The coins main purpose is to be used in a bounty system to entice pirate groups to upload new content and content not yet added in different quality and subtitles. It is all speculation at this point as it hasn't been added into the site yet but it is supposed to be with the next two weeks.

We will have more and more holder with every little dump who will hold and make the big money @ 50k to 100k... Also look the 3day chart we are still +45% up the last 3 days. If you look the 1Week Chart we are up +179% If you look the 1 month Chart we are 1164% up... I think everythink looks very very bullish also the Panic sale has happend. And at this moment a Panic buy on Yobit beginn.  All dumpers realize now that it was a quiet a bad idea to sell... Yep, I was actually hoping it would go back down a little so I could buy some more. btw. the new design look really awesome and professional.
I would also find it good when there where a german section.
New design is nice, but I don't like transparency in header background cause it looks messy when you scroll through the movies and movie picture comes under the purevidz logo. I agree, it doesn't look the best. I think it should either be hidden, or, you could keep it that way and make the header respond by getting darker when the user hovers over it. But it is still early. They are more focused on getting the UI working. The extra visual fluff will come later. I'm actually really impressed with the dev team. They do not disappoint. |

I'm not quite sure how adding to the platform (and getting paid a bounty) works, because the function of the site is more like a tracker, would you upload a torrent/magnet file or the actual movie file?
there are no torrents on the site. it's ipfs now. ffs. Ok, so in that case you are telling me that the actual movie file will have to be uploaded for it to get onto the network? How does that work? While torrents use a magnet link to connect people to a file IPFS uses a hash. It is similar to a magnet link. So no, there are no files hosted on the website. And before asking more questions, realize just a small amount of research on your part will give you most of the information you seek. Check out IPFS's website for more info on how it works and if you are still confused there are tons of repeated questions in these pages to answer any others you have. then how vidz coin works for the sysytem? Whether it is torrents or IPFS hashes doesn't matter when it comes to bounties. Bounties are based on delivering a movie or show that people request. So no matter what the streaming system uses bounties will still be fulfilled by linking a movie or show you have that someone requested. Like any site, there is a possibility of a shutdown, yet they have already said before they have created safeguards to prevent that. It is still possible it could shut down, but they have been trying to shut down piratebay for years with no success. |

I think the big problem with everyone's approach to looking at other sites with similar technology is that they see it as detrimental. The torrenting world is a sharing community and so is this new streaming community. piratebay, demonoid, etc, all had very similar function and files, yet they all co-existed. A sharing community cannot exist with just one. It is great to imagine only having the one, as you have a monopoly, but with multiple entities you feed off of each other and you strive to be the best in the bunch. Competition is a good thing, not a bad thing.
If you fear competition, you will never take that leap forward

I think your eyes were too big on that February launch window. It is so new without many examples to go off of that I think what people are mostly saying is that you should have given a more vague Q1 launch period rather than a specific date. I'll admit I never expected it to be released in early February. It sounded way too bold. I'm just glad you guys realized this and decided to work more on it rather than release some broken pre-alpha garbage.
All in all, it will be worth it.
PS If you guys need help I can always supply you guys with some Energy drinks, cocaine, and meth. You'll be done in a week... Or dead. One of those two.

People have been hyping this coin pretty hard for a while now, but I don't understand why. It doesn't appear to bring anything different to the table except the Swiss branding. I really don't get why people hype things as being the NEXT bitcoin. It only makes me nervous when I hear people say this. Especially when you are creating a coin with no real technological advancements. Just more of the same.
I want to create a Killcoin. It leeches from shitty coin networks until transactions completely halt making the coin useless.

As for the Subtitles problem, I think it is funny because I was going to upload låt den rätte komma in but it is mp4 with external subtitles. I was thinking Another course of action would be to have uploaders hardcode the subtitles into the video so they are not external but permanent. You could implement this by changing the upload page so that someone can add a movie and then select if it has subtitles. This would allow you to deliver the hash link of whichever subtitled version they wanted. It is completely optional and puts no strain on the devs except for changing the upload page to include a subtitle section. I would say then you could just make it an extra tag.

I have tested it out and mkv files Do indeed work. It is cool to have the ability to take a hash and stream any video through mpv or whatever you use.
I get the feeling that purevidz is moving into not just a streaming service, but also an IPFS Media DataBase, which I don't think anyone currently has. Also, its acronym is IMDB, just an interesting find.
And to he guy above me, webtorrents is in beta and IPFS I think is still in alpha.
Sidenote, don't try and upload videos through the web app for IPFS, in the examples section is a clear way of uploading video through the terminal which works.

Do you think people get payed to use chemotheapy? also, I'm pretty sure tampering with a medical device would end up costing you more than anything. They have no real computing strength. And say you tried to do this and you mess up. The device could stop feeding you oxygen and would only create a bad situation for you.

can I run ipfs on my home computer if I wanted to host a node?
Yes, as long as it isn't an ancient computer it should be good. I'm actually not that happy about the transition. The setup for ipfs is going to lose some people. Not only that but you are switching from a beta interface in webtorrent to an alpha interface with ipfs. I'm not sure about it. Maybe after I get over the initial headache of having to use the terminal again for something, ill begrudgingly go along with it. Maybe it will be good.  I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding but let me try to reword some of what I said again so everyone is on the same page... We're not abandoning WebTorrent support. Tomorrow, we are adding support for IPFS which will require some downtime to to transition and test things. We've contacted those who've been heavy uploaders of our platform and are working with them to have their content pulled off the site in the WebTorrent format and reuploaded in IPFS format. We expect most the content to be removed and replaced in the secondary format hence why we said there will be essentially a purge... the reason we're doing this is to test the scalability of IPFS in our infrastructure. Suppose you were one of those people we contacted, you can simply refuse us and say "Sorry Pure_Vidz, I don't want to take this particular video down" or even "Sorry, too lazy" and that's fine, we're not forcing anyone to comply! After these changes content will uploadable in both WebTorrent and IPFS format. For people who simply want to use the site rather than actually upload things these changes will greatly improve your over all experience. I was basically saying I was part of the "sorry, too lazy" category. But I'm just tired right now. Tomorrow I'll probably do the whole setup and be ready to reupload. |

I agree with most of Trump's policies, but I don't agree with this one. Abortion must be legal (with the exception of partial birth abortion). Why create orphans, if the parents are not interested in raising the child? Also, sometimes if the fetus is not aborted, it can result in health complications for the mother. Or it will only live for a few days after birth? Or the mother will die because of complications? Placing children into horrible conditions because they are so selfish they want to impose their views on everyone else. Not all abortions are just senseless selfish desires. This war will never happen. It is a dream scenario for people who like to play war games in their minds. Like a good chess scenario between two great players. The United States never fights an economic adversary head on and the same goes twice as much for China. There will be more(maybe) satellite wars fought by other nations just like the Cold War. Just read up on how China trains their government officials and generals. They do not train for traditional war. They try to take down their opponents without fighting.
Also, if you read Chinese newspapers and read up on their officials, they always state they are not ready for an all out war. Their navy and Air Force are not equipped to take on the USA.
