Have a look into where the money goes from a lot of "well known charities" let's call them. I was going to say "respectable", decided against.

Check out how much goes towards the CEOs wage and running of the company before it filters down to the people (I'm not saying it's the same with every Charity, but at least check these figures before donating to someone's lifestyle).

I say the cryptocurrency community pull together and try to raise and donate towards forming an organisation to combat it ourselves.

I might sound mad, but listen...

Drones.

We build drones which can automate the process of delivering clean food, water and clothing to remote and exteremely poor areas. They can drop to defined GPS locations based on scheduling and recharge at secure docking bays between destinations (imagine power pylon height, renewable energy powered).

This would eliminate the need for children to walk miles to obtain clean water and allow the communities time to focus on repair and restructure.

It wouldn't need $1bn, we wouldn't be buying marked up DJIs but our own organisation engineering and building the devices at cost price, then deploying to the bases.

I can't give an exact figure as to the cost without being able to justify and breakdown first, but I can't see why it would exceed $50m.

I would be happy to pull together whatever resources I can in order to help such a project accomplish said goals IF we could get a good team of influential / knowledgeable  / skilled and of course always a bonus, "healthy-walleted" people together.

It's just a suggestion!!  Smiley

I lost a friend recently who took his own life. I had no idea how he was feeling to the run up of this and didn’t get to say goodbye. I feel guilty that I didn’t see the signs. I also suffer from depression and anxiety myself but have been in a good place and reshaped my life in the past couple of years.

I’d like to offer this thread in my friends memory to chat to anyone who is suffering from mental health issues and needs to vent or offload. I’m not a counsellor or professional but I am a caring person and will offer anyone my time to offer a reply.

Xxxxxx

I love your empathy and anything I can do to help your cause, just PM me. I'll make the time.

Wireless Racer ICO
Race and Compete LIVE in a League of Physical Gaming RC Robotic Cars utilising Blockchain technology

My name is Jaan Ergin. I am the founder of a company called Wireless Racer (WiRa).

We are attempting to raise and secure funds, via ICO, for our token, the ‘WiRa Token’.

Wireless Racer are a UK Registered Tech Startup (with Brand IP) who have created a remote control car that can be driven from anywhere in the world, with live video feedback, integrating digital assets via Augmented Reality and the Blockchain.

Just to clarify: This is not a “CGI Computer Game”, these are REAL physical (1/12th scaled) racing cars.

We have Working Prototypes, a small Test Track and Custom Software, which combined suffices as our Proof of Concept – you run the software, you connect to the server and you drive these cars around our track, from your home, with FPV and multiple Track Camera feedback.

This access is currently only available to our Press contacts and select members of the public. Perhaps some of you?

Further below we have inserted our 'Executive Summary', which is the most basic breakdown that we could have written, in order to explain the vision and goal of the Project.

Our full White Paper is a 47 page document, which again, based on the scope of the project, has been cut down considerably over time and been simplified for understanding of a wider reach.

PLEASE BE AWARE: This is not one of your generic template-look white papers. It is not full of jazzy graphics. It is a Technical Document that has been simplified for wider understanding. It is an original paper, written in-house.

We are asking that you support us to get this project the funding it requires ($2m soft cap / $20m hard cap) - we have already created a serious real-world business model which has begun operating. There is no waiting for 1 year+ to see progress, we are ready to go!

We have great contacts, relevant industry experience for numerous years, a lot of education between us and advisors who have worked on MAJOR projects.

Your WiRa tokens have real value and use: you need them to play, to transact, to receive payouts for winning races, to purchase digital assets, to customise your cars, for the entire overall use of our gaming platform.

We are not only able to change the world with this technology, which is amazing enough on its own if you think what we could do with it, but we are merging it with Cryptocurrency because we strongly believe it is the future of finances.

We could potentially raise our Soft Cap via the traditional methods of kick-starting in the old FIAT world without a problem. We don’t really want to support that way though. The world has changed. This is the 21st century, hence why we are offering the project to the Cryptocurrency community to help fund.

So, our Token is up for sale in 23 days, less than a month!

Potentially, in 6-8 months, this project will be off the ground, fully setup and running - with 96,000 gamers, per warehouse, per day, attempting to be the best racer in the world.

Triggers around our tracks will create timestamp results, visible on public ledger for all results, leading to potentially the cleanest, most cheat-free results logging system.

We realised that realistically we can’t house hundreds of thousands of customised car shells, so by integrating AR and in the future heading towards the route of ERC-1115 Tokens (so that users can own their custom creations as assets) means that digital shells, for example, can be loaded automatically during every race.

If you have no idea about F1, RC, Motorsports, Car Racing, etc, then the following videos will give you an example...

