21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: August 03, 2015, 10:27:36 AM
Did you get an email saying you will receive coins? If not you should pm Mark on the forum to ask about the coins. 2500 was for survey #2. The whitepaper response award varied. At the presale price 1 coin was one cent. So it'd be worth $25 if the price stays at that. The survey coins won't be given out until a month after the launch.

So I'm curious Jonald, will you dump your survey coins? Or hold them just in case? Yes you three like to take shots at this coin all the time but I frequently get responses of interest in the coin when I bring it up in various troll boxes. So there is substantial interest and knowledge about the coin.

You guys are pretty redundant, but you know, I can understand your need to talk about us.

And now for a lil something different.

But I ain't complaining
We all wanna be famous
So go ahead and say what you wanna say
You know what it's like to be nameless
Want them to know what your name is
...
I see them staring at me
Oh I'm a trendsetter
Yes this is true 'cause what I do, no one can do it better
You can talk about me
'Cause I'm a hot topic
I see you watching me, watching me, and I know you want it.

They are a bit more tight lipped about the launch than expected. It is a high risk investment/high reward investment. And honestly, given the option I'd still buy a bit more.

Jonald's overview is fairly objective, though he forgot to mention the founders, angel investors, and early investors coins which won't be going to the foundation. And he didn't explain the coins plans at all. You should read the wiki for idea of how they will develop it.  http://www.neucoin.org/en/wiki/

What makes me so interested in this coin is it's distribution model and deals in place for usage before launch. I'd argue other than BTC, coins that have been released so far have been failures in that they haven't secured any market outside of the crypto community. This coin is doing things differently.

I'd suggest reading through the forum to make your own opinion about two of the coins team members Sandrine and Mark. Because it's really a matter of whether or not you trust the creators. If they are honest then this will likely become quite a valuable coin.

Dank was part of a company that used a questionable loophole in the past. But according to the courts the company wasn't doing anything illegal. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing. Look at the beginnings of many currencies, there's often some questionable happenings. Yes I do prefer everything be honest and fair but I do want someone business minded and smart enough to see opportunities, know when someone might be cheating them, and be successful, etc.

The innovation I care about is the distribution and usage planned from the beginning that no other coin has had. I don't care of the coin itself is not better than the other good coins out there. The image and growth the coin has from the start is what is going to make this coin. Most coins don't get things going in the beginning anywhere near fast enough and get weighed down with tons of bag holders by the time the coin has anyone looking at it.

As far as what we've been told, the foundation coins will not initially sell coins upon launch. I see no reason to waste their time to reconfirm it for you.

You'd have to ask the peercoiner that said that Sunny was looking into making the change. I'm not a techni.

The coin will start off at 100% and decrease the entire year down to 80% by the end of year one.Month 2's interest will be 98% and month 3's will be about 96.

The returns and lock up period have not been announced, I imagine it would depend on the systems holdings and how often it mines, such information isn't yet available.

Mining will start when the coin launches. Sometime before September 30 this year

I would imagine that after the first month the foundation will sell off some into spikes but the at launch we want day traders to jump in and give it some volume and have it get a bit of press and I think if the foundation could sell it's coins from the get go it would keep many traders from joining in on this coin.

The foundation wants to be the primary holder the first five years and will be giving away tons of coins to major websites as an adoption bonus and as a freemium. So they won't be selling too many coins unless we come into spikes often. The coin has a year to sell off coins to cover the following years expenses,

By buying some of the presale coins they can keep the pump from getting to out of hand. All coins that get attention get hit by pump crews, the founders having coins would mean they could try to lessen the blow and they'd make some profit. So it's a win - win - win

Just because I believe in neucoins future doesn't mean I won't sell a bunch if the price get really high to buy it back when it drops back off. These are businessmen not Blind fools, they know how crypto works.

BTW Dart, you seem to think there will only be 100m nokoin on the market at release, (the presale coins)
do you think there will also be foundation coins available for purchase from day 1, (unlimited amount)
also angel/team coins available for purchase from day 1 (all be it a restricted amount)

Will these extra coins flood the market and overshadow the presale investor coins?

If I understand correctly the first month only the presale coins and the 5 million PoW coins will be available. After that point I've no clue how many coins they intend to let into circulation from the foundation, it is apparent that it will vary according to what the price is at and how many coins they need to sell in order to pay for coding upgrades and the like for the following year. The angels/investors/founders won't get their coins until the end of every month, so none of those coins will be used. But I didn't see anywhere saying that the angels/investors/ and founders couldn't take part in the presale. So I believe a number of the big buyers were them so that they could have a nice stack of unrestricted coins. All survey rewards and coins of that likeness will be given out at the end of the first month. They intend for the foundations to be the majority holder for the first five years. I think they will be waiting until January when the release of the first platform will give it a boost in usage is when they intend to give away and sell the most to keep the price from becoming to volatile.

I can't find it. It came up around the time of the white paper a couple months ago, so I don't even remember which forum it was on. And I'm not a techie so I don't remember the details. But to my understanding someone that was well informed about peercoin who wasn't a big fan of Neucoin and thought neucoin should join another coin community as opposed to starting a new one. The person said that peercoin had already started working on making the alteration that is a concept neucoin founded to make PoS a little bit better.

I think Rizz has done the most in depth reading through the forums, most recently anyway. maybe he knows

I suppose growth wasn't quite the right word. I'm concerned of a pump crew coming through and playing on the neucoin community and jacking the price up to make some good money. With an investor video a pump & dump crew would be so very enticed to manipulate neu's market. Either way I'm sure there will be a bit of a spike.

