Bump for a fellow lover of hemp!
22  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Organic Hemp Wick - Butane Lighter Alternative + Now Have FREE Samples! on: June 23, 2011, 04:58:35 PM
I'm in a small, long-time hippy tourist town that has a couple of average to poor quality head shops. None of them carry beeline or any kind of lighter-alternative. The hippiest one had not even heard of such a thing. I've been thinking about starting this exact business but perhaps it would make more sense for me to distribute a product from someone else? You seem to have done the research already if it's burning better than beeline.

Are you open to developing a wholesale relationship? The packaging might need to be worked on a bit before it's ready for the retail market. I'd be open to just starting small at whatever price you need to make for it to be worth it.

I only have a little BTC to get started but I think I could make something work.

Phungus,

I would love to set something up like that. Yes, my wick burns better and tastes better than beeline.

The packaging is very homemade-looking, I agree. I purchased a bunch of these wooden tags and drew my logo on to them.
As the momentum gains with sales, I will be able to invest in getting some nice looking packaging.

If people are interested in larger bundles (50,100,200 feet) I can do that too.
 PM'd you with more detail.

Thanks
Shfinkel

got mine in the mail yesterday.  it's a lot thinner than beeline and burns just as slow as the thick beeline.  tastes better too.  thanks for the great deal and fast shipping!

Thanks a lot for the good business and positive feedback!

I love that pipe! There is a shop near me - they are carrying an artist that does similar stuff.

Maybe he is the same glass artist.

24  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Organic Hemp Wick - Butane Lighter Alternative + Now Have FREE Samples! on: June 23, 2011, 02:39:35 PM
That looks so cool. Even though I don't smoke.
Can you make candles with 'em?

While you could make candles very easily with them, you could get hemp wick specifically for candle making and save money.

The hemp that makes the wick is organic, and the beeswax comes from family farms in Arcata, CA

Because the wax isn't coming from industrial apiaries, the wax burns cleaner therefore healthier for you.

As an update, I have quite a few people getting interested, so much that three are being sent out today.

I forgot to mention for international shipments, They are not completely free, around .3 btc depending on your country. I will give you a much bigger piece in return. Samples in the US are still free.

Thanks a lot,

Shfinkel of Earthlite Organix

Nobody goes into that restaurant anymore, it's too crowded, and you always have to wait in line!
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Value of Gold Value of Bitcoins on: June 22, 2011, 07:39:54 PM
Bitcoins also exist. Just saying...

Sure, virtually : )  So do nightelves, by your logic.

Huh? Are you a troll?

He is no troll, that's absolute fact!

It is why computer data and digital records have never ever been used in a court of law.

29  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Organic Hemp Wick - Butane Lighter Alternative + Samples for 0.03 BTC! on: June 22, 2011, 06:42:33 PM
interesting product.

but... you have to light it with something first, in order to light a cig with it?

kinda complicated...

isn't there a spark-lighter thingie you could put it in that would get it going without the hassle?  like one of those WWI trench lighter knockoffs or something?  brass.  brass sells.

if i could take it out and make it light without having to light it with something else first, i'd probably buy one.

I would love to design some custom brass combination lighter/wick holder, but I  need more momentum on the wick side of things first. That way I have money to invest. I think I even saw a custom metalworking service for BTC on the forums!

Wrap it around your pipe, or wrap it around a lighter. Makes things really easy.  Grin

The intent of this product is not quick convenience, but if you've experienced it you may find its def worth the minimal extra work to light the wick with an ignition source.

That is why I  will send you a sample....I will do it for free from now on....

I sell hempwick, an amazing butane lighter alternative.

It makes your smoke smoother and better tasting, as well as better for you!

Check my sig for more details.
Also have some computer parts I'm parting with for bitcoin but the hempwick is my main business.

Thanks,
Shfinkel

I approve of this service.
32  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Shfinkel's Computer Hardware Yard Sale on: June 21, 2011, 04:26:38 PM
damn i just bought a brand new DVD RW 2 days ago. I was gonna get that ASUS one too. Curious what are you looking for for the case?