For those you who may have seen RC Racing TV, which has had several seasons aired on the Sky TV Motors Channel in the UK and Europe, and more recently, ESPN4 in the US, this is the intro that will be familiar:

IFMAR Touring Car Worlds 2012, Thailand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCam7Hmkuvo

(The RC Racing TV YouTube channel spans back 12 years, with the most watched video carrying 12 million views – HOWEVER, these specific videos will save you filtering through and have myself overseeing the broadcast in person, hence more relative)

NEO 2016 Finals, UK: https://youtu.be/3NXcdYXDEow?t=36175
EFRA 1/8th Euros, Sweden: https://youtu.be/TrXt5Y16dAs?t=19239
IFMAR 1/10th Worlds 2016, Italy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaV63u3uoPQ

We had an Animated Explainer video (which is probably floating around somewhere), that we took down as didn’t feel it was unique enough for our concept. We are in the process of re-recording this week with one of the prototype cars on tracks around the UK.

Please check our Website. The Paper. The Roadmap.

Do research and check out who we are. Have a good look at our team. We are a serious, motivated, energetic and strong collaboration who won’t stop until this is a global success. Back us. Support us. Join the revolution, we are evolving the face of gaming RIGHT NOW, let's do it together!

Hi guys.

I can't seem to get images to show properly, I feel like I'm missing something really simple.

I'm going to try and post here. I apologise. If it works, please tell me off and delete the thread, if it doesn't work - any advice on what the heck I could be doing wrong??

Method 1: The boards IMG tags =
Method 2: HTML code = <img src="https://www.google.com/images/branding/googlelogo/2x/googlelogo_color_272x92dp.png"/>
Method 3: Hmm?

EDIT: I have just found and read another thread, thus answering my own question - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2343889.0, which states that "You need to have a Jr Member status". Please delete, unless this may help other newer members.

Any type of implementation which allows the movement to reach more people, at this stage, I believe the positives will far more often than not outweigh the negatives. Notice I didn't say always.

Mainly Laptop...

Mobile when out and about or Laptop's charging, or just need to check something quickly without the headache of grabbing laptop, opening lid, logging in, doing whatever, closing lid, putting back.

I'm not lazy, I just appriciate time!

Also can't design or develop as comfortably on a phone, no way. Browsing awesome, otherwise yeah.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reaching Out To Those Abandoned By Traditional Banking on: March 27, 2019, 12:57:38 PM
Will definitely have a read into this!

It's actually surprising the number of adults in what is considered the '1st world' or the 'MEDC's who are effected by this.

There's almost a stigma, or a wrongly formed association of bad credit and '3rd world' / 'LEDC's, which is totally inaccurate.

In the UK, which is considered (well) an MEDC, there is nothing but trouble within this industry. Sniffing around the credit scores, payday loan companies and monthly banking interest rates for those who are financially worse off results in more often than not, a downward spiral which negatively effects society as a whole.

I hear of more and more people in the UK who are using cryptocurrencies to transact between themselves due to the fact that they are unable to obtain a bank account due to prior credit history.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if ICO is scam or not? on: March 27, 2019, 12:30:49 PM
Listen, I think a Mod needs to sticky my reply to the start of Page 1, because the amount of laziness / plagiarism within the replies here is just insane...

Right... Now... What are we dealing with people, Monopoly money??

No? Okay. Let's be serious then.

A legitimate project will list all senior members / advisors on both it's whitepaper and website. This includes names, photos, bios, links to SM accounts.

The most basic first step (which is what is repeated here on every page) - is to actually visit these SM accounts and see if the 'team' are genuine.

They appear to be? Looks can be deceiving. I've seen a Fiat with a BMW e36 body-kit.

Check under the hood.

'Adam McAdamson', the CEO of 'McAdamsonICO' says that he worked for the 'EU Coin Co.' for 4 years as a 'Lead Developer', and attained his Bachelors degree from 'EU University X' in '2010'.

Brilliant. Okay, so, now you contact the 'EU Coin Co.' (email at first if you wish, otherwise cut to the chase and pick up the telephone - it doesn't bite) and you say: "Hi. My name is 'XYZ', I'm calling in regards to 'Adam McAdamson', a gentleman who I believe in 2014 worked for your company - how would I go about receiving a reference, or some sort of supporting evidence of his position and duration with your firm?".

If the reply is positive (can I take an email and have someone in the HR department contact you OR sure, yes he was here we can confirm), then happy days, 'Adam McAdamson' scores a point.

If the reply is "lol hu?" then you can start raising an eyebrow.

Now, sticking with 'Adam', move onto the next reference, 'EU University X'. Give them a call: "Good day, I'm calling in regards to one of your alumni, who graduated in 2010, 'Adam McAdamson'. I'm in search of a reference, or at minimum, confirmation that 'Adam' did indeed attend your university and graduate in 2010?".