No the forums not down. I imagine it's a technical issue on your end.

You must not have followed TAK. They were not a scam. The dev got in contact with an associate of Takei and had aligned with her organization. They spent weeks getting in touch with Takei and ended up finding that Takeis lawyers had been giving them the run around. So instead of pushing the launch back, they launched while in the meantime they continued working to get in touch with Takei, they didn't lie about anything. But when they did get in touch with Takei he turned them down and then told his associate not to affiliate herself or her organization with the coin. Which killed the coin. They did not put out any false claims. It wasn't expected that Takei would tell his friend to pull back from being associated with the coin. The coin had merit.

My job is to be a moderator, you don't have to be the best to be a moderator, just interested/informed about the project and have some people skills.

I became a moderator as of April tenth. It was publicly announced.

If you take a look at the wiki it names the members of the team and the various advisers.

TaunSew are you a misogynist too? I didn't realize bitcointalk was a place of collection for you guys.

I believe that it's already been established that Neu is being run by a group of very successful people, that's why most of us believe it will succeed. So it comes as no surprise that many of them already have a fair amount of money. That's what happens when intelligent people come together and make something, they end up making good money. I'm happy to have the opportunity to be an early adopter of their project, I may get to meet some of the team at some point. I look forward to watching them progress and seeing how they handle the various dynamics.

And to answer an earlier question, no I don't want my BTC back, I'd prefer my Neucoins upon launch.

And someone suggested suing if Neu didn't give people the money back in ten days if demanded. All presale accepted the terms and conditions. We are by no means due any of our money back until October 1st, and that's if the coin doesn't launch.

You openly stupidly insulted woman. Standing by and doing nothing would make people feel it's semi-acceptable to still be like that. All people deserve to be treated respectfully. I'm not sure you know what that word means. You live in a cave and yearn only to sate your physical needs. Unloved and without any purpose, that much emptiness must be mind numbing.

I wouldn't call myself a hippie as LBJ tied them to drugs to damage the anti war movements credentials. And I don't go around spouting love as much as I choose to talk about logic. Right now I'm a bit young and a bit different from most norms so don't well fit into any category. Student being the best currently and eventually scientist will be the best title for me. But it will be 10 years or so before I shall fit the title.

I guess you haven't read the ANN recently, as Rizz pointed out they don't 404 but lead to a squirrel jumping over coins. James post has been edited. And there was recently an update with a bit more information on the forum.

Gekko I just lost the bit of respect I had for you. Now yes feminists can be a bit of a pain, no argument there. But you know there's a reason they exist and it's because of worthless pieces of crap like you. Being as you speak with such hostility and don't seem to even know much about American history I doubt you're intelligent enough to understand the dynamics of why men currently are in the lead and how a shift to equality is taking place due to numerous global pushes. Or quite possibly you're just too narrow minded. You claimed at one point to be very successful but I very much doubt that. Those woman at the top didn't have a choice, to rise to the top they had to ignore all the mens BS else the men, being as they currently hold more power, would have pushed them back down the ladder.

You must have quite a bit of time on your hands Rizz. So yes I have brought up a few concerns I have had over time. Rizz how about just calling me Dart.

I think neucoin has more potential than anything else currently around.

As the poster said I am living in China, but am not Chinese. I am an American by birth. My cultural understanding is a bit more spread as I've spent a few years traveling to different countries around Asia. Though I do have a different value system than most. I by no mean favor the Chinese way over the American, but it does do a few things better. I seek to live logically and don't much care to follow any ways that delineate from that. People tend to find me a bit strange.

Why would it be so odd if I were Chinese? China has a massive population with so many small subcultures. They're pushing English pretty hard in schools. Most of them will have an accent but it's not uncommon for the best of them to end up with very good writing skills.

People using M-pesa are not the poor. Different countries have different costs. Considering how cheaper things are in most of
Africa, if you're using M-Pesa I would bet you're middle class. Kenya has 45 million people so about 1/3 use M-pesa and that is their form of banking.

This coins first uses are going to be tipping, gaming, ad removal things that the fast majority of people in Kenya will have no need for. But it is open to being used everywhere and it is a possibility ends up having a market in Africa. In five years when Africa booms technologically I'm sure neucoin will be on the ball getting in.

The big early investors only get a small percent every month. From the wiki

"In contrast to virtually all previous cryptocurrencies with pre-mines, all NeuCoins held by the founding team, seed and angel investors are subject to strict re-sale provisions for five years, so that holders may only sell 2% of their holdings per month in the first year, 3% per month in year two, 4% per month in the year three, 5% per month in year four and 6% per month in year 5."

It's a digital currency, The poorest nations don't even have much electricity. So they can't be a part of the market plan anytime soon. As with almost all new products the rich get them first and then as they become more affordable and successful branching out becomes possible. The way the world is setup there will always be poor. And with your demeanor I thought you'd enjoy reading that a project like the Venus Project exists. Take a look at the website, maybe it will raise your spirit just a little. https://www.thevenusproject.com/en/
As long as money rules the world there will always be poor. I understand this but for one I know crypto is a step better than fiat and two unless the world comes together and renounces money it does no good to renounce it by oneself.

Kenya and Ghana are not the target markets, and I don't think they will be anytime soon. I'll ask about the rest.