New the case would be going for ~3.6 BTC I will do it for 2.3 + Shipping. I am in the Boston Area, for reference on cost. We can use USPS or UPS.

The one without the button can go for 2.1BTC.

If you want that DVD Drive anyway, its yours for 1 BTC on top of whatever else.

Thanks,
Shfink

33  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Shfinkel's Computer Hardware Yard Sale on: June 21, 2011, 03:43:26 PM
I am going to be moving cross country in about ten days.

Therefore, to minimize boxes, and for the fact I just got a new computer setup, I have some things for sale. I am flexible on price for the item.
For heavier things I am more worried about paying the shipping than making money. You make the offer!

 (2) Cooler Master Centurion ATX Computer Cases

One with blue accents and one with silver - The silver one has the plastic end of the power button missing so there's a discount on it.
The metal piece is still there so you can click the button and turn it on fine, it's just a bit silly looking.

I have a windowed and non windowed side panel for these cases. First buyer gets to pick.

Gigabyte S-Series AM2 support Motherboard + 2GB OCZ DDR2 Gold Edition RAM & AMD Athlon X2 4600 CPU - Bundled or separate!

Mobo The price there is bogus - I paid something closer to 120 new.

CPU

The RAM

also, XFX GeForce 6800XT 256mb Graphics Card
Can't mine with it, don't even try, you've been warned. XD

I also have in my possession Three PSU's

Thermaltake TR2 430w PSU

Rosewill Performance 550w PSU It retailed for 50 when it came out.

 ASUS DVD RW Drive

I also have an XBox 360 that got a red ring of death, super flexible on the price for that one. I know people out there know how to fix it, I am not one of them.

Thanks a lot for looking!

34  Economy / Economics / Re: economics sub-board should be removed on: June 21, 2011, 02:37:36 PM
this section is a joke
most of the posters here (all of them) know very little (absolutely nothing) about economics
even if they did it's not a riveting subject
I do like some of the threads that cause people to sell but they could easily be in the bitcoin discussion

What it needs is a moderator to send all the threads of sell sell sell and buy buy buy to the trading section or wherever.

Or we could have a specific "Speculators" board. Really consolidate all the stuff.

Thanks

Thanks again guys!
37  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Idea - The Bitcoin Mission - Bitcoin Missionaries on: June 20, 2011, 07:52:05 PM
I don't mean to jack your thread but that's exactly what I'm trying to do over at

http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=17167.0

I have already contacted 3 local business and got them on the know with Bitcoins, they are very excited;

and if you haven't heard, Meze Grill in mid-town Manhattan is actually accepting Bitcoin payments based on live mtGox pricing! I've been getting feedback from the owner and writing an Merchant Android app to ease the payment process.

Lots of stuff going on! not to mention some personal stuff. e.g. day job or my private pool.

Its alright we don't have to compete with ideas we meege them together.

the project part of the project would be providing a framework so that a person in his or her given locality can get the tools they need - to help business owners and individuals convert part of their business into 1 that supports and deals in bitcoins
almost like a social network that is built around bitcoins... where the main focus is fostering growth instead of social interaction
38  Bitcoin / Project Development / Project Idea - The Bitcoin Mission - Bitcoin Missionaries on: June 20, 2011, 03:51:59 PM
This is a concept I've been baking my noodle over.

Unfortunately I am not a programmer or a coder, which is why I want to turn this concept into a community project.

The key to making bitcoin stronger is to diversify the goods and services offered.

Can we create a mission of sorts? With bitcoin "missionaries" helping in a given locality?

I am avoiding using the word consultant because I think something like this should be a free service to help spread the use of bitcoin.

For example, we have San Francisco Bitcoin Mission - it could be a physical address or just a person or people (Bitcoin Missionaries) that an interested business owner could meet with. They can learn more about how bitcoins, the markets, and the various programs supporting bitcoin work. Said bitcoin missionaries could help them connect locally with fellow bitcoin users and merchants.

Take that template and use it all over the world!

It would be best to keep it a free service, but do you think donations should be accepted?

Thanks for your input,
Shfinkel