If the reply is positive (let me put you through to the Student Management Dep. OR yes, we can confirm 'Adam' did attend and graduate in 2010), then once again the Fonz comes out, eyyyy.

If the reply is "k mmm duno" then the other eyebrow gets raised. No more Rock.

Repeat this process for as many of the listed members whom you feel are required realistically, for this project to become a success. By the end of your emails / calls, the half a braincell that is left functioning will be able to determine whether AS A MINIMUM these people exist and have both the experience and knowledge required to create and maintain what they are suggesting they can (THE ICO).

Once you've done this, why not call them? If they are legit there is probably a phone number. Again for those of you with less wrinkles than me you can email first if you're more comfortable doing so.

Call them and say "Hi. I've seen your website, I've read your whitepaper, I've verified your references. I like the idea. You guys are 100% real right?".

If the person who answers the phone, gives a reply, which is anything other than this, no matter all the good you have just built on them in terms of a case - WALK AWAY:

"Hey. Thanks for calling. Yes we are 100% real. Where are you based? We are in 'XYZ'. The executive board are so busy that they sometimes forget to flush the toilet, but listen, if you are really serious about being a part of this revolution, and supporting the project, and you wish to talk to someone who can provide you with more information, perhaps email, phone, video, or if you are geographically possible to do so, a meeting in person, I can try my best to help arrange this"

That's the reply you want to hear.

Right.... Now. The 'idea'.

I'm not going to throw personal opinions on what is and what isn't a "good project", however you can see for yourself, that > 80% are pretty much trying to raise money to do the same thing.

In terms of if an ICO is a scam, along with the whole data checking of whoever is meant to be leading the project, the idea must be considered thoroughly.

- Is the idea, the concept, a viable one?
- Is it the same as 80% of the others on the market?
- What is the USP?
- Is there a working prototype?
- Is there a product that already exists, funded off the backs of the founders, board, etc, that can be seen functioning?
- Is it a relevant product?
- Is the goal attainable?
- Is the concept going to change the world?

Most scam ICOs have similar signs. Big ambitious plans, almost carbon copied from yet another "we will speed up transaction times with little or no fees and help send from A or B faster and keep track, and yes, and no, the rain is coming".

They tend to use the same generic look, which is a paid template, modified.

There is usually no product, nothing to show the end-user, perhaps a few screenshots (if lucky). Check the SM accounts of those who are involved in high-level. A good SM account will show a history of what has been going on, which projects they have been working on, in what periods of their life, it supports their references... If someone claims to have been building drones for 4 years and has a photo of a drone which they have 3D printed, and engineered from 4 years back, that's a pretty good sign of authenticity.

If they succeed the ICO or not, it doesn't matter, everyone else is doing the same thing. Probably not a great risk. A USP is important.

Choose wisely. Do research. Do real world research. If people are arrogant and don't want to give you the time of day, then don't bother supporting the project. A good team and a good movement will always try and make time and show they are not focused on money.

Hope this helps!!
34  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I quit smoking? on: March 27, 2019, 11:30:45 AM
It's probably been said 100 times already over the span of these gazillion pages, however:

You have to truly want to! I think that's the main key. If you truly don't want to do something... well.

It's a shame because for those of us who have at least half a braincell; we are fully aware of the both the health implications, and also the social implications (on family and friends as a result of the health) which are a direct result of smoking - yet continue to do so due to the fact that the contents of non-organic tobacco (aka over-the-counter-cowboys-and-camels) is highly addictive.

I travelled to Turkey, and tried some organic tobacco, farm grown. 0 additives. Wow. This is not the contents of cigarettes! Different product completely.

Basil and Mint. Both green, both herbs. Same thing.

As the great Napoleon Hill said:

"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve"

Motivation is the enemy of Procrastination!

Times can get hard. Real hard. Especially when you are working on something which you truly believe in and love and feel like nobody is offering any support or help. It can become easy to just want to lock everyone off, and move on, considering the simple life of a house on land relaxing. But then you don't get to change the world.

Remain focused on the goal. Have milestones which you need to reach and tick off as you accomplish so the goal doesn't always seem 100 years away (and you can see visual growth).

Try not to let the opinions of others (or more so perhaps the lack of) effect your mindframe.

Many great inventors were laughed at and riddiculed when they first suggested their ideas!!

This is a great time to see who your real friends are too. Move many of them from this category into the "acquaintances" one. People you have known for 20 years may pretend to care but a mix of jealousy and lack of knowledge on the subject you are proposing will lead to the feeling of isolation.

Hope this helps. Keep fighting. Be one of the crazy ones.
