21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency Coin Dice Site Source on GitHub on: July 24, 2014, 12:48:37 PM
It doesn't matter for me, just hoping this will be useful or inspirational for someone down the line... Smiley. I can see it being used, e.g. new cryptocurrency wants to have their own dice site, I doubt any of the larger gambling sites will bother. Or someone wants to make a game for cryptos and is looking for a reference...

22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency Coin Dice Site Source on GitHub on: July 24, 2014, 11:16:55 AM
Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been here. Other commitments have prevented me from dedicating as much time as I'd like to, and I am also at a stage in life where I think I should focus on other priorities.

Some of you may know I had (and still have) a small dice/crypto site at http://supercrypt.co, and a example site is http://coindice.supercrypt.co. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to actively manage it, although I am trying to allocate more time to the crypto world again.

I've been contemplating this for a while, but decided to share what I've made with the community. Hopefully, the source code helps someone somewhere and inspires more games, and more uses for the cryptocurrency world.

The full source, with a README that I've tried to elaborate as much as possible can be found on GitHub here: http://go.yc.sg/cryptosrc OR if you'd prefer a direct link, here: https://github.com/Wysie/crypto_dice_site. I'd appreciate if you could use the shortened link as I am generally quite obsessed about data Tongue, so it'd be good to see how many hits I get from this, just for the fun of it.

Thank you for the fun times Smiley!

Again, the source is at:

Source: http://go.yc.sg/cryptosrc OR https://github.com/Wysie/crypto_dice_site

Hey Seefude, is there some issue with GOODcoind (I compiled from github)? It keeps killing itself, the rest of my altcoin daemons are running fine. I haven't looked into it further, thought I'd ask here first.

Thanks!

All good then. Heh. I see @AsiaCoin_ has also retweeted my tweet Smiley! Fully synced now, happy dicing! http://asiacoindice.supercrypt.co.

I've updated the wallet for the dice site, please give it a shot Smiley!

http://asiacoindice.supercrypt.co/

The logo should be updated to reflect the new one shortly.

Kudos to the devs of this revival project, it's amazing to see this happening! Smiley

I gave it to them in DM.

Ok I'm confused now... The OP clearly says new wallet is ready for download, and the source is out as well? I compiled the source from github for the dice site and then released it. Should this not be done?

Hi guys, wanted to give an update to the wallet situation. Our coder has developed a fix a few days ago, but is having issues testing it, which we want to do so as to ensure nobody loses any GOODs. I want to give it a bit more time before considering more drastic routes. If you think you can help resolve this issue, please either send stashdev a pm, or join #goodcoin on freenode. Bounties will by paid for any help on the matter, especially if a resolution is found.
It would be a shame to have to take a drastic route. Hopefully a solution is found soon. BTW what are the issues?

The issue is that the wallet dev and helpers needs to figure out a way to test the fix to make sure it is working properly.  Otherwise if we want to avoid the drastic route then we could release the wallet and hope it works as planned, but we want to avoid that because we want to make sure the issue is resolved otherwise more issues may arise instead.  We do hope to have this issue resolved because GOOD has big potential in the works so we need to have this issue resolved.  Please be patient because GOOD is bound for greatness and we want you early adopters to be a part of it.  Smiley

Would you be able to test it if everyone (who is helping test it) turns their computer clock forward in time to the exact same time or something?

That is a possibility.

How can we help, Seefude? I can test the wallet, etc. Smiley

How would you suggest testing?

Share the wallet link with us, I can run it on some virtual machines, send some GOOD from my existing wallet to the ones on the VMs, and see if it works? Smiley

I find that the altcoin community has a lot of ideas, and a lot of talkers, but very few people actually doing the work required to bring those ideas to fruition. Dogecoin and Vertcoin are probably the best communities I've seen, but outside of them, I see a lot of greed, a lot of talk just for bounties. Indeed, we should think big, but we should also start. Even a small start is a start. The issue I see today is lots of thinking big, and nothing else.

@gts476: It'd be great if you could take the action needed and let us know what the detailed steps are in order for your idea to happen.

Just my two cents GOODs.

For example,

Dr Major League Gaming,

GOOD coin feels that the communities of eSports and crypto-currencies are a natural fit for one another and we would love to explore the possibility of a long term strategic partnership between the two.

In the spirit of this exciting endeavour GOOD would like to sponsor the organisation of a tournament where entry will be free and all prizes will be awarded in GOOD......

bla bla bla.....

Their sponsor section is down but......

http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/advertise

If you a message like that to there then that would be a pretty good start, no?

GOOD would need value before doing this, create that value by committing to this idea, announcing it, wait a while and then do it.

That is where you start.

No?

Just do it then, and keep us updated Smiley. Thanks!

GOOD Dice site up: http://gooddice.supercrypt.co/

However, I don't have any GOODs at the moment, need to wait for bounty for bankroll purposes. For reference look at the other dice sites I have.

OP: My GOOD address is in my signature, please send the bounty across and I will add it to the dice site bankroll Wink. Thanks!

Done. Thanks for your contribution, and congratulations on the first games bounty!

Thanks! Smiley The game is now playable as you can see Cheesy.

By the way, will you be sending the rest of the GOODs on a daily basis as you mentioned in the first post?

hmm, did site go down? I can't see it anymore

It's back up Smiley. Sorry for the short downtime. And shout out to sircoinminer (is that you btw?) for being the first dice roller!

Correct sir. Goods are paid out daily in increments, so there are no big whale dumpers unless they mined them.

Cool, that's good to know Smiley! I just realized we both have an activity of 98, which will change once I post this.. Tongue
