No news! Developers have escaped!  Angry

Nope, we are still working at BTX
But we have found an problem in the Masternode code and we dont wanna release a new Client with that code again
The bad thing was that we had a new client that was 99% finishd
But what do u want, not finishd clients with bugs or waiting a lil bit longer and get a stable and good client

And our dev also has changes in his day job, so he cant work at the coin the whole time
Pls stay patient, we are working and do our best to get BTX on the right way
Up for delisting on c-cex, you may want to rustle up some market activity to stay on the exchange,

We should be good as soon as the page is refreshed.  We had 8.66 BTC in volume yesterday and it hasn't changed.  I did manage to pick up some more to be used for promotions and such later.

Yes, de-listing notice on the BTX page for C-Cex is gone now. Thanks to you and anyone else that did some buying.

My wallet is working pretty well now (albeit with only 4 or 5 active connections). Still staking away with the occasional decent size stake reward coming through.

It will be nice to see some plans announced and some new releases worked on. I know that you're just in the background MCDev (along with PrometheusX and others) and busy with things at the moment. This project still has great potential though so I'm not selling any time soon and eagerly await the next steps.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: April 29, 2016, 01:46:48 PM
I'd like to say something about the obsession over ticker symbols. It's important to understand that many exchanges are only capable of having a three letter ticker, and nobody is going to re-code their exchange engine for a coin that has a $40 million marketcap. That's just a blunt, hard fact. IMO, we need to either get on board with accepting DSH as the three-letter ticker symbol, or we need to be proactive in coming up with a different one that exchanges can use.

With respect to Dashcoin: we bought all of their trademarks and completely own the name and ticker. Yes, Dashcoin used the DSH ticker symbol. Yes, a year ago that would have confused people. But at this point, I think we need to accept that Dashcoin is dead, and other than the three people that still use it, nobody else in crypto is going to be confused by Dash using DSH as a ticker.

Right now, Dashcoin is #398 on Coinmarketcap, with a market cap of $24,035 and a daily volume of $5. No, that's not a typo: $5. See: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dashcoin/#markets

$5 of daily volume. Ha!

I hate to admit this arielbit but when I saw BTC-e had added Dash (using the ticker DSH) my first thought was "Great, after all that 'BTC-e will NEVER add Dash' talk that went on ad nauseum in the BTC-e troll box, finally! Never say never!" and then my second thought was "I wonder if that buffoon arielbit is still around? Man, he's gonna be flapping his arms and jumping up and down like a man in a chicken suit full of goannas!" and sure enough here you are! Funny and hilarious is your popping up to sprout a whole lot of hot air and buffoon gibberish. And straining oh so hard to try and work out what you're babbling on with and let's see....what is it....squeezing my ears to try and pick it up....and (good grief!) YOU'RE STILL GOING ON ABOUT BLOODY DASHCOIN FFS!

What part of DEAD don't you understand? At $5 of volume per day that doesn't even represent the suggestion of a pulse let alone a heartbeat. It honestly doesn't matter whether BTC-e uses DSH or DASH. In fact it wouldn't matter whether all the exchanges use DSH, even any (if there is such a thing) that may once have had Dashcoin on their books. DSH is DASH - end of story!

Honestly when are you going to give up and do something useful!
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: April 27, 2016, 06:15:29 PM
Hello, it's been quite a while since I've posted here. Congratulations everyone on getting Dash on BTC-e. I know that this almost seemed like an impossibility not too long ago. BTC-e users couldn't even mention Dash in the toll box without the risk of getting banned, so silly was the narrow focus they had on old-school "coins" like LTC, NMC, PPC with a seeming belief that inhibiting their users from being able to discuss other developments outside of this first generation of crypto was an appropriate business model.

But the recent ETH bubble they weren't a part of and Dash's steady rise over the past six months must have woken them up to the realisation they're missing out on massive trading opportunities. Great news and their troll box discussions with the many old timers there will no doubt take on an all new hue (thank goodness!)

Hi Bro

We are a group of people from India and are facing the same trouble - how can we get our money out from this scammers, all our fiats and bitcoins are stuck
Can you guide a little bit pls

Well I don't have anything miraculous to tell you unfortunately. You need to just continue to interact with iGot as best as you can while also lodging reports with law enforcement in your country. This will be all about many people reporting their losses or inability to get their funds back. The more that report and raise awareness, the more the authorities will take an interest and try to force the issue on rectification or liquidation/dissolution of iGot so creditors might have a chance of getting some funds out.

