When we started VegasCoin we had two things in mind, putting the power of the money in the people’s hands just like bitcoin, and many other alt currencies just like it do.  Offering only 100,000,000 coins total, with a faster more secure system than bitcoin even provides.  However we wanted to bring the municipality aspect into the system, to help keep the money cycled inside Las Vegas, Nevada and promote tourism to future guests.

Just like Auroracoin that shot up over 1000% in one day, for the Icelandic community in Iceland!

We also did not over saturate our coins, we chose to use almost the same algorithm as litecoin who offers 84,000,000 coins to our 100,000,000 coins. Currently as I am writing this on March 5th 2014, VegasCoin is worth $0.05 per coin, it’s currently a buyer’s market!

Our mission since day one has been to get VegasCoin created then accepted by local businesses who can then take part in the growth.  So far we are in the talks with a limo company, nightclub, and advertising company along with plans to even meet with local Las Vegas, Nevada casino & hotel marketing directors and owners.

Do understand like anything, everyone wants to see results.  We understand that, and in just under 25 days we managed to not only create VegasCoin, but also the website, wallet and even exposure to 2 crypto currency exchanges.  Most people who hear about the coin, instantly say what a great name we have due to the popular recognition of Las Vegas, Nevada as the vacation hot spot it’s already known for.

All in all, do what you want but I can tell you with the plan, name, and system behind this coin.  Anything under $1.00 a coin is a for sure buy in my book.  Thank you for reading this, and please feel free to show your support at www.VegasCoin.co

Great news.

как там будут чередоваться поф и пос блоки? если поф награда будет 1 коин, то то разве поф компонент не будет иметь мощность около нуля? и полную незащищенность?

One thing some people often repeat is that PoS coins won’t last, because they lose the network security a vast number of miners provides. Can you explain how the network will remain secure and thriving?

This is not true. Similar to PoW that’s subject to a 51% attack, the PoS will need to hold 51% coins in order to be able to attack the coin. But holding 51% and then attacking your own coin normally is not in your interests.

Do you anticipate people to keep mining once block rewards drop to 1? Why keep block rewards for mining going, if no one will point machines toward it given the low reward?

If no one will mine blocks at 1 coin per block, we will happily mine them. Though not much, if no one competing with you, you still can get a lot.
Even no one mines, it doesn’t matter. As the transactions will be ensured and confirmed by the PoS block generations. The coin network will still go on fine, and remember that we will run a few servers to ensure a minimal service at any time.

Grin
