21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: May 12, 2014, 02:02:22 PM
Hi All,

Sorry for my quietness recently, things haven't been so great.

I've been talking to NWO and Tristan from poloniex to get an interim plan in place. So to keep it short:

  • WOLF will be moving to a mined coin with a small block reward (previously outlined) and a small transaction fee (0.01) in the next 24 hours, I'll contact Pompobit to get windows-qt clients released, and will liase with tristan to get Poloniex on to the new clients - for other targets it'll be the same as usual, compile from github or download the updated qt/daemon.
  • No delisting will happen, rather this will free up WOLF to be listed at multiple sites, including of course, Poloniex.
  • In the interim NWO will either fully or partially manage WOLF, including working through any decisions the community wants, distributing coins or destroying it, and so forth. I'll still be in the picture but taking a back seat on the day to day basis.
  • All development plans are still on the cards, just delayed somewhat due to personal circumstance. The above two steps will free me up to concentrate on that side of things.

I'd like to apologise for any concern caused, and will be updating along with NWO over the coming hours and days.

I'd also like to confirm that all coin is safe and unspent, and that contrary to this being a scam, I'm actually rather out of pocket over it, I've been paying 0.65 BTC every week to keep the network going since inception, have a decent amount of WOLF which I've bought myself, and have been paying for a full dedicated server for the project etc - and the added weight that people I know and like are invested in this to various degrees.

Simply my life is hectic and very stressful at the moment, almost at breaking point, and WOLF had become a stressful problem rather than an enjoyable project. This approach clears up the stressful side and allows me to dedicate any free time to positive steps development wise. There's a load of partially complete work, prototypes, two domains, and a good server for everything, it'll be great to get back on to that side of things.

I'm trying to keep positive at the minute, so I'll let NWO fill me in on the positives & negatives from the thread later, discuss, set all this in motion, and we'll update later tonight or tomorrow morning with what's happening, the aforementioned implemented, and get this going again properly.

Best Regards to you all.

Sorry, but I'm very tired now it's been a long day. I'm going to put re-branding the client as a second priority and pull somebody else in to help with graphics during the week as Pompobit our maintainer is away until the 6th of may anyway to compile the windows-qt. I'll focus tomorrow am (uk time) on polishing off the website with wolf-auth and web-mining integrated and getting it live, shouldn't take long in the am. Apologies, I should have prioritised earlier rather than trying to do it all myself. I'll update first thing when I'm around.

Is the second phase still in effect, has any of the first batch sold?  Are you buying from the batches or off the market?

Yes, however long it takes. Yes half of it. Yes I'll be buying from the batches as it makes the most sense when I'm in this long term, triples the weight of my purchase.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: April 25, 2014, 11:11:11 PM
On  April 17, you posted that 5.5 batches were sold and would be put in play that weekend. What happened?  I've been waiting to buy more with a few buy walls to protect the rise.

The buyer deferred until the website goes live on the 29th, partly to ensure investment, and partly because the alt they were switching from was on the short term rise. I've still to make a mid sized purchase myself in the next few days too (~20 btc).

InsanityDev   please can u explain what will happen in market .. in numbers please ... im kinda new here want to understand why there is some dips lately

Gladly,

History
WOLF started out as a gamified experiment to try to prove that if the majority of holders believe in the value of a thing, that thing will have (potentially unlimited) value.

An environment was set up where a fixed supply of 1,000,000 coins were minted, 10% were destroyed through transaction fees, and 9 sets of 100,000 coins were made available. The game was simple, all coins were sold at 0.001 BTC per coin, and each week all funds from sales went in to the market to buy as many coins as possible. Those acquired coins were destroyed, taken out of the experiment.

This meant that all cheap coins were taken out of circulation indefinitely, all holders knew that the majority could be classed as strong hands, and all short term traders could make a small profit.

Preliminary Findings
After 6 weeks it became clear that certain entities were bringing too much weight, exploiting the game in order to make a small profit on a large number of coins, therefore limiting the value of wolf to be around the supply price.