That is not a serious expose at all. It's nice to get some coverage, but they took the claim that it is a temporarily, new problem at face value when there have been people saying they can't get their coins or cash for like a year.

Okay maybe "serious" is the wrong term. I'm attempting to convey that it's coverage focused directly on the problem the many iGot customers are facing, as opposed to a general overview of Bitcoin exchange problems where iGot's simply mentioned in amongst the dozens of other failures that have occurred. I don't think they took the claims 'Rick Day' makes of it being a temporary issue at face value. The reporter did push him reasonably hard on the phone call, but there are limits on what a media organisation can do. I think it will take everyone affected to really ramp up their reporting of inabilities to get their money back to the various authorities that will bring greater awareness.

It's amazing (to me) that there are people that would send bitcoin (or even fiat for goodness sake) to an exchange with out doing a basic check of Bitcointalk or Reddit first to see what others' experiences are. However there are many naive people out there unaware that crypto is (mostly) still unregulated. And it's these new people that are still being trapped in Rick Day's web and that's a travesty for these people, Bitcoin and crypto in general.

He's clearly a very dishonest and shady operator and if you're reading this 'Rick' you're damaging this industry and causing untold grief for many people that put their trust in you. Come clean and fix the mess you've created.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BTX Wallets on: April 05, 2016, 12:06:51 AM
If u can withdraw from c-cex and send to them and they arrive, then u r fine
But we found a fork at Feb 2016, and thats why some ppl are 10k ahead then the normal chain
U wrote that u are at block 326k, but the normal chain is at 316k, 316581 at time of write, so u are 10k blocks in front and thats called a fork

The only way how u can test it, send 1 BTX from c-cex to your wallet, and when it arrives then send them back, if both works then u r fine

Using your files I am in the right chain now. All is working well. Thank You.

I am on the correct chain (if comparing my wallet's latest block to C-Cex's wallet status is still confirmation of correct chain) and finally have a synced wallet too. Am receiving staking rewards again also.

However, for some reason I can't send coins to another address. After going through the send process (even using coin control to select the BTX I want to send from a specific address) upon entering my passcode for the encrypted wallet it simply returns back to the send screen showing the address and amount I've entered as if I haven't clicked on send yet. There's no transaction and no deduction from my balance.

Perhaps I have something else not set properly?
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BTX Wallets on: March 29, 2016, 04:06:28 AM
I can post a copy of my blockchain files. I am at block 326148 now, I have used this files to sync other wallets in other pcs and this works fine.

You can backup all your actual chain and wallet and try this files.

What Do You think. Do You want this files?

For now I am using a windows wallet, it works for v2.1.2 and v2.1.5 versions.

Yes that would be great. It's been laborious not being synced as the problem just goes on and on. I said in my posting above that I've been working on this for weeks but the reality is it's been months. I haven't been synced since early December.

Please let us know as soon as you've put the bootstrap up somewhere for download.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BTX Wallets on: March 29, 2016, 12:07:32 AM

Add this to your conf file until u have full syncd
connect=85.214.95.177:5520

The reason is that there are atm some chain problems and we should take the most important node as the main node ...
the connect is to my server and im full syncd with the ccex node
on my home server it works very well but atm is no chain movement because on my 8 MNs i have 8 diferent blocks, it goes from -3000 to +3000 blocks from the ccex one, but all full syncd.

Have attempted full syncs from scratch on both Windows v2.1.2 and v2.1.5 and both stopped at 265476. Any good ideas how to get past that block?

I too have been at this for weeks (attempting to get synced). On occasions days have gone past and the number of weeks behind only goes down by one (i.e. so wallet's reporting 19 weeks behind - 2 to 3 days later - wallet finally shows 18 weeks behind) so the syncing, when it's actually working, is very slow.

But now it's stopped at 10 weeks behind on block 276170. I've tried this on both v2.1.2.0 and the new v2.1.5.0 and, even though the green completion status bar has the shimmer passing through it every few seconds indicating it's still doing something, it's firmly stuck at 276170.

I've tried adding this too:

Quote
Add this to your conf file until u have full syncd
connect=85.214.95.177:5520

without it effecting any improvement. With that line in the .conf the number of connections is reduced to 3

with that line removed I've had up to 18 connections at times.

What BTX version are you using and do you have many transactions in your wallet from PoS?

I still think the split transactions is causing the wallet to hang, slow the chain download and use more CPU.  I would suggest you first backup your wallet and all your privatekeys, then try loading the chain with a new, empty wallet file.  After syncing the chain, load your old wallet.

