Thats great, thanks for the info. Your right it has been successful, Thats a whole lot of KARM.
I don't think wolong has his eyes on Karma. The fact we are only running LTC markets right now is killing us a little.
I don't understand why the BTC markets were taken away in the first place. Can we get BTC /KARM back on at least one major alt exchange?
The BTC markets were killing us because of the huge sells walls. Its not good to have a coin changing price between 3 and 4 satoshi (+33% !), for instance. If someone bought at 3 satoshi, they would be very tempted to try to sell it right away for 4 satoshi (33% profit). Not to talk about when the price was between 1 and 2 satoshi (50% difference up and 100% difference down)... I believe we are going to return to the BTC markets soon. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. Each thing on its time... Haha right I can see how that would complicate things. I think soon after this Karmashares launch we need to put those Karma to some good use and get some media coverage from somewhere.... To be honest we need media coverage right now... Is anyone working on how we can do this? |

And I honestly believe that all cards are being played well so I see no reason for not having at least a moderate success. At the current price of Karma coins (so cheap!) it looks really a very small risk compared with the possible (probable?) outcome. :-) Well thats what I figure, I have always thought of the coins like little business start ups anyway so this just reenforces that. All of the successful coins should allow for an IPO in the shares of that business then pay a dividend to the holders. This is beneficial for both parties in many ways. My only question is... And it may be a stupid one but... What happens to all of the KARM you are taking in? Also I notice some one is trying to keep the price down on mintpal. The Karma will be used very spariingly (if at all) until we have a system in place where the shareholders can vote on how to spend it. I'm thinking that we could mostly use it to reward those projects that have some momentum or success. For example, if we build a website that is gaining users rapidly then spending X karma on it could be justified. But this is something the community can decide at the time. We could even experiment with internal 'X' prizes. e.g., "The team that builds a site and reaches 5,000 users first gets xxxxxx Karma to split among them. We can show results first and then think about how to spend it. If we need operational funds then we could release very little at a time into the market. But again, the community would decide this. Yes, it appears that some whales have been trying to load up on Karma for a while now. (Wolong at work again?) The downtrend a few days ago was the perfect opportunity, I think. Hmmm I think that sounds like a good idea, the only thing I don't want to happen is those karm get dumped on exchanges. There are 49,105,034,065 KARM at this moment in time, I would like to know how much has been taken out of circulation from this at the end. I am pretty sure I saw something like a total amount when I made my purchase. Is Karm wanting to go down the fund raising/charitable giving side of things? I know a few good stores in the media at the moment that would pick up on a KARM donation and run with the story.... It don't think its wolong haha we would have seen a huge spike by now. And remember that more quantum periods are coming. Who would believe that 3 weeks ago? Whales are always going to be here. BTW how do you know that Woolong has his eyes on Karma? They can make the market go down by selling huge quantities of coins to themselves, therefore creating the illusion that lots of people are panic selling. Only to after buy some cheap coins until the market re-bounces up. Well I have always wanted Karm to do well, I enjoyed the hype of it when it launched. ''The new doge'' haha ! I only have about 100LTC to play with on the market, there are quite a few sell walls on cryptsy and quite a few on mintpal. The market is currently sat at 39 - 40 Ltcs. I could maybe take it to around 60 Ltcs but only on one exchange... I would be aiming for 100 if I was going to do it. If anyone else has any LTC they want to put forward to help then im in |

The UK has ''Legalised'' BTC in a sense and only at this stage.
They have outlined that BTC is subject to Taxes, Not VAT anymore but things like Capital Gain's, income tax etc etc.
Although this statement suggest's they are condoning it, it doesn't mean they wont change the legal rules surrounding BTC later down the line... But any crypto currency falls under these same rules.
So even if maza coin is ''declared'' legal is some place doesn't mean other countries are going to accept it... Making it just as worthless as the next crypto if all was declared illegal.

I think we need to start a ''Get LTC on Bitstamp'' thread....
They have ripple and they suck balls, LTC would bring them way more volume and allow a BTC/LTC market on top of a FIAT/LTC market.

For synchronizing:
First backup wallet and save it on desktop for instance, to be easily to find .dat file,
then delete folder C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Karmacoin <-- this is old.
And then start the new Karmacoin .exe, it will make new folder on the indicated address above.
Replace wallet.dat with backup wallet file, change the name of backup to wallet.dat if necessarily.
Then start again karmacoin wallet.
I am using a mac. Is it the same process? I made a backup. deleted every thing karmacoin on my mac. Re downloaded the wallet. when I open the new wallet it still has my balance there and is still stuck, Its like im not even un installing it.... I even have my .dat file on a USB dive. Its not on my comp. What the hell am I doing wrong?!!? ughhh!! Thanks ever so much for the help. I really appreciate it. |

have you tried the old "delete everything except your wallet.dat and reinstall? " that usually fixes most of the time
Yeah I have tried doing that. When I remove Karma wallet and then re install it it already has my balance on there when I open the new wallet? I dont understand why its doing that. Still stuck..... This is getting frustrating. |

I am a mac user and I am having trouble syncing up my wallet. I have downloaded the update etc etc etc but It still isn't getting past the 29000 Block. :/
If anyone can help that would be great! Please PM me
I just opened wallet and it synchronized quickly. I have Maverics OS version. Try install the updated wallet again. Don't forget about wallet backup before any changes My wallet is "Karmacoin version v0.8.6.2.4-g000002-beta" Is it right?! I downloaded it Feb 21st. Yeah thats the right one. Are you also having problems? Still having problmes syncing up the mac wallet... Some one help pleaseeeeee |

No wonder Mastercoin doesn't use this forum it would take someones whole day up trying to constantly do damage control and cater for the retarded trolls that look for any excuse to bash a coin and a community.

The competitors don't have this luxury as their only selling gimmick is FIRST to market (even if it means releasing a buggy product).
Team MSC has written papers about and put much thought into the economics and implementation of new features.
The competitors have largely copied these ideas but haven't added anything to the conversation.
Team MSC is in the position of watching and using and improving ANY ideas the competitors implement first. (letting them fumble the ball so as to slam dunk it with MSC)

Satoshi hid behind a sock puppet account, but his project was widely successful. Your post comparing it to competitors makes you seem so ignorant. It's not about trashing competitors, my intention of my post was that the community feels so scattered, and there isn't a good way to see whats going on with Mastercoin. I still want to know if Tachikoma and his partner are still going to be full time developers. Haha but I think Satoshi hid for different reasons than these new boys on the block  ... Pardon the pun. I wouldn't say the community is scattered, there is no need for these guys to build loads of hype. Actions speak louder than words and these guys have allot of positive things going on. Patience is all thats needed. |