Long term holders could be classified in to two categories:
1) Those that followed the notion that "if the majority of holders believe in the value of a thing, that thing will have (potentially unlimited) value"
2) Those that partially agreed with the above notion, but also believed an offering had to have technical merit's of it's own to reinforce value.

The Change
With ~300,000 coins left to distribute, the "game" was changed to more of "pump". It was designed to encourage exponential growth and prove the notion that "if the majority of holders believe in the value of a thing, that thing will have (potentially unlimited) value", based entirely on each investor/holders trust in their fellow investor/holder.

The price of coins from the supply incrementally rises, and the proceeds from sales create ever growing buy walls and buy support, again with the destruction of all coins acquired back. This new approach was refined and approved by the majority of holders (critical: holders - those who had already bought WOLF).

Secondary Findings

People who already followed the notion had already bought and held - thus were not bringing new btc to the pots.
People who believed distinct technical merit was needed held off.
Many who want to invest needed to see the theory partially working (others buying) before they added weight, bought, and encouraged others to buy.

This has created a period of uncertainty around WOLF where several things are happening:
1) Some people are committing to a loss and "getting out"
2) Many people are sitting tight and waiting
3) Some people are bringing BTC, but using it to acquire cheaper than the supply price on market, in order to maximise long term profits.

Additionally, I've had two personal events, a major unexpected long term illness with my wife, and a minor illness myself this week, which have exacerbated the situation.

Current Situation and Future

It has become clear that the only way to prove the notion "if the majority of holders believe in the value of a thing, that thing will have (potentially unlimited) value" is to bring in fresh investment to get the ball rolling.

... and the only way to bring in fresh investment is to appeal to those that believe a coin needs innovation and technical merit in order to have value. (i.e. it proves that blind faith and agreement of value cannot be the only factor in determining true value, the thing must have intrinsic value itself).

Thus, in due course a plethora of innovative features will be built on WOLF to create the first third generation, web mounted, crypto currency eco system. Many of these innovations have already been prototyped by myself over the last couple of years, WOLF will bring them all together and be the working prototype for the next generation of "coin".

On the 29th April the new website will launch, which will have full details, and more over working demo's of many of the innovations. From there each innovation will mature from prototype, to test network, to main network, in turn, until eventually we have a full new ecosystem mounted on the web, with the legacy peer to peer system bootstrapped for redundancy and backwards compatibility.

The ~300,000 WOLF supply remaining, and the distribution model for it still holds and will still happen, it just needs the technical merit to get it started properly.

For the next four days we can expect the same rises and falls, unless somebody buys in early. The main server for WOLF is fixed and back up, mining rigs to run the network in the interim are now secured and working, and website + feature development is under way.

Features include, but are not limited to:
 - http(s) mounted decentralized and distributed block chain, restful data transfer, extensible data which allows any data to be carried (and signed/encrypted) within each transaction. This harnesses the true power of the bitcoin paper, the blockchain, and treats it as a massively scalable cryptographically backed distributed database which can be used in virtually any scenario.. a new data layer for the web.
 - anonimized cryptographic authentication protocol, building on key pairs this allows anonymous authentication, where a person can claim an identity if they so wish by proving they have the private keys used to authenticate. Additionally, like the bitcoin protocol it allows new keys for each use, thus exposing no link between authentications and identity across different uses, times, or domains.
- in chain mining parameters, all info required to mine the chain is encoded in the chain, creating an abstract mining protocol which any mining hardware/software can incorporate to automatically configure itself.
- browser based share mining, this allows anybody anywhere to mine on any device, and moreover treats mining as a useful commodity, web pages and content can be monetized in this way, and it could offer a healthy alternative to the advert sponsored web we see today.
 - useful hardware mining, as the chain allows any kind of data in transactions, mining rigs can be moved to a position where they support real networks of useful data used in a variety of applications, rather than just currency chains of transactions.