I am testing a new BTX version for Windows (v2.1.5).  It doesn't use IRC which causes the Windows process to hang when you exit.  This version uses DNS seeder nodes instead and I added code to help the chain download.  It only helps a little.

  • Uses DNS seeders
  • Turns IRC off by default
  • Small improvements to chain downloading.
  • Fixes Windows Qt wallet bug that causes the process to hang when shutdown.

If anyone uses this version, remember it hasn't been fully tested.  @MCDev and I have been running the daemon version for months but not the Windows wallet.  I am not sure if the Berkeley db version is the same (for the wallet) so it might not work with your current wallet file.  This is a link to the new Windows 32 bit binary (v2.1.5):  https://github.com/CryptoDJ/BitcoinTX/releases/download/v2.1.5.0/Windows32-bit.7z

CryptoVote I'm on the last released wallet V2.1.2.0

That's just great that you're testing a new version; sounds like some needed changes.

I've removed my wallet.dat from the %APPDATA%\btx\ directory and restarted the wallet so it creates a new one. It's now syncing much faster than it was with my wallet loaded and not going unresponsive. I'll let it catch up then reintroduce my wallet.dat. Thanks for the tip; I've been playing with various Qt based wallets for a while now; I should have thought of that and realised what's needed.

Hi, I am aware of the CPU usage problem.  PoS coins do this when there are many transaction splits.  I was able to replicate this issue with Blackcoin, Sling, BTX, and DarkSilk.  I am working on a fix.

The unconfirmed rewards is another issue.  Are they conflicted?

Thanks for your reply CryptoVote.

Yes I guess they're conflicted. The wallet seems to be confused as it's still many weeks behind yet it's staking and I'm getting constant notifications of incoming stakes but they all remain with ? status. If that's what conflicted is then, yes.

Put your Reserve Balance to 999999999 until the blockchain is updated.
If your blockchain is still downloading and You have matured coins, the wallet begin to staking the blocks already staked, this is the conflict in the unconfirmed rewards. This solve this problem and the chain download is faster. When the chain is updated put your Reserve Balance to 0 to begin staking.

@CryptoVote
Can I send to You two screen captures?

Thanks for the suggestion CryptoVote. Have made that change and rebooted. That's no doubt fixed the staking conflict in the unconfirmed rewards. The wallet's still remaining in a hung state (okay for maybe first 5 minutes then permanently "not responding"). Getting some extraordinarily high CPU usage figures too:

(The above is a screen grab of a peak. Average is probably somewhere around 32%)

Sold my Eth when they are in 11$ price range. Still thinking if gonna buy back. Will do if it will touch 7$ line.

Just passed 0.024 so you may have missed out. This thing's going to be a roller coaster for sometime I'd say. Just don't start depending on the patterns as one day we're all likely to be surprised by some massive buys that will shoot the price up very dramatically and suddenly.

Guys while I'm looking forward to further developments and activity with BTX I'm not having a very good experience with v2120 wallet. It's constantly hung and way behind in syncing.

Is anyone else having problems with their wallet continually hanging and using excessive resources on Windows? I'm on 8.1 Pro on an Intel Core i5 2.50Ghz with 8gb RAM so although not the latest spec level hardly underpowered either. Previously (a few months ago) it was working fine without any of these issues.

This is what my task manager constantly looks like; the BTX wallet consuming the lion's share of my laptop's CPU and memory.

I've de-installed and reinstalled twice. Deleted everything in the %APPDATA%\btx\ directory (apart from my wallet.dat and the .conf files) at least three times too. I've tried using the last bootstrap that was provided and it makes no difference, it's still as slow as slow and never catches up. It takes days for the progress bar to show 1 week has been caught up (that's on the rare occasion when the interface isn't completely hung).

Although I'm getting up to 20 connections on the network and the wallet's even supposedly staking (although every stake payment is unconfirmed) it's basically unusable at this point.

I'm interested to hear whether others have a working wallet on Windows.

Uphold is a disgraceful company. They are trademark whores who make money by suing small businesses and individuals

Uphold is what used to be called BitReserve. They're very keen to disassociate themselves with Bitcoin but be known as a digital money outfit providing banking services without being a bank. I can't comment on the previous poster's comment about their reputation or business practises.

Very odd though to be making a big-splash announcement about choosing to support "two new cryptocurrencies" when one of them is Litecoin. WTF....that's like some software company putting out a new product and making a big song and dance that it "now supports Java!"
