and was going to go out thoday and see if I can find a newer one, but now, I don't think it'll make a difference. I connected the miner directly to one of the USB2 ports on my new gaming machine I built and it's doing the same thing. So, I have to assume somethig is not right with the miner itself.

Are the drivers installing? Does it properly show 2 COMS for each dualminer in your device manager? Have you tried on another computer? I had an issue with windows not installing drivers, but it worked fine on another box. Check the power that your powered hub can provide, because you may be trying to run too many sticks with not enough power. If the sticks don't work directly into the usb port on the pc, then it is possible that the drivers got screwed up. I would try the DMs on another machine to eliminate firmware and power issues if possible.

So it is looking like these devices die to early, glad i didnt spend money on these, how is the guy doing that posted the 6 MH picture now?
I have added another 10-strip and am hashing at ~7mh/s with these. It has been a little tricky getting the whole setup stable but I seem to be close. There is still more software development to be done to increase stability. My dualminers are hashing away ;p

Are these things only for Windows or do they work with normal multi-platform software too?

-MarkM-

Currently only Windows software is available (custom cgminer build). Multi-platform support is coming soon.

and not 1 of those usb miners has died yet?
I am running further stability tests.
30  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 08, 2014, 07:07:26 PM

Looks like about 6.3MH/s

(10x70khs)x9= 6.3MH/s
Correct. Pictured is doing ~6.3mh/s. (10x70kh/s)*9=~6.3mh/s

32  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC , combo.free samples review report here. on: February 01, 2014, 04:47:22 AM
I apologize it looks as though they have put the wiibox in a case finally instead of leaving it exposed if that is what the smaller box is.  Some of the other reviewers either failed to show this item or did not receive it.

As you also stated with your current software you will only be able to test scrypt mode and without the relay box to handle the resets you can't test dual mode for more than a few hours.

diginforce is the reseller only for chinese market. and they don't have the oversea support .
for english user, LIGHTNINGASIC TEAM will be good choice.

if why no english language support at your website?
http://www.lightningasic.com/
FWIW lightningasic's website is currently being translated and some documentation is being re-written for english-speaking customers. Native speakers are working on this and the lightningasic team plans to have native speakers on staff for assistance in the future. Stay tuned for the english roll-out in the coming weeks..

ya'll better hurry, I have been tempted to take the rest....demon, if I pay for what's left later tonite what happens to those that reserved but didn't pay up and I pay before they do?
From what I understand once the groupbuy account reaches the amount needed for Batch 1, payment will be sent and people can have their hands on units early next week. There will be multiple batches so anyone who misses out on this one will have another chance, though it may be nice to give people who reserved an extra 12-24 hours. The payment address has been live for a while now and people should be aware that this groupbuy is moving quickly. It's the first available (to me anyway) scrypt asic chip- I can't believe this batch hasn't completed itself already..

Just an update. I have been direct communication with the distributer tonight and were told the units are already in united states being processed with customs.  Shocked Smiley Cheesy Grin Cool
Thanks keeping us updated. Digging out my usb hubs for next week..
Looks like almost 2/3 of the first batch is already paid for..
35  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only] on: January 31, 2014, 02:04:20 AM
I understand that these units are actually ready as soon as groupbuy payment is complete. Let's make some paid orders to get our hands on these things as soon as possible.

demonmaestro- please confirm my reservation to paid. thanks

Well I got them and here is a screenshot

Mind showing a pic of the 'BTC Status' and 'cgminer output' tab as well? I'm assuming this was being run in dual mode. Thanks
38  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only] on: January 29, 2014, 10:26:04 PM
I'd like to make a reservation for 100 units of the first batch of dualminers. Thank you.

Hi,
Could you remove my reservation for 1, I am going to use the US group buy as it saves a ton in shipping.  Sorry.
Thanks.

Sure. Done

Please remove my reservation as well for the same reason that I'm in the USA

I am also taking a local/domestic opportunity and need to remove my reservation of 50 units. Thanks for your time and energy.
40  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN][Worldwide] Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 on: January 29, 2014, 06:48:11 AM
I'd like to reserve 50 units (or as many as stock allows). I wouldn't like to order less than 20 though. Please PM me for more info. Thanks.