There are several more, and lots of details and minor points in between, but hopefully that gives an indication of the current status, history, and future of WOLF.

Not quite as healed as I'd hoped this morning - I'm going to rest up for another hour or two then try again, apologies for the minor delay and promise some forward movement today

Hi All,

I've had a couple of messages with some concern (understandably!).

I'm still here, no bitcoins or wolf stolen, removed, or anything of the sort. I simply have a bad case of conjunctivitis (eye infection) and can barely see the screen to do anything. I'll put in some hours tomorrow morning UTC to get everything ship shape and on track. ~12 hours and your concerns should be en-route to being alleviated.

Many apologies for any stress incurred, I'd hoped the message would have been past on from a few people I told via email earlier in the week when they asked.

I'll update in the morning and get things moving, again apologies.

InsanityDev.

The first 5.5 pots are provisionally sold, BTC will be added to the market tomorrow or saturday (converting it from an alt to btc at the moment off market). I'm also buying 20 BTC worth myself on sunday or monday.

So this weekend should see things start to move considerably.

Also remember there are a host of features being released on the 29th April - at which time we should have the first web mounted coin bootstrapped to the existing peer to peer blockchain/network.

edit: strongly considering rebranding the coin too, thoughts on this are welcomed.

What happened, 125 BTC poloniex Wolf is lower than the price of DEV  Huh

Largest investor forcing some people to sell lower I do believe, appeared to work as well..

Really?!!! 50 BTC sell wall at 0.000915 - 0.0009188??? Who is this, and why is this... This is messing up with all the plans made!

hmm, I'll check that out
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: April 16, 2014, 02:32:19 PM
We can't all wait for someone else doing the first step (disclaimer: I bought from dev already).

How about dev acting as a kind of escrow and people would actually buy some wolf from the stash instead of making empty promises?
So maybe we could get the ball rolling by having a sort of 'preorder'?

- Dev sets up a separate BTC account for preorders.
- Dev sets a deadline, e.g. next Sunday.
- If by Sunday there is not enough to fund 3 batches, everyone gets refunded
- If there is enough for 3 or more batches, orders are processed

That sounds good to me. What do you think about it Dev?

That's fine by me; the caveat is that no orders would be able to go up until there were 3 batches sold (else no refunds would be possible as btc would be on market).
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: April 15, 2014, 03:21:17 PM
Look at the order book on poloniex! Shocked

Almost 10 BTC volume and no order left under the dev price for a few batches. Dumpers seem to be out, it is time to get phase 2 started! Wink

Some more good news.

If it helps any, I asked many of you to express intent, and the summary of that is that between you you have about 60 BTC to put in to start, but all want to see a random pot between 2 and 6 sold first! Nobody wants to move first without the others.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin Phase Two - coin for investors and traders on: April 15, 2014, 02:03:06 PM
dev i will glad to help do some promotion work in china.

will you want to set a  multipool for wolfcoin, then you can buy wolf from the market.

you can ask  Adriano: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=112568  to help us set a multipool, just like bc coin

+1
Dev if you could start a mulitpool or someone who knows how, we could drive the wolf price up. Obviously there is little interest in WOLF right now, as we haven't even sold 10 btc worth since Wolf has been restructured.  I think we might need to vote on just destroying the unsold supply after next week and let it become a market only driven coin. No more supply (other than the small amount mined) with a multipool would make the WOLF price skyrocket in a hurry.

I'll have an update on that in the next few hours Wink

The current status is:
Roughly 173k WOLF are in circulation with the remainder destroyed, of that all but 38,000 is unaccounted for (as in I don't know who has it), with the rest held by investors or long term holders of various sizes. That 38k figure will drop as I'm waiting on two more replies. 'm expecting there to be about 15-20k in hands who haven't expressed any intent on what they want to do, so must assume dump on the way up.

Moving forward, one of the larger holders has expressed interest in buying about 130k from the pot over the next few days, which would really get the ball rolling, and numerous others have expressed intent to buy various amounts once the pots start moving.

