21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AURORA "airdrop" - before and after March 25 on: March 25, 2014, 02:52:06 PM
Well so far the price isn't taking a huge nosedive.  Any word on how much has been distributed?  The official claims link ( http://claim.auroracoin.org/ ) is in Icelandic so I can't tell much from just looking at that.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AURORA "airdrop" - before and after March 25 on: March 24, 2014, 06:19:21 PM
We should all hope the Airdrop goes well and helps the citizens of Iceland.  It will help the crypto community greatly. I'm afraid there will be a massive sell off.  But if not, then a month from now we will all be pointing to Aurora as a success story instead of the failed experiment you all seem to be suggesting it is now.  Also, I have no reason to believe the devs will try anything unethical.  Heck, I may even buy some AUR after the price stabilizes.

I would argue for MINT also.  The POW/POS and momentum it currently has could make it a winner.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANNNOUNCEMENT- DinarCoin (IQD) is coming soon to cryptorush.in on: March 09, 2014, 03:52:11 AM
Just FYI.  This got added to the c-cex.com exchange.  I checked it out on the c-cex site and a guy who sounds like the dev (username=@DinarCoin-IQD), was chatting about the coin.  He was actively selling it to people and making deals in the chat.  He has at least 30,000 IQD coins to sell because he offered to sell someone 10BTC worth at .0003 each.   I asked why the web site (dinarcoin.info) was down and he said they are working on a new one.  I asked why I can't download a wallet anywhere.  He said he would give me a link to download one but after repeated attempts to get a response he never did.  He chatted a lot about the poor Iraqi economy which sounded interesting.  But I wouldn't touch this coin for any price.  He admitted there was a premine in the chat.  He didn't say 100% premine but didn't deny it either.  Just said there is a reason for the premine.  Yes, so he can clean up by dumping the coin he created.   Undecided It smells like scam to me.   Furthermore, I notice that the initial announcement about this coin does not mention premine.  If you aren't going to be up front, then change your story later - I seriously question the honesty of the people behind this coin. Why would anyone touch this coin until the facts come out?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt = US currency prior to regulation- wild west scenario on: March 02, 2014, 06:22:27 PM
If you are referring to the U.S. government, I don't think they will get too deep in regulation. The enforcement of something like outlawing Bitcoin would be too much manpower than they could handle.  At most, maybe they regulate exchanges.  But that wouldn't stop Bitcoin/Altcoins.  BTW, I sent you a private message regarding your earlier post.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: R9 280X, i will list few of them, i need your opinion on: March 02, 2014, 03:04:42 AM
The main knock on the Sapphire cards is that the company has poor warranty support.  You have to jump through hoops, pay for shipping, etc. before they will honor it.  I've hear MSI and others are much better.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: anywhere list the coins by total hashes? on: February 27, 2014, 04:45:01 AM
Cryptsy has an API that reports this for the coins on their exchange.  you need approval though and so far I haven't heard back on my request for approval.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any pool to Merge Mine Mazacoin with Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2014, 03:37:24 AM
bump.  I can understand no answers because no one may know of a way to merge mine it.  But I just thought I'd try one more time.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is there any pool to Merge Mine Mazacoin with Bitcoin? on: February 26, 2014, 10:22:10 PM
I read that Mazacoin can be merge mined.  But all the Mazacoin pools I visit make no mention of merge mining with bitcoin.

For that matter, is there anything new that can be merge mined with Bitcoin.  All I've done in the past is namecoin.  I've tried IXcoin and Devcoin but they seem worthless so I gave up on those two coins.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pool mint.hashrapid.com did`t send me my coins on: February 26, 2014, 03:31:52 AM
I have the same problem.  After filling out their contact form multiple times and private messaging the owner (His/her userid is: "coinhash") I have heard nothing back.  There is another thread on here where they did respond to accusations of it being a scam pool.  So right now I'm chalking it up to laziness.  I'm sure a problem like this is overwhelming.  Still, until I hear back that is the last coin I'll mine at hashrapid.  And I will be telling everyone I know to do the same.  In fact, if they really tick me off (Eg. The price of my 300,000 MINT they have goes way up) I have a scheme in mind to message all their users and inform them of the scamminess.

My coins arrived nice and quick.  Thanks.  Looking forward to following the development.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to Connect R9 270X to Motherboard on: February 17, 2014, 09:44:24 PM
Thanks!  That's what I thought.  Only reservation was maybe that you needed multiple power inputs when hooking up crossfire multiple cards or something.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How to Connect R9 270X to Motherboard on: February 17, 2014, 09:37:09 PM
I just got a new Sapphire R9-270x Dual-X 2GB card.  I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I decided to post a newbie question after searching Sapphire support and other places with no luck since I don't want to blow up my brand new card.  The included manual has a goofy diagram that doesn't even look like my card.  It says "You Must connect this graphics board to the computer's power supply".
I have two 6-pin PCIe power slots.  I should plug 6-pin power connectors into both, right?  At the moment, this will be the only PCIe graphics card on the mb.

Thanks.
