21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 23, 2014, 11:19:52 PM
Cant access one of my units through wifi though it is mining through the wifi, any ideas why?
22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 23, 2014, 12:19:47 AM
Okay I have something odd going on.  But first something funny, the Ants that I received had ips set up on them and mining addresses set up in them, they were not default IP, so someone got some free hashing power as I went through and set up each one.  Anyway, one of my miners is functioning oddly, the Ethernet plug in has had its green light on sold on occasion and the unit will not be mining.  Additionally I have it, as well as all of them, set up on wireless. Each miner has a wireless ip and an Ethernet ip that do not match up on each machine (should I set the ether to the same ip as the wifi?), but this one miner I cannot access through wireless, it is mining, I can access it through the Ethernet just not the wireless.  Any idea's why this one unit times out and cannot be accessed wireless?
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / An old address on: March 22, 2014, 11:07:38 PM
I have a BTC address written down.  The original client was lost in a HD crash, no coin in it.  Can I use the same address, by creating it in a new wallet? No transactions were ever made with it.

Hey Tom. Thinking of jumping on board.  Just want to make sure I am clear, your total pool fees are 4%,  1% pool fee and a 3% exchange fee? Just need to do the math to see if it is worth the switch.  Thanks.

GetResult error 7 in debug. Any idea what I have wrong?  It is also saying it is looking for a particular block but finding a different one.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 19, 2014, 05:50:25 PM
Not really sure what I am doing wrong with CPU miner I am getting no accepted shares. Stratum is detecting new blocks. It does say it was unable to open the comport "GetLastError=2".   The miner is on com4 and that is what I have the bat set to.  Same issues with CG miner. Think maybe I have the drive installed incorrectly, any insight?

New to crypto but have been doing my homework, which has included rereading the Dune series.  Anyway, came across this article seems promising though apparently still in Beta.  Just posting for discussion in regard to solutions to the Mox, and similar, debacles.

Okay total new at this, been working with GPU, point me to setup instructions, please.

Edit- Okay got a portion of it, what would be a good conf for Intel Q9650
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 05, 2014, 02:55:54 AM
Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with those posts, but they're pretty much only valid for the older (non-keccak) miners, with the new ones the launch configs don't work the same way (e.g. I can use T12x32 launch configs on the older december 18th 2013 miner, but only get 1Kh/s on the newer ones). My post 8096 proves it.

The readme file also doesn't mention much about scrypt kernels.

It's one thing that Nvidia isn't that good at mining against the red team, and its another thing that there aren't any good miners out there, to even take advantage of the little that the green team has to offer.

I know it will take some time but try and find what you can on Nvidia Cuda training...

I'll try this again, post # 8096 (Page: 405).

Does anyone know any good kernels for running multiple 780's for scrypt mining?

here is current: cudaminer.exe -r 10 -R 30 -T 30 -H 1 -i 0 -m 1 -d 0 -l L32x8 -o stratum+tcp://stratum-east.hashfaster.com:3333 -O fior.workername:x

<sigh> same error  Undecided
Have you tried another pool?
Maybe you are banned or something...

yes three other pools, same stratum authentication error.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 04, 2014, 08:35:02 PM
New to this keep getting a "stratum authentication fail" tried on 3 different pools so I am not sure what I am doing incorrect, here is one .bat example:

cudaminer.exe -r 10 -R 30 -T 30 -H 1 -i 0 -m 1 -d 0 -l L32x8 --no-autotune -o stratum+tcp://stratum-east.hashfaster.com:3333 -u fior -p x

Where is the problem? I am also using dual 9800 GTX (I will upgrade here soon just want to get the learning curb out of the way a bit more) so if you see any other issue feel free.

-u fior -p x

Should probably be:

-u fior.workername -p x

Where workername is the name of the worker you set up on the pool.

Same error.  Love this learning curve  Cool
Try -O Username.Workername:Password, also --no-autotune is obsolete
here is current: cudaminer.exe -r 10 -R 30 -T 30 -H 1 -i 0 -m 1 -d 0 -l L32x8 -o stratum+tcp://stratum-east.hashfaster.com:3333 -O fior.workername:x

Hello everyone.  I am new to coding, Linux, and mining. Being driven is nothing new to me and I want to get this mining thing down.  I have downloaded BFGMiner and have been trying to log into Eligius, still haven't managed it, and set up my hardware for it.  For now I just plan on using my quad core CPU and dual 9800 GTX to mine with, just to get the ball rolling.

I put the URL and my address into BFG "URL:", leave username and password blank program closes.  What am I doing wrong here?  I realize it is probably the 'stupid factor', as my dad likes to call it - the most obvious thing right in front of you.

Thanks,

Fior

I know that many may say this is not advisable, I am just trying to eat my learning curb.

***Think I have it figured out, however any recommended reading would be welcome.