Things appear to be turning.

Regarding multipool, that's viable, in fact there has been one since day one to technically support the mining contracts which run the WOLF network.

Update with the current status of WOLF coming shortly, getting the last two figures I need now - looks very positive!

Things appear to moving, several interesting conversations from holders in pm and via email, conversation with a couple of investors too..

It would be very good to know who's intends what - if we're not already in contact and you have say 5000+ please do give me a shout with a ballpark figure of what you've acquired, whether you're in for the long or short haul, and if you may bring any btc to the table too.

Thanks all.

My BTCs are still locked on Bitfinex. Once we get a few more investors in with a good plan, we should be able to keep the game going. Weak hands will sell below 0.0006.

Really happy that you are back! We really need an additional investor to get the whole plan starting.

y3804 and blockchains were the two that undercut everybody (and each other) racing each other and everybody else to less and less profit. If either of them joined this phase properly it would be great, but they could also do as much damage as good depending on how much weight they bring, and how short term / selfish they trade. (No offence to either of you, in the game you played hard and well).

PLAN TO BUY WOLF UP TO .0015.... But I need HELP

The plan seems good, but we'll need some more people buying in along the way, and we need some original investors. I hope you can help with this! When do you think your BTC will free up? I refuse the sell below my buying price, but will buy from the Dev the moment I sell the coins I own at the moment. This will be max around 0.001 (some at 0.00094 or below as well). If we work together, we can start moving the coin up!

I'm 99.9% sure it wouldn't work, IG-unknown would dump at some point and you'd be left holding more than you want with your BTC out of the game.

As with all coins, it requires a number of holders and buyers to become strong. Hence the plan for this phase suggested.

If it helps any, and since I'm a kind of admin / overseer - you can all "pledge" an mount in pm and I'll reply later with a total, so we can see what support is provisionally there without anybody just blindly committing.

This idea is much better I think. So we could work together. We plegde an amount of BTC to the dev. He collects all the pledges and if there is enough BTC to buy for example at least the first 3 batches at once, we will have a strong buy wall of 30 BTC on poloniex. This would ensure that the walls sustain the dumps and the game can start.
So if anybody is interested in this concept he should write his plegde to the dev, so he can collect all the pledges and make a big buy (simulating a big investor).
I've already wrote him my pledge. If the remaining people do the same, this will work.

Correct, It's the only viable way forward for us all.

And some suggestions for the future plans.
I think this coin shouldn't become mineable after the 9 weeks.
1. It would be better if this became a POS coin. So people are only able to join within the supply phase (so people are forced to join now within the supply phase, which could lead to more buy interest) After the supply phase the coin becomes a POS coin.
Stats for example:
PoS block generation after 1 day of holding,
Interest (annual rate) per year: 10%
2. Create a multipool for WOLF, so it would be possible to mine this coin and also increase the buy interest in WOLF (for this all bagholders should plegde/donate some WOLF for the creation).

Viable, the primary concern is having a strong chain, at the minute I pay for mining rigs to support the chain - but can't indefinitely as it's quite a cost each week out of my own pocket.

I'm missing InsanitySunday this week, and feeling a bit down to be honest - everything is down on every coin I personally hold, WOLF has been a time and money sink (although I'm still 100% behind it). I've decided to stop worrying about the other coins I hold and just wait it out, concentrating on WOLF (mentally/emotionally).

Open Question: I feel like I'm missing something, throughout my involvement with crypto's over the last few years, it's appeared to me that all each trader really wants is a dumpless coordinated pump, with no surprise dumps from people who got in really low or miners, and where the coin ends up with solid buy support that incrementally backs up any natural rises from new people joining the coin, thus ensuring a profit and ensuring stability of holdings. I was and am quite sure that this phase of WOLF provides that, so very surprised that the response has been so low. What am I missing here? Is there an obvious hole/exploit in the plan I'm missing, or do other traders prefer to leave it up to chance with random-alt, or?
